I remember watching an episode of "Greatest Tank Battles" which covered the Battle of France. This tank was in it, they interviewed a former crew member of one of these things, and he talked about how a group of them battled a group of Panzer IIIs, somehow they managed to get the Panzer IIIs to fall back. I have a soft spot for the allied tanks of the Battle Of France, these early war tanks are pretty cool.
By shooting at view ports, with heavy losses to unit operating those near useless tracked bunkers.I mean, what is the point of tank with so much frontal armor,but so bad AP and HE shells (it has less explosive than hand grenade)? Machine gun was more dangerous to enemy infantry than the main gun.
The fcm 36 was one of the more technologically advanced tanks of its time with great armour. French tankers had that advantage as well as knowledge of the territories. I've got a soft spot for the wee little french tanks that get no love these days. They really were good tanks in their own respect.
This game fails to have armour degrading over multiple hits, as well as shattering the optical ports of gunners/drivers. The French probably knew their shit well and went for the vital points to disable the tanks.
I know I'm late but this was likely the crossing of the Meuse river. During this battle neither sides tanks could reliably take out eachother: the Pz. 3's gun couldn't penetrate the FCM's armour (also due to the lack of APCR) and neither could the FCM's weak gun damage the Panzer back, so tank engagements often escalated into close range brawls. Eventualy the welds on the FCM's broke and began getting penetrated, so it was decided to withdraw. 26 out of 36 tanks were left behind or lost. The 'servicable' tanks were likely left behind because of the priorly mentioned welds breaking. Despite struggling with the Panzer 3's the FCM's were able to destroy some more lighter armour like Pz. 2's and Armored cars. What some also fail to realize is that the FCM 36 was a infantry tank, meaning it was meant to support infantry attacks by surpressing enemy fire and taking out defensive positions. Suddenly its slow speed, 'weak' gun and strong armour make sense. It was never designed to face enemy tanks, atleast not head-to-head.

If you're on a friendly cap and one crew member dies it will automatically start using the crew replenishment. This is the only situation where you can survive with one crew in RB.

This tank reminds me of one of those awful robots from Robot Wars, that some kids and their dad spent months building but was useless and got destroyed in less than a minute
I spent a solid 3 minutes trash talking this tank but my friend equipped it anyway, he held the C POINT on abandoned factory , and got 3 kills, then finally being taken down by a by-5

Respect for doing this. Actually grinded the French with these when it came out and dear god it was a pain that never ended :D Stopped at some point when i noticed all the good french tanks are M4:s.

During the start of World War II the French FCM 36 Tanks didn't do so well during the Battle of France, as it was totally outmatched and outgunned by Germany's newer Panzer III Medium Tanks at the time.
I was actually having fun in this pyramid tank the other day. I began torturing myself with unlocking and upgrading all French tanks and a the light tank and two mediums at 1.3 made me rage to 2.0. I had more fun in the 1.3 AA tractor then those 3 trash boxes..
Valiant effort, however you failed to notice that the AMC.34 is even worse with a whopping 24mm of ideal pen on a very average at best chassis. Have fun :)

This is not the worst tank in the game, just the meme got pretty big and people believe it. The worst one is another french tank, the AMC.34 YS, worse armor profile and a worse gun (24mm pen aphe at 0m). A video on that one would be really cool :)
My first time out in this tank was on Sinai. I roll played as Tom Hanks at the end of Saving Private Ryan, complete with my last shot on a big scary Gurman timing up almost perfectly with a teammate detonating his ammo.
We can all agree that no matter what tank Odd takes out he is going to do better than me with the best tank. Odd your singing abilities are second to none in that amphitheater. Kinda like singing in the shower. In closing: Odd you make world go round with your positive attitude..Thank you
I remember grinding through low tier France when it first dropped, and I spaded those tanks before they pulled those two tanks out and reworked them and put them as the reserves, I though I was gonna kill myself....
i decided to work on spading every single tank and aircraft that is researchable, nothing in the premium line or anything that has to be obtained through events/market, but anything a new player can load up and see in the researchable tree, and research when reaching it. and when i had these abominations, i almost caved and just started buying the upgrades instead of playing a match just to not even reach the first cap before the rest of my team already got and capped the point, and then die to the first thing i see because one of my crew decided to look at the tank, and the pressure from the enemy tanks exhaust backfire killed him.
The FCM 36 wasn't removed because it was bad, but because Gaijin MADE it bad after the ballistic formula update where all the french 37 and 47mm lost half of their penetration values :( I mean don't get me wrong it was bad before but at least it was somewhat playable and the AP had like 15mm more pen than now and a APHE
I would like to see a new br’s 0.0, 0.3, 0.7 for tanks like this, and new airplanes from around the end of ww1 but you have to meet a criteria for getting them so it’s not seal clubbing
