The fandom in my country is literally so toxic towards Kana. They kept saying she wants people to pity her by talking about her tragic past and that was NEVER her intention. I really thought I was gonna hate her. But she really stole my heart. I never thought I'd relate to an idol girl so much. I used to be a child prodigy when it came to studying. I was consistently a straight A student without trying. This lead to other parents using me as an example which lead to kids my age hating me. I also didn't have a good relationship with my father and my sister was the one that everyone loved because she was pretty and social. I had no male figures growing up around me since kids my age hated me and older kids didn't hang out with younger kids. So, I was always around teen girls when I was a child. They also didn't really acknowledge me and the only girl close to my age berated me all the time The culmination of which lead to me being really insecure and with a weak personality. I used to think it was because of my looks but now I realise that I don't have that cool "bf" personality (i don't know how to describe it). Like her, I feel like I'm not needed and worthless and hide it behind self depricating jokes and always standing on the sidelines because I think I'm not capable of anything. That scene where she says why she wouldn't be a good center is word for word what I would say if I was in the same situation. Unlike her, I still don't have anyone to support me or pull me back up. So, I have to go through this alone. A lot of people go through this but I'm really weak so it's really hard for me to get over it like other people

I really like Kana more than any other characters in Oshi No Ko. Her development from spoiled superstar brat to a wonderful Person. Kana's feeling is how I feel about my life working at my company. The first 5 years I was the superstar prodigy but now that I'm hitting my late teens at the company I feel like I'm the has-been and all it took was transferring to a new department to realize how much people appreciate what you do.
Even if you remove Kana's crush, Aqua getting with Akane was always going to hurt. He directly told her, "No, I'm not interested in Akane and I am not going to pursue her", and then went back on his word. I think that hurt Kana as well, not only did someone she like kiss someone else, it was after he explicitly told her he wasn't interested and wasn't going to do that. That's also breaking her trust, so of course that fact added onto her seemingly rejected crush hurt her.
He never said that he said it is just a job for me but he found out akane talents wanted to get close to her he could use her he did what was necessary for him

If you like Kana in the anime already, the next episode is going to be pivotal. I think Kana's supposed biggest flaw -- being "unlikable" and not a pleasant girl -- is actually her biggest strength, and exactly what made Aqua fall in love with Kana. For all her struggles, she's fighting to keep a brave face, she doesn't cling to any man or show her tears. I think Aqua doesn't even realize how down bad he is for her.
Same at first I also think she was that clichés Tsundere character when I first read the manga. Also at first I'm really like Akane character but overtime I'm more drawn to Kana character because I found how interesting and complex her character was than Akane even though Aka sensei create Akane literally like a waifu material. I Love Kana's character. I feel she is only sane one in main characters. She is not that ideal girl who is perfect, she makes mistakes , she cares for others belittle herself because of others, tries to fit in . I am sure it is relatable to most of the audience

Kana Arima really resemble from Lie in the april Kousai Arima like when they were child they were called genius but when they grow people barely remember them and also they have same trama if they don't do their best it will be bad

4:45 - I can name a Drummer who ended up in a similar situation to Kana there his name was "Arin Ilejay" the 2nd Drummer of A7X who was replaced because the album he was a part of "Hail to The King" ended up being a failure in 2013 for "Ripping off 80s-90s Rock" and despite that was let go by the band Things did change after The Stage came out in 2016 and he has his fair share of fans now since most of the bad reputation was a fear of the band going for a simple style as The Stage ended up being the band's most complex album yet with lyrics and melodies you'll expect to hear when listening to Prog Rock bands like Dream Theater or Tool (HTTK was apparently a case of Burn out from the band) Now I'm curious what would had The Stage sounded like if Arin was still on Drums (Or even The Rev who passed away during the making of the Nightmare album) and it's things like this that is seriously making me think OnK is AOTY material since it really made me understand how hard Showbiz is sometimes despite not knowing the Idol industry
Well from what we've seen (anime only), Aqua isn't heartless and genuinely respects Kana and has a tremendous amount of respect towards her and he even says he owes her his gratitude (if I recall the exact words correctly from when the baseball scene faded out) after Kana essentially, though quite unintentionally, helped him begin his revenge play by getting him the role of the stalker villain in the "I'll Go With Sweet Today" Manga-Based TV Drama which ended up introducing Aqua to one of the possibly significant people on Ai's contact list, the produced Masaya Kaburagi who ended up being quite important after all as he provided Aqua with a lot of info on Ai and her life, which Aqua was completely unaware of for the most part up until then. And if Aqua's love for Kana wasn't already clear, the lengths he went to, and his every action, in the latest episode is as best of directly presented evidence, that the audience are going to get, as humanly possible that his feelings for her are not a lie that he is actively and consciously telling to exclusively further his own goals (as we've seen from his blatantly manipulative interactions with Akane in the past few episodes, from saving her from suicide to kissing in the last episode of "The Beginning of My Love With An Idol"). None of this is to say that Aqua is a villain at heart or that he doesn't care a single bit about anyone he manipulates to further his goals, It's just that he has no other option that can lead him to the one who orchestrated Ai's murder (his father) and that he'll have to get his hands dirty to see It through to the very end, which you better believe he will ! after all, that's why he had to re-enter the entertainment industry, fully this time, after briefly, during his child actor days, getting a taste of the harsh reality behind the lives of everyone within It

But the cherry on top is Kana Arima's last name bringing a wave of nostalgia to me . This is possibly the second time I heard the last name Arima used in an anime/manga series. But on top of that, a series about characters that areliving a lie in their day to day lives. If you don't which series it brought back nostalgia for me. It was Kare Kano/His and Her Circumstances. As for which character had the same family name, that would be Soichiro Arima. (Funny enough I got into Kare Kano around the time I got into Fruits Basket back when I was in high school in the early 00s ... I don't think I need to say anything else since Furuba fans can likely get where I'm going Kana Arima's first name :D) However, separating Kana Arima from the nostalgia she's definitely one of my favorite characters in this series.
I let your video play and no. You’re wrong, Kana doesn’t have self-esteem issues; but it’s ok a lot of people and reactors have gotten this wrong because you’re only looking at what she is saying. Kana’s problem is she is dealing with massive abandonment issues and she hides it with self destructive comments then tries to laugh it off. Proof. First you are right about Aqua and her as a kid. However everything after that hints to. 1. She’s happy Aqua (someone from her child days) didn’t quite. 2. She started focusing on making the people around her look good even if it goes against what she wants, this is actually a red flag for abandonment issues that’s hidden as growth. (Brilliant actually) 3. Her entire speech to Aqua at the end of episode three is covered in subtext for her problems. 4. Complementing her herself does nothing but complement her work and she melts in your hand. 🚩 5. The self deprecating commons that like look like mood swings. 6. The way she almost broke down when mem was talking about her age. 7. Kana being an actor should know what Aqua was doing and it shouldn’t have messed with her like it did but it did, because it wasnt just her crush on screen it was hitting it was the fear that he was going to pick one of them and drop her. 8. The light up you have in the video was because he didn’t forget about her, it was why during the baseball scene she threw out names and was so happy when he picked her. 9. Aqua picking Akana just triggered everything. 10. You saw that everyone left her. 11. She doesn’t want Ruby and Mem to fail and she is terrified of that failure because she worried they’ll leave her. Same reason as to why she didn’t want the center. 12. Finally if she didn’t have self-confidence she would have quite by now. She wouldn’t have became the center. She wouldn’t match the acting skills of the people around her. Most importantly, she wouldn’t have snapped back so much to Aqua in episode two when he told her what Ruby said. She would have agreed instead she fired back that she knows she’s better than that. That’s not a lack of self-Esteem, the va made sure that her voice was strong and to the point.
the thing is the only thing kana is really proud of is her acting, everything else she belittles about herself about and constantly brings up how others are better then her in everything else, so she does have some self esteem issues

I let your video play and no. You’re wrong, Kana doesn’t have self-esteem issues; but it’s ok a lot of people and reactors have gotten this wrong because you’re only looking at what she is saying. Kana’s problem is she is dealing with massive abandonment issues and she hides it with self destructive comments then tries to laugh it off.
Proof. First you are right about Aqua and her as a kid. However everything after that hints to.
1. She’s happy Aqua (someone from her child days) didn’t quite.
2. She started focusing on making the people around her look good even if it goes against what she wants, this is actually a red flag for abandonment issues that’s hidden as growth. (Brilliant actually)
3. Her entire speech to Aqua at the end of episode three is covered in subtext for her problems.
4. Complementing her herself does nothing but complement her work and she melts in your hand. 🚩
5. The self deprecating commons that like look like mood swings.
6. The way she almost broke down when mem was talking about her age.
7. Kana being an actor should know what Aqua was doing and it shouldn’t have messed with her like it did but it did, because it wasnt just her crush on screen it was hitting it was the fear that he was going to pick one of them and drop her.

the thing is the only thing kana is really proud of is her acting, everything else she belittles about herself about and constantly brings up how others are better then her in everything else, so she does have some self esteem issues
