Fantastic episode Nick nd Ian. Opens up a great debate for us music lovers of Rock. Keep the tropics coming lads.
Absolutely each generation is getting softer!!!!
Interesting conversation. I’m not sure if rock music really has to have controversy to stay relevant, but it does seem to be lacking the personality that it once had.
Could you imagine all the underage girls Motley Crue, Kiss and others claim they had sex with, but half on video. They'd go to jail or be killed by an angry dad.
There was definitely some gross sh*t that went on in the '70s and '80s, and what makes it even worse is that it was celebrated. I'm sure some of it still goes on in the music industry, but not nearly to the same level that it used to.
I don’t think rock music has larger then life rock stars. And the world being lawsuit happy rock stars are scared to be controversial.
I think musicians today are much more mindful of their image on social media and are afraid to do something to damage it or get them "canceled" because that's what really drives their career and popularity.
And MGK quit rapping after EM torched him on wax
Except that MGK released a number 1 rap album after that, which was probably his best album (Hotel Diablo).
I don't remember it going number 1 I believe tho..going after Eminem was strategic for sure!
Thanks for the reply !
Good episode! Gotta love Ian 😂
