Just a small correction to what you said in your intro. You don't have to use it with a micro-sd card. it supports the Home base 3 so you can set it up with it and offload the video their. Otherwise, good review
Hi thank you for a detailed review of this security camera! Quick questions.. 1. Does it record Videos ONLY based on SPECIFIC moments/motion/event based like human/pet motion or is it just blindly recording continuous every minute of the whole day?? 2. While viewing the recorded video clips from an iOS device (iPhone), guess it streams directly from the video recorded from an microSD card, hope we don’t have to remove the SD card to view the event based clips.. let me know! 3.Also if someone (say a thief) who knows about the micro SD card storage and pulls it from the device, guess we as owners will never know who was inside our home right?? Or does the video clip get stored on local storage of Eufy app once event/motion is detected and even when the thief removes the micro SD card?? Please do let me know!
Hey @manishindudhar, it can be set to recording 24/7 continuously or by event type/when motion is detected. You can access the clips directly from the eufy app, no need to remove the microSD card. If someone breaks into the house and steals the microSD card or entire camera unit, you won't know, unless you pay to have a monthly cloud plan from eufy where it will record to the cloud. Another option is to buy eufy's HomeBase 3 unit and set the indoor cam to record to that. If someone breaks in and steals the indoor camera, but the HomeBase 3 is in another room, they might not realize what it's purpose is since it looks like a modem almost and you will still have recordings of them.
Great video. Some of the features I did not have. is there a software update? Also, I have the camera on my wife watching TV when I am out. She needs assistance to walk, so she will not be getting up. What are the best settings not to receive notifications with her just watching TV?
Hi Melvin, yep, there was an update after my video, so that's probably why some of the settings are not present now. The only thing I can think of to minimize notifications is to maybe ask her to sit in a specific area, then define an activity zone outside the area she sits. When she needs help to walk, perhaps she can lean into the activity zone area or put a pillow or some type of object there for the camera to detection motion.
Hey @ddgdec, I haven't set up NAS with my cameras since I have the HomeBase 3, but it looks like this S350 cam does support NAS: www.reddit.com/r/EufyCam/comments/1bkhoko/s350_rtsp/
eufy had shipped a 1 TB storage drive to me when I reviewed their S330 camera, but another viewer told me that the Samsung 870 QVO drives have a TBW spec of 2880, which means it can write tons of data before it fails. In some cases, the rating is up to 5 times higher than other brands.
To set the activity zone, you have to tap on Motion Detection -> Activity Zone -> Tap on Set -> Tap on the Plus + Icon and draw a box outside where your wife will sit. I think you can set up to two separate activity zones if you need two, but maybe just one will also work.
Yes, you can check it anywhere even if you aren't connected to the same WiFi network. The easiest thing would be to create a Eufy account in the app, and give those credentials to your nephew when he sets the cameras up. Once he is finished with setup, you can log into your phone with the same credentials and change the password if you want to have full control. Of course, your nephew can also set the account up and share the credentials with you, or share the cameras with you too.
Hey Adrian, i know this is a dumb question, but ... Do you have to be on the same wifi as the camera? I live 2 blocks away from my dad (90 yrs old) and I want to monitor him so I know he is ok. Also can you add a 2nd camera? I need 2 locations in the house. Thank you so much for the video. All the best Glenn.
Hey Glen @glenneads1733, not a silly question at all. You can still monitor the camera through the eufy app on any other WiFi network or even on your cellular data plan. Yep, you can definitely add more than one camera also to monitor two locations, however, you cannot monitor two areas at the same time. The eufy app limits you to viewing one camera feed at a time. great review, thank you. how far down does it tilt, eg angle below the horizontal? Would it be suitable to sit it on a high shelf (without wall mount)? Spec says vertical tilt is 75 degrees, how much of that is above and below the horizontal?
Hey @ElectricPylon, I'm not going to be near the camera to check it in person, but the tilt range is definitely limited when tilting down below the horizon line. From memory, I'd estimate maybe 30 degrees of tilt when tilting down and a higher range to tilt up. It may still be fine on a high shelf, depending on how high up it is. Another option could be to use a wood wedge of some sort to affix the camera to then place the wedge on the shelf so it has a small incline looking down naturally if that makes sense. Of course you'd have to secure it with a sticky pad or something similar to ensure it doesn't topple when it tracks or self calibrates itself.
@@DemCrumblies Thanks Dem. I have got the standard Eufy 2K Pan/Tilt. It has the potential mechanically to tilt down below the horizontal, but it won't allow tilt down by more than a few degrees, which is annoying! If the S350 dips by 30 degrees that is much better. Thanks for the info. Yes, good idea about the wedge of wood and adhesive to help lower angle.
Yea going by memory, I think it's more than 15 degrees but I can actually consult with eufy Chat support and find out for sure then get back to you.@@ElectricPylon

Hey @@mmichael2383 that's awesome! Just a reminder that it doesn't come with a microSD card, so you will have to purchase that separately if you want recording functionality as well.
