    Great video. I am new to this and have a question: when the camera is somewhat accessible you don't want the footage to be stored on the cam, right? If someone takes the cam the footage is gone. So that's where the homebase becomes useful?

      Yes that is true. Or use the paid cloud storage.

    1:28 s330 needs home base or it can work without it?

    The real question is, how well will this work in winter with freezing temperatures, snow, and minimal sunshine? I'm betting it won't last a season. Not to mention, the software usually doesn't work well, wind blows leaves, cars drive by even though set to no go zones etc

    • @NaterTater
      @NaterTater  Год назад +1

      Good question, i have 5 eufy cams outside in Michigan that have gone thru a few winters without problem. 4 of those are solar powered like this one. False detection can be an issue (on any camera) if you're not using the AI feature to detect only certain objects.

    • @shanew7361
      @shanew7361 Год назад +1

      @@NaterTater I also live in MI and have used several of the wifi brands of cameras even with ai on, the software still picks up or doesn't pick up objects and in turn drains the batteries quickly, if false positives consistently. Thus the concern for subpar software/ai and being covered in snow and freezing temperatures.

    I have the same camera except mine has the light. Today I installed it and got it up and running. Now I linked it with my Amazon Show 8 device and it won’t show me the camera but it’s linked in the Alexa app. Do you think it’d because the Alexa is probably using 5g and Eufy needs 2.4?

    Hi, I heard your comments about the Homebase wifi, and would like to know about how far the Homebase wifi extends. I live in a house that is all concrete walls, and plan to put a camera at the front door and the back patio door, but they are about 70 feet apart. My intent was to setup a mesh wifi system in my house, which i think would allow ne to solve that problem. Or i guess i could have one camera on the House WIFI and one camera on the HOMEBASE wifi, if there was some advantage to doing that....Your comments ??? Thanks, by the way i live in Japan.

    • @NaterTater
      @NaterTater  11 месяцев назад

      It varies a lot depending on the situation. Probably 30ft to 150ft. Concrete is not friends with RF signals so 70ft might not work BUT if you place the home base in the middle... 35ft seems very reasonable. Having one not connected to the home base also works, main downside is storage is on the camera itself and less AI.

    • @NaterTater
      @NaterTater  7 месяцев назад +1

      You cant live stream multiple camera views at once in the app but you can toggle between the different cameras one at a time.

    Just got s220 solo and not sure how to record video. It detects motion but does not record detected motion. Am I missing a feature. I don’t have the base nor plan on getting it. Just the solo. Any help is appreciated.

    • @NaterTater
      @NaterTater  11 месяцев назад +1

      You dont need a plan for recording. I think its set by default to record but if not go in the setting and tell it to record motion events. They will then show up in the app at the bottom as "events"

    It’s too bad this is the same Eufy that claimed that everything is local, yet they uploaded unencrypted info to their cloud and got caught. Anker, the parent company, had a horrible response. Feel free to google the read about it. Hopefully they fixed it.
