- There are some things that you shouldn't do when trying out for volleyball, playing on a team, or just being a teammate. These are some of the most important things to remember when showing good sportsmanship and learning how to become a better athlete. Here are some things that can help you better prepare for a team, a leadership role, and learning how to play! This video is going to show you some things that you shouldn't do!

I chipped my tooth playing volleyball and my coach asked me if I wanted to sit out and I said no I want to play, and he was really proud.

i get too mad at people but i’m rly good at cheering them on al you have to say is when you’re on the sidelines is you got this [name] good job [name] keep it up just basic stuff but make sure you yell it

@@paprika3496 i get that youd never be a cheerleader 😂 but I am not no hoe. There are alot on the team but me and my friends stick to a small circle and we arent a part of that.
There is always a girl in a volleyball team that doesn't help clean up the net.. don't play attention to them, later on, they will realize that what they've been doing was really annoying and that now, they're not really part of the team. Volleyball is a team sport, and if you're not willing to do chores together with the team, then why'd you choose it?

In our place we used to do the net but a girl ripped off her finger tip so we don’t have to do them anymore

what NOT to do
1. don’t say ur tired but don’t dehydrate urself
2. don’t EVER be late unless it’s a rlly good reason
3. always be a part of the setup/cleanup
4. ALWAYS cheer even if ur losing.. encourage each other
5. recognize what ur not doing well and not do anything abt it
The last one is so freaking important. Some of my teammates used to be mad and bored during the game when they saw they were losing and let it all go. That definetly frasturated me and the rest of the team , so don't be that player who doesn't enjoy the game even if you're losing or winning , it doesn't matter. It's volleyball CHEER UP SQUAD!
yeah, my best friend is like that and hes the only one i know that play volley so we often practice together but he gets so mad and frustrated if some things go wrong
There is a girl on my team that gets so mad if we are losing like 5 or 6 points away from them
I was trying so hard to stay in a drill (I was tired dehydrated and hungry) that I did pass out. My coach was proud of me for trying but I had to sit for 10 minutes and drink water and have Gatorade chews until I was better
Yo I’m Xyler same they made us do a drill of jumping and they only gave us 1 water break
I really should have tried out my ninth grade year... I'll do it when tryouts are open!

I definitely agree with you with #5. Last year was my first year on the team and something that really pulled me back was doubting myself and putting myself down because I frequently made mistakes, but I’ve changed. I have definitely grown stronger skill wise and mentally and that will hopefully help me to be in the main squad this year. Ty for making this video that’ll also help people who constantly have trouble with feeling down or upset during a game.

At my club we don’t have to take down the nets because there’s always more teams practicing and there’s people payed to take them down so we got lucky there

I start my training camp tomorrow and I'm really stressed! I've really ever played volleyball in gym and I've loved it. And about two years ago I injured my knee in dance and was diagnosed with minor scoliosis- I've finally gotten the a-ok to start doing sports and high impact activities again. I'm extremely grateful for this video and it's gotten me really hyped up to play...tho I still am nervous bc I have no people skills and I'm very self conscious lmao

The team I played with for JV hated when I cheered. I tried a match without cheering and it was like crickets were chirping. I agree you should always cheer and encourage your team mates
