      I look at Cheng Yu as an interesting & fun break from more disciplined learning and also a way to get insights into Chinese culture.
      I've defintely heard ban tu er fei before but haven't really internalized it's characters yet.
      半途而废 and I am about certain it means "don't give up half-way". I think the best way to teach them is to come up with a four word english equivalent ideally one which rhymes
      不可思议 but I can't believe it
      is an example I just came up with to remember bu ke si yi
      The toughest part of learning Chinese vocabulary is the complete lack of cognates. All we can do is come up with mnemonics like these.
      xin zai le huo schadenfreude

    This is really good content! the lesson is structured very effectively: reminds me of how they teached these at BLCU速成学院. I appreciate the fact that you are sticking to chinese to explain the 成语 and give examples, minimizing the amount of English spoken. Hearing the explanation in chinese ties the word to other known vocabulary, provides context and greatly strengthens the learning experience. The class is short and effective, the examples are very good for repetition. It is hard to find good quality content for advanced learning, please keep up the good work. Looking forward to the next episode.

    • @木同吃什麼
      @木同吃什麼 4 года назад +1

      如果你用完整的句子形容,你可以說:我要提高我漢語的水平。
      如果你用簡短的句子形容,你可以說:我要加強漢語。
      如果你用:提高漢語或提升漢語,提升漢語對母語中文的人聽起來比較通順一點。不然會覺得怪怪的。

    QUESTION: one of my young friends on WeChat taught me a new Chengyu tonight and asked me to make a sentence or short story. 掩耳盗铃. Considering what is going on in my country right now...😂
    You have another idiom I could also easily use, I think. My question, is it “correct” Chinese to use two Chengyu in two consecutive sentences? I want to surprise the boys with some sarcastic, funny description; but I’m unsure if there are any unwritten “rules” about using idioms.
