What would like to know about the new camera? 😁
When’s the next trip??
lovely photos! please make an editing tutorial, i like the results you are getting.
now for the question, what made you choose this camera over the G9II? was it just because you were already in the Canon system since earlier?
I would like to know what about low light in R7 vs G9 II, stab in photo and video, ergonomics, photo quality. Videos about G9 were great, thx)
But ... why? mft cameras you have tested are much better then R7. Not to mention not feeding Canon coffers who is in past 7 years behaving like a monopolist, not giving a damn about what content creators want. Number 1 thing users are asking is 3Rd party RF mount support, so people can choose for themself, what they want. Instead they have let 3 lenses in and thats it.
Noted 👍 Thanks 😁
Thanks for sharing, lovely images, beautiful location. My envy is running high.
Top! 👍 Amazing vlog, best in class !!! 👍 workshop is a great idea!
Great video! Beautiful photos! Wonderful drone shots! And I am glad you are sticking with Canon. 👍🏼💚
Thanks so much!
Wow, another great video! I have loved watching you develop your photography skills and can’t wait to see more from you.
Also, a workshop sounds like a great idea, I love the outdoors, photography and socialising. It could be a great way to share ideas with likeminded individuals.
Great to see a video about real world kit for most people!
What a refreshing view on photography. I have a Canon R7 and it is great to see what you are doing with it. i will be looking at future posts you do to see your images. great photos you took here. thanks.
Hell ye bro, I knew it was the r7 soon as I saw the blurred out back joystick lmao. Im glad to see a channel with the cam I got finally, looking more forward to future episodes even more now ha!
Keep the great content coming!! I’d be up for a residential, I could definitely do with improving the thinking and vision side of my photography
Great seeing you use the R7. That is what I use for all of my photography. Now that LRC has denoise, I can get pretty good shots in low light. I would really like to attend one of your work shops in Wales but I live across the pond. 🇺🇸 Thanks for the weather tip. Keep them videos coming when you can. 😊
great scenes, also great that you have a real enjoyment for the environment and the value of capturing the amazing earth!
yep i would be interested in a workshop in wales for sure. excellent video .
Noted! 😁👍
Count me in as well Josh!
Hope you derive a lot of passion and energy from the new camera.
I have a 17-55mm f2.8 APSC and it is body-less this unused, as I have moved to G9 and MFT lenses. The 17-55mm can’t be readily used in my speed booster unfortunately so unless I buy an APSC RF mount camera I don’t know whether I could justify keeping it.
So I’m interested in the reasons you chose the R6 over the G9II. Both are excellent so understand these are different decisions, and one’s legacy lenses are part of the equation.
My mum doesn't use internet, so I showed her this video (because she also enjoys photography) and she said the same thing as me with each location and photo: "BEAUTIFUL"
It's quite a step up. I remember stepping up from my 450d to the RP. While I wish I'd had the capacity to spend larger, the RP opened up my game and reignited my passion.
Look at that green scenery - that's amazing so beautiful. I live in Tokyo as you can imagine its the polar opposite.
Congratulations on the new camera! I still have my 250D and two 5D MKIIs. I don't ever see changing them. The more I use my 250D the more impressed I am. It may be marketed as a beginner camera, but there is nothing amateur about its performance!
Great video, great location and great new camera! Like the use of the drone, do you or will you do any drone photography and maybe share some tips . Ive just got my hands on one 👍
Yes, potentially interested in a worksop
Hi Joshua. I have the 250d and about to get the R7. I have hired the R8 for the last 6 months and hoping control's are similar. I too have all my efs lenses to use on the R7 so looking forward to your future blogs using them
Wife's family has roots in Wales. We've talked about visiting. Doing your work shop might tip the balance toward a visit sooner than later. Please keep me in the loop,.
I prefer full-frame cameras because they have less noise, better colors, and a wider dynamic range. That's why I bought a Canon R8, but only because I already owned a Canon EF 35mm 1.4 L and some other EF lenses. My old Canon 5D Mark II still works fine, but I wanted some modern functions, which is what pushed me to buy a new camera. If I were choosing a new camera and lenses from scratch, my go-to options would be the Sony a7 III or Sony a7C II.
I love my 5D MKII!!
Colours are not better on a full frame, thats a myth and netizen speak.
Less noise and wider DR, is true, about half a stop better than an APS-C camera, LOL and one stop better than the best m43 sensor.
What a time we live in when sensors have gotten so good that the difference is meagre.
I didn't realize you were shooting before, with my current camera the 250D. Kind of cool. Congrats on the new one though. Nice!
A workshop? YES PLEASE!! 😁😁
Congrats on the New Camera. The R7 is a nice piece of kit. 👍😊
Cool @ 04:36! 😃
Nothing wrong with using older EF lenses, adapted, provided they are good ones. In time I am sure You will accrue newer RF lenses, and You will be able to get great results. I would suggest the RF 16mm, and the RF 50mm f/1.8, as good places to start, as they are acceptably good, and ‘affordable!’
Cheers! 👍🤝💯
Thanks! 👍
Great choice Joshua well wear. You're a natural teacher so I think doing workshops would be a great progression for you. Go for it!
Thank you Joseph 😁
Those budget STM lenses are good. I use the 55~250 and get great results. Having an ED element certainly makes the difference with regard to CA.
Nice choice, and I look forward to seeing the next few vids because I have been thinking about this model so I can keep my lenses. I just wish Canon would give some love to APS/c and make weatherproof lenses for them.
What has been very impressive on this channel has been seeing just what a consumer level camera is capable of.
I would love a workshop, but I live too far away mate. Come and do one in Tasmania and I'll be there 🙂
Being a Canon RP user, I naturally thought just going to the R8 would make sense for me since that camera is the updated RP. But the R6 has more features that I want, but not sure if the exta $1000 is worth it. I have been looking at the R7, has features that I want plus the higher MP sensor is a plus, but not sure I really want to go back to crop sensor math with my lenses or if I would be seeing the effects of the crop sensor on my images and wishing I stayed full frame.
Love the vlog style, keep doing them. And if getting from Wisconsin to Wales was a lot easier I would totally do a workshop. The chance to get images in such an amazing lookin area (compared to the flat cornfields I have locally) would be a no brainer. If you do the workshop, hope those that attend appreciate the gift in front of them for their images.
Thanks Thomas 😁
Canon R8 is a beast :) especially for that price
@@Yuri-bc2qr I already use the RP, so it makes 100% sence for me to get the newer version since the RP is my all time favorite camera, but some IBIS would be nice and by the time I am ready to get my next body there could be a r^ mark 3 or 4,, maybe the R8 mark 2 or 3 will have IBIS but really think Canon is going to keep the R8 line as the cheap entry level and make the R6 line more for hobby and 2nd body people.
Great inspirations from this video. Nice video style too. The question, no sorry, from Norway. But others from UK should be interested I think 👍🙂
Good camera choice and great reasons for choosing it. I still appreciate your approach to cameras and photography in general. Take care.
Thank you Craig 😁
just found you joshua great video and tips thankyou
Workshop would be awesome!
Workshop, yes :)
Enjoying your content very relaxing and peaceful natural now a new subscriber
I often get photography blindness it drives you nuts doesn't it?
For a moment i was afraid you will go for MFT-system :'D Not saying it's something bad. Congratz on R7! Made upgrade myself from EOS 850D to R10, and now want R7 too because of weather protection.
Was really hoping there be a high speed APS-C sensor from Canon, a 20 megapixel maybe thats less than 10ms rolling shutter in the video, hopefully Canon R7 Mark 2 will do something like this, without having a stacked sensor that eats into the dynamic range and ISO. It really would been the best hybrid, a perfect balance between m43 and FF.
Yeah…Good to see you again . 👍👍
Pleaee don't make this channel about gear. As you yourself said it's not the camera its being in the right place at the right time with the right knowledge and ideas. Love the location and the enthusiasm and understand the excitement of a new camera hut please just focus on technique and thought process etc. Workshop sounds a winner!!
Yeah let's not. I'd rather enjoy what you got going. Otherwise, nice knowing ya.
I would love to do a one day workshop if you could accommodate it.
Would love a workshop 😁
Residential workshop? Yes!
If I was living in Wales or at least in the UK, I would definitely be interested in a workshop! I realize this probably doesn't help you haha, nice to read but not someone who will actually show up 😆 but I'm a fan!
Great video as always and I am glad you staying with Canon 😅
Me too! 😁
Don't do that to your poor drone if you want it to last. DJI had an official response on people doing the grab and flip instead of landing properly.
"flipping the drone over to stop it during flight can cause long-term damage. It's best to use the drone's designated stop or emergency landing functions to ensure a safe and controlled stop without causing unnecessary stress or damage to its components"
Should have gone for G9II in my opinion. Lens options on the Canon aren’t great, it’s not nearly as well made as the Panny and the crop factor isn’t all that different either. Anyway, happy shooting.
Having cameras ranging from good old DSLRs, full frame and cropped, and apsc mirrorless in several iterations, and medium format as well… here are the gear-observations, in most irrelevant to shooting to least irrelevant order… 1 dslr vs mirrorless - absolutely useless switch for photography, 2. Full frame to apsc - depending on the lenses you buy, you can achieve very much the same, 3. Full frame to medium format - for the same reasons as point 2, 4. Camera body features - lenses are more important, and most cameras perform photography with excellence!
Hey Joshua, my name is Johnny and I'm a freelance logo designer, currently I'm looking for more works, do you love to have a logo for your channel's branding to have a memorable graphic based monogram logo to help your audience recognise and follow your channel easier? I would love to design a photography themed logo inspired by your direction for you! Let me know if you interested to make it happen! :-)
Though I don't shoot Canon, you are dead right not to change lenses with your R7 and the further expense entailing
Good luck with it. There are no poor cameras now. I won't comment on photographers like me 😂📷👍
I own this camera with this demanding 32 megapixel sensor , will make mince meat out of them cheap ef lens you got on it
Typical Millenial. R7,needs blown out background. Lame.
