I get what you are saying and I agree with you but the real issue is that its very hard to be respectful and cooperative when those same people have treated you like shit and you have a chip on your shoulder from that treatment. Let me tell you a story. I am from Jamaica and back in the day I was a reserve soldier and worked as a Clerk of Court at the family court. Now , wearing cammo is actually illegal in Jamaica if you are not military. one monday evening I was coming from work and was accosted by a police patrol. They drove the same old US army jeeps. Buddy jumped out , grabbed me by the back of my cammo fatigues and said take this fucking thing off. When i tried to tell him that I had training that weekend and was coming from work because I didn't have time to change he simply used a knife to rip my Jacket and then emptied my pockets on the ground . He then tried to kick y legs out from under me and because he failed he butted me with his AR 18. Now, the thing is we sometimes had joint police military patrols so it wasn't hard to find out which patrol did this and my CO arranged for us to patrol with two military jeeps and one cop jeep. You of course can imagine their surprise when we confronted them in one of the many lonely back streets and explained that we were going to have a chat with the one who fcked with me. To be honest we didn't actually do anything but for years I had a massive chip on my shoulder against every cop I met even though I had to interact with many cops on a daily basis. I wont lie, I massacred them in court at every opportunity and only lost that hatred long after I left the family court and migrated.

Having spent 20 years as an LEO, I can say that I wish that everyone I encountered would have conducted themselves as professionally as you did. You were cool as a cucumber my guy. On the other hand, I don’t know what the laws are in the particular location where this stop took place, but I would not have been very impressed with my guys dragging all of your firearms out like that. It’s a traffic stop over a traffic violation. You were cool and you were upfront about the presence of your firearms. Personally, I’d have checked your ID, permits, and documents related to the vehicle, then had you on your way. Not terrible, but it’d go a long way toward earning the respect of the public if more LEO’s didn’t act as if the mere presence of a firearm was an immediate threat to their lives. I always found it pretty easy to tell when someone was a threat based upon their body language, demeanor, and the nature of our contact.
Thank you for your service sir. In my experience, this rarely doesn’t happen. I was pulled over and they saw my permit, asked if I had a gun, I said in the glove box. Then they get me out my car pat me down (I’m wearing my work uniform coveralls) I’m on lunch break, then run the sn on my pistol like I would have a permit and carry a stolen gun, Then handed me a hand full of bullets, the mag, then the pistol. For their safety. I said I understand following procedure, but doesn’t make a lot of sense when I have a loaded spare mag right here. Sometimes people overthink safety. If it’s obvious I’m not a threat, handling my pistol that was in the glove box is less safe than leaving it be in my opinion. But it is what it is. Just try to make the best if it and don’t spook them. Nothing is more dangerous than a scared cop.
Definitely was wrong for the officers to take him out of the car and touch all his firearms. Just check his license, ticket him for proper reason if they choose and allow him to leave. The whole licenses for every damn thing we do has gotten out of control.

Every American has the constitutional right to carry. Sad to see in our modern times of citizens being disarmed like it's a bad thing to have a gun. Correct way to handle the traffic stop is to tell him why he got pulled over in the first place, write a ticket and go on your way. Simple. Pulling you out, treating you like a criminal for simply open carrying says how much we as a nation is losing our freedoms in just the last few short decades.
This is what happens when everyone is calm. That lady is the only one that seemed to be rude at first. So explain why sometimes even when everyone is calm, officers still abuse people? No one is questioning when officers do a good job, we’re wondering why you ignore the same interaction when officers are at fault? You literally don’t even respond to those situations. I feel like a part of why the cops treated him so well has to do with how he chose to handle himself in the situation. He went above and beyond to make the officers feel comfortable (which is something he's not required to do of course). Keeping in mind the fact that the officers are ppl too, its easy to put urself in their shoes and realize that it would be quite scary to pull someone over who has a gun on they're chest (remember they have no idea who he is and he could pull the gun and get a shot off in a split seconds).

Then they get me out my car pat me down (I’m wearing my work uniform coveralls) I’m on lunch break, then run the sn on my pistol like I would have a permit and carry a stolen gun,
Then handed me a hand full of bullets, the mag, then the pistol.
