It really sucks that we've not gotten any EURO's content so far, the coverage you guys used to do for major tournaments was absolutely top tier, and I doubt any european fans actually care about United and Arsenals transfer window rn...
Totally Football Show by Athletic on YT and Podcast format is doing a majority of the coverage every day. Not to mention their other podcasts are also talking a lot about the Euros.
I doubt United get Branthwaite. It's his first break out season and he's only 21 so I wouldnt be suprised if Everton feel they can get even more for him next season. Also Ineos will probably be much more stubborn with transfer amounts because they need to fix Uniteds reputation in the transfer window. Because of these factors I feel a middle ground is harder to reach.
But you know who does make sense? De Ligt. 3 years older, much more proven, and is likely to work well within the system as he’s already acquainted with Ten Hag and being alongside Martinez. He’s also a CB who can strive in systems that build from the back, which is the club direction INEOS wants United to go in as well. Considering how unhappy he is at Bayern, it makes it a bit rougher on them when it comes to negotiations.
@@jaygotgame1731 I couldn't disgaree more. He would be our highest earner yet be no where near world class level. He's barely improved since leaving Ajax. Ther'es no way Ineos pay those kind of wages to someone wh odoesn't deserve it. They're purposefully getting rid of high earners for a reason
@@jaygotgame1731Never heard that he is unhappy at Bayern. There are rumours that they want to sell him because he would bring in the biggest amount of money from the CBs that are candidates to sell. But even these news are questionable
Arsenal need to only sign players that relegate current 1st team players to the bench. If we focus on signings like Rice (game changer) and Timber, who (injury notwithstanding) is there to push Zinchenko to the bench rather than players like Tomiyasu (we love you Tommy) who are there to add depth, then we'll stand a real chance of winning big trophies
zubimendi as an example at this point is a bit redundant considering it seems he’s set on staying in spain. some analysis on other big names or even just a bit deeper of a dig would’ve been nice. options like de jong, guimaraes are also out there and spoken of often; onana is a decent one but much like gomes barely got a mention.
What happened to Tifo? Did I miss something? Firstly the podcast died then pretty much all the other football videos now they're just posting on The Athletic... Were they bought!?
They were bought by The Athletic a good while ago but continued as usual until The Athletic decided to smash the channel into an unrecognizable state earlier this year
They DO have club specific podcasts for every Premier League team. Obviously for general videos, they are likely to focus on bigger clubs because they have a bigger fan base and their news are just more "breaking". Check out their team specific podcasts if you want focus for a particular team, their main podcast also covers a variety of topics, but it's more skewed towards the big teams for obvious reasons.
Absolute nonsense trying to push up Branthwaite’s value to above 70 million quid. He plays in a low block in a poor team, he’s incredibly young, and he’s absolutely not worth that money even if he was from Mars. Absolute wibble
It's true United has Martinez and "options" to play on the left, but Martinez has been injury prone since he's been here, and our "options" suck. None of them are good players except for Shaw, who is naturally a fullback, and he also is injury prone. And he's also our only naturally left-footed LB aside from Malacia, who also has been out due to injury this whole season. That's why United is looking for another Lefty LCB
The CB left foot right foot issue is absolutely nonsense. Professional footballers know how to clear a ball with either foot. Thats why they're professionals.
Selling English clubs players is not harmless speculation, lots of Everton fans watch your content. Everton till the takeover was agreed had no one at the club "negotiating" sales of prized assets. Kenwright sold all Everton players for the last 20 years. Billionaire Moshri is not picking up the phone to some scrub at Man Utd. Stories of Everton negotiating with anyone are complete lies.
Branthwaite is not a top level passer of the ball (84%). He tends to shield the ball with his body and use his left to pass. He's a good physical defender, but his technical skills are lacking. I hope Man Utd buy him.
That graphic did NOT show how ambipedal players are, it showed the proportion of their touches taken with each foot - that is NOT the same thing. This is literally the problem with stat merchants in a nutshell ffs. All that data shows is how many times a player used a given foot over the given sample, from which we can INFER how willing they are to use that foot. That's it. It doesn't give any indication of how comfortable or natural they feel with either foot or what they are actually able to do with it - is a player who takes an equal number of touches with each foot, but has more poor touches with one of them, more ambipedal than a player who takes significantly fewer touches with one foot, but those touches are equally as successful as with the other foot? No. You cannot represent complex, real world scenarios with a number. Full stop. Numbers are just a representation of what has happened. You need multiple numbers in collective for an accurate INFERENCE (because all we can do is infer). Weak.
Nobody looking at stats is unaware of things like this. Unfortunately, gut feeling is far worse even than single numbers. So analysts are hired. To look at lots of numbers in tandem
Branthwaite is a poor Jacob Greaves, who is the best centre back this country has produced for 20 years. If west ham sign Greaves for £15m and Man U sign Branthwaite for £60m+, then West Ham have won this window already. Putting into scrutiny that Ratcliffe wants the best of class and the best of British for Man United 😂
How can you make a video for 20 min and basically say absolutely nothing of value. Just rambling on about line-ups and squad depth. Expect better from The Athletic. And don't mention The Euro's....
Everton are pricing themselves out of a market. Good deals hurt on both sides and their expectation for a 21 with 1 good season and 5 European games is utter madness
United paid £80million for Maguire, they are at fault for the high asking price. With Onana likely being sold, Everton feel no need to sell Branthwaite for anything less.
@@jetorixjones who are you to cherry pick a single deal and make that the definitive reference point? have you never heard of price fluctuations? deal idiosyncrasies? Have you no consideration for deal values for players like Araujo, De Ligt? it's a poor valuation and you know it
@thatthotho so bugger off and don't buy him. He is class. There is a reason Everton, with a piss pour attack, didn't have an awful goal difference. And it wasn't Pickford.
As a Man Utd fan, can an Arsenal fan tell me why they aren’t signing anyone? I know they spent a lot in the last few seasons, though they’ve qualified for the UCL twice in a row now. Surely they’re fine in the world of FFP?

Agreed - this is a missed opportunity
They do virtually no content. 2 years ago Tifo was great. It's been rubbish since.
Good thing that football fans extend outside of Europe
They were absolutely shattered after covering the last euros, I don't blame them for not being fucked this time around.
@@HerrCron that doesn't stop them doing the regular season podcasts. They need Alex back, replacing him with Jon hasn't worked

Love having the old crew back. It's such a great dynamic. Miss the old podcast so much.
