That pen running out was doing my head in 😂
First thing I noticed the first time, having never machine polished a car, and I'm not a weak person, is that BLOODY HELL my arms were aching when I'd finished!! Fantastic video, this is the one EVERY new polisher should watch!
Be glad that your back isn't killing you😂
A great video. I have just had my first DA polisher for my birthday. This video is perfect timing 😀👍
Nice vid Jon, it’s good to see a newbie having a go under instruction.
Great vid, shows the knowledge you give to people giving them the confidence to have ago. Took the course last week and just kept thinking all the top gear you got Jon but what this guy needs is a bloody heater in that garage!! 🥶👍🏻
🤣🤣🤣 I thought that was you Jon in your younger days when you had a full head of hair 🏃🏾🏃🏾🏃🏾💨💨💨 😅 Big up Luis 👊🏾
It would be in Black and White in his younger days
Hey Jon, any videos planned with infinity wax’ synergy lite at all?
It would have been how to clean your Pony and trap

Thanks for this vid, great timming to be honest I've just brought the Flex XFE and needed the confidence to start and this has helped, thanks Jon "FDC".
Great video John sir
Awesome video. Thanks
Thanks Jon, easy to understand and I commend your organisation skills (written instructions on the white board) Thanks again ;)
Loved the video congratulations again
Great teacher, John. Lewis made the car look lovely. It's a real credit to him.
Great video
Really helpful guide thanks - am preparing myself to machine polish my brand new car...
Cheers Lewis
Superb teaching vid
Well done Lewis ....now to take Jon on a HEMS shout to repay the lesson..
Really liked this, great seeing someone being taught, makes the information very clear.
Really good idea to show how to start as a novice 👍
Good to see skills transferred, dont forget the edges, some mask them off as you can give them too much love and they cut harder.
That Touring is in Portomao blue. I was lucky enough to nearly buy one but for 7-8 grand less I bought a Jaguar XE R Dynamic Black edition with a list of extras added. Beautiful BMW bit gutted because of the price. I've bought a load of Bilt Hamber products focusing on LSP so that I wouldn't have to do this for a long long time. This just shows how much time and effort is involved deep at the core of detailing. 👍
jon saved him the 'detailing scene' that would have been up in arms when his trousers it the paintworks, a major detailing fo-pa
@@Lew-tronic did you try his flex PXE 80 the mini?
3:19 - One time I had a big surprise was when I used Perfect Finish to do a one-step on an HS clearcoat. Under heavy light you couldn't see much marring, but after using a panel wipe I could see half of the initial scratches, which would be expected. With Koch abrasives doesn't happen :\
Also, a great advice for detecting whether the pad stalls is marking a straight line on the backplate with a sharpie
Great job . You can do mine next 🤣
Very helpful. Wat machine and polish would u suggest for a beginner
Hi, can you send a link to the course you mentioned for beginners please. Great video!
“Just do to the right hand side of the badge.”
*proceeds to do entirety of centre of the bonnet*
Nice video Jon. Just a question though. Shouldn't the perfect finish have been worked a little longer? Every time I use it I notice that it gets oilier as I go along. I think this is where it changes from cutting to fnishing too. Seemed to me like you could have gotten a little bit more finishing out of it. What's your take?
How strange...off for 3 days to do my first ever machine polish....had a little practice on my double glazing units they've come out great....😁
I can't seem to lay the rotary flat for anything. I primed the pads. Put lots of compound. But as soon flat slows down and pulls all over!
Hi John what site do you get your interdeatling yellow cloths from I have looked on Amazon and I can’t seem to find them.thanks ps great video on polishing the bmw mate.
ebay or alibaba most likely...
He links them in the description. It's in2detailing.
It's been a while since your DeWalt XR Polisher review, how's it holding up and would you still recommend one?
Yes if you set on cordless. But watch my review because the summary really does give you all the info you need on if this tool is for you
New video series: Detailing Viewers Cars lol
Not sure if I missed it but what level pad and polish was being used?
Sonax Perfect Finish. He didn't say what brand of pad, just that it was a soft pad.
10. get a new maker pen 😂
whats 7,8,9?
Das it, das it... 😊
Can you recommend a battery polisher as my garage has no power. Thanks
The DW 848x is good m8
Hi Jon what do you if your car has OEM decals on the paintwork? Is it generally ok to machine over them?
no mate dont machine polish decals.
Forensic Detailing Channel thanks for the response. Big fan of the channel
Would you say getting a old bonnet from a scrap yard that isn’t too beat up, and has fairly decent paint and price, is a good way to practice technique for a newbie
That's what I did, well worth it as you can also practice a bit of wet sanding, scratch repair etc.
I did this, great way to learn though It was only the other week so I’m yet to polish the car I’ve just got. But it’s the best way to learn I think.
That's a great way to practice. It'd actually probably be better to get one with swirls and marks on it, so you can experiment with different compounds and grades to see what works and what doesn't.
Ask a neighbour you don't like.
Hi, what's the best thing to wipe a panel down after polishing ?, I've got some gyeon q2m APC (will dilute as per the bottle) is that ok to use or is there better?. I'm such a noob and got so many questions about pads and polish on new cars/new paint.
Use panel wipe not apc. Gyeon prep, bilt hamber cleanser fluid etc..
@@ForensicDetailing Thanks Jon, just today in the post I got gyeon prep and the waterspot remover ;). Still need to find my feet with the Flex XFE, as in actually using the polisher and pad/polish choice. Your content helps alot and 100% next time im going to chill and not rush and "slow down" with the passes.
What wax would you recommend for great gloss and over 6 months durability for less than £100 jon?
bilt hmaber double speed for top value. I like gyeon wax and autoglym UHD as well.
Would agree with Jon, Gyeon is fantastic.
All of the Gyeon range gives really giod results and all are good to work with 👍
Stage 7, buy a new pen!!!! 😀
First thing I noticed from the thumbnail. No zippers on your clothes😁✌️
remover polish or remover Polish ? lol great video this summer at 14 I learned how to polish I am very happy I did that
step 7. Buy new wipe board marker lol
Would the Orange CG Hex pad be ok for a single stage like this?
Yes m8
OK
I wish I saw this before , I dropped my DA on the hood and it went into the windshield
Smøke
Did a bit better than Reg’s first attempt!
Reg will be hunting you down like the terminator after Sarah Conor 😁
Not long enough 😤
your pen annoyed me haha
Car looked good enough prior to polish. Doesn't polishing hurt the paint?
Just keep on waxing the car each six months.
