Tip 1 Always put something under the can, don't put it directly on the carpet Tip 2 Hold your breath when activating it and when you go in to turn your car off Tip 3 Don't air the car out until you're going to use it so the stuff is in there as long as possible. You don't need to air it out straight away.
Reviewed this myself a couple of years back, it is "Da Bomb". The scent lasts a good week or so, not much longer, but it has held back a number of funky odours in the Mrs' kiddy mobile.
taking out your cabin filters before using the bomb and putting new ones in after would most likely make this effective rather than just getting all the "stuff" stuck in the filter.
I was going to leave the old one in and then install a new one after, this way the old one collects all the "stuff" but maybe no filter is best during the process🤔
I used this aircon bomb from BH and I actaully think is really good. What I think is that, even if, it's a one shot treatment, I wouldn't call this or put this in the same league with an air freshener, because it does not intend to be one of those, in my opinion. And this was one of the main reasons I certainly picked BH Aircon Bomb over on a aircon bomb (which are air fresheners rather than sanitiser products). The citrus smell is quite nice, but it won't last more than 2-7 days I would say. It is just a nice company to have with those odour eliminating and sanitising properties. Price wise, I think 9.99 is not cheap, but reasonable. BH recommends to repeat the process every 6 months or so, meaning, probably the sanitising/cleansing effect lasts around that time, which I think is great, so we are talking about 19.98 per year for a treatment like this, for me its fine, but obviously not everyone will agree. Good thoughts of yours Jon, as always. I like and rate this product, I'm due to the second treatment within a month or so, and my AC still smells good, I mean, doesn't smell mouldy as it usually does, so seems to be the claims from BH are right. Cheers, Viktor
Hi John, I've also used the BH bomb. A tip I picked up from another video is that you need to shake the can VERY vigorously for a minute or so before setting off. That way it fully discharges. As you say, leaves a citrus smell that fades to fairly neutral. As somebody else comments below, it's worth changing the pollen filter, too, makes a noticeable difference 👍
There’s a ton of these type products on the market, BH don’t make unique product but they do what they do very deliberately and very well. What I’d like to know is how this BH bomb differs or is better than others.
I'd change out the cabin pollen filter John, it may have picked up leaves and dirt, don't know why most garages don't change them during a car service, easy job and not expensive

Jon, your passion for Bilt-Hamber products has now led me to buy this product. I'll be using it come spring when I swap out my winter mats for my carpeted ones and I may change out the cabin filter too (usually do it right before winter) I also bought the Bilt-Hamber iron removing wheel cleaner as well and I'm looking forward to using that as well, probably going to be used on the paint if I'm being honest💡 Hope Bilt-Hamber knows about your pull, extends across the pond and I've bought the Bilt-Hamber products through The Clean Garage here in the states (PA to be exact)
I've used the Autoglym one and it comes with a box that you sit it in at 45 degrees, so it points/aims up towards the vent in the footwell rather than spraying straight up into the car. Not sure if it makes any difference but it did the job for me.
I used the autoglym one too. But it left a puddle of water in the passenger floor as it sprayed faster than the vent could suck up. Lol . Fragrance lasted only a few days.
can't understand why people do this without changing the cabin filters, but after a good clean and filter change there should be no smell apart from a fresh clean smell like when it was new 😉

Hi Jon literally used this yesterday. Like you my car isn’t too old to notice straight away. But time will tell. The wife’s car really needs it but she wouldn’t give me £10 so she didn’t get in on the order 😂😂😂.

Hi John, I've been using these kind of air sanitisers for around 10 years now. I am not shure of their sanitising abilities, so, do they act more like air fresheners. Mostly I've used Maguire's new car scent, normally after refreshing cleaning the interior in the spring. Of course cabin filter I change mostly twice a year.
the bilt hamber one is not really just a scent its there to de-odourise the climite control system in the car if I remember correctly. so you have all the air blowers on full and you fire it off so it sucks up the material and spreads it around the car. they are pretty cool.
