2022 Nissan Pathfinder Review - Finally Nailed it and Now a Big Contender

  • The 2022 Nissan Pathfinder could be called an entirely different name - It's that different. This updated 3 row SUV gets a bold new style, standard AWD in Canada, and now has grown from a 7 to 8 passenger vehicle. One thing that should be nice though would be a hybrid option which this Pathfinder does not have - YET.

    Have the 2022 Pathfinder Platinum in Obsidian Green with Chestnut Leather....love it! Gorgeous interior and very roomy for this 6ft 5in driver. I have plenty of legroom and headroom. This vehicle is loaded.

    This is one of the most useful and best reviews I have seen for the 2022 Pathfinder! White body with black roof, and chestnut interior. About three weeks ago I ordered the Platinum fully equipped. I was very impressed with the one I test drove. I am presently trading in my 2016 Murano Platinum.
    I was reading Nissan priced this Pathfinder under normal market value for this type and level of vehicle to help get them back in to the market place. When Toyota came out with their Lexus line they under priced the Lexus vehicles for a few years to get their name in to the market place.

      Well, regarding price, I got mine $2000 over Msrp due inventory shortage, no color, line, options and transmission to chose, just the one thy have that day, I got a good trade in on my o 2009 dodge so I made the deal with a 60 month 0.9 ARP wich is a good deal even The over price. But as I told the financial manager trying to upgrade my warranty, "sorry but at that price they gave you no room to negotiate any upgrade". Situation is not easy, pretty much they have no cars to sale, very very low inventory o. Any model, I guess they are surviving having just a couple new per month to sale.

    This is the best review I've seen on the new Pathfinder. I really appreciate the detail on the third row and cargo area. For me, looking for a three row SUV, this area of the vehicle is important. And thanks for showing that the second row can be stopped before slamming into the knees of a third row passenger. Great job.

    LOVE IT! I had a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder and I loved it. But I was so disappointed when Nissan lost the rugged aesthetic and moved to the more recent “bubble” shape. Bleh!
    But this new design and all of the features is spectacular. I am definitely going to be buying a 2022 Pathfinder Platinum later this year. Hopefully there will be some good sales around Christmas time. 🤞

    I have a 2012 Nissan Sentra S with over 225,000 miles on it. Never had an issue with the original CVT. I changed the fluid every 60,000 miles as required in the owner’s manual. Nissan is capable to be reliable as Toyota and Honda. You haters should learn how to read a manual and drive a car properly and you won’t have any problems long term.

I saw this at a recent local Car Show and came back to look at it three times throughout the show. I really think Nissan is going to make a big comeback in the next several years as they continue to make better cars. I wish this looked a little more rugged like the Telluride, but I'm excited to see what they do next.

    I thought it was a Ranger Rover when I first saw one on the streets, the design is on point, rugged yet futuristic, no nonsense interior, ample room, V6 engine, no CVT? And the price is the lowest amongst the rivals, I may be buying a Nissan after being gone from it for 20 years, but I'm going to wait for the 2023 year model where they sort out all the little kinks for the 2022 first year of the new model

    • @jasonrock4308
      @jasonrock4308 2 года назад

      Wouldn't wait but I get it. They've actually done the work on making this model very reliable. I have the sl path. And I'm super impressed. Been a Nissan owner for 12 years. This is our second within the time frame. Super reliable. I'm sure 2023 is just going to be more of the same. All recalls are minor. On that note thats the reason why I went with the SL model. Platinum had a number of recalls and that made the decision easy for me simply because I didnt want a sun or panorama roof. If our 12 year old Altima wasn't about to go out I wouldn't have bought the path. So Im happy with this much needed purchase.

    I have never been a fan of Nissan, due to their bland styling, but this vehicle does look the part for sure. I agree with a previous comment that Nissan's build quality has sometimes let them down. Given that this is not a full 'off-road' vehicle and more the family style three row SUV, it's a shame they haven't included a Hybrid version. I guess, like you said, with the included tow harness and 6000 Ib capacity, Nissan have concentrated on function as apposed to fuel efficiency! Thanks for the review.

    • @EverydayReviews2022
      @EverydayReviews2022  3 года назад +1

      There’s been a lot going on with Nissan over the past couple of years. I think they’re just trying to get their bearings back with some core product first. Hybrid may come later especially since they have the Mitsubishi alliance which brings PHEV technology to the table. Would love a PHEV Pathfinder, that would be perfect for our lifestyle.

      The transmission is the same you would find in a Jaguar. Super smooth and wow. The power. I think if I'm not mistaken it s German made transmission. A transmission built by a manufacture where diving at super speeds on the Autobahn is conventional and put that transmission in a vehicle where it's rarely going to be traveling at the speeds it's built for. Oh yeah that transmission is going to outlast anything on the road.

    haha, I think if you look around and read user reviews you will find this to be a skip vehicle. I mean, its the same as Kia - loads of recalls resulting in settlements. Plus you have to get the higher trims as they cheap out hardcore on the lower ones leaving the Highlander as the clear winner.

    After watching your review for this 2022 Pathfinder I want one now...lol! I have a 2021 Honda Pilot EX-L with Navi and it looks so outdated as compared to this Pathfinder 😭

    I just dont like the center console.... old style, they should immate like that of highlander..... another is the lowered bumper, very low... at least if they can make it higher, the better if not the best

    Thank you for the detailed review. The third row usability is important to us as well. I wonder how the QX60 could be any better than this.
    Is there enough space in the underfloor cargo bin for the middle row center console to be stored inside?

    • @EverydayReviews2022
      @EverydayReviews2022  3 года назад +1

      Good question. I’m not sure but it might fit sideways. It would be close. The QX60 will have more premium materials and some design differences. This is really nice though.

    A plug-in hybridge trim should be available.

  • @analovesTexas
    @analovesTexas 2 года назад

    Don't get the lower trim levels if at all possible. The cameras are horrible quality. The passenger seat is so low you can't see over the hood or even use the sun visor. Nissan won't fix it. This is very truck like drive, not very comfortable you can feel every bump. The AC/Heat has constant issues with the blower motor not working and they can't recreate, so won't fix unless it happens at the dealer. We have to pull over and turn the car on and off to get the blower motor to work intermittently. Gas mileage is not what was advertised or anywhere close. It's about 12 to 15 in the city. Needs work for sure.

    To stop cantaloupe and watermelon from rolling around next time at Costco get one of those big cardboard try boxes for your SUV. They are available for free near cash registers.Then put so,e car clean in towels in it amd voila, your cantaloupe and melons won’t roll around any more.

    Mediocre interior and techs compared to mid ranged SUVs such as Santa Fe, or Kia Sorento. Even 2022 Mitsubishi outlander interior and Tech seems much better then this!
