Well, here we go again.
How often have you done this by now?
I am glad you did it though, it was thanks to one of your tutorials that I got into the game and learned the basic steps.
You mean "Ah shit, here we go again"
Why is it that the Paragon recruitment center tech under society is taking forever to show up? I'm 400 years into my game and it hasn't been unlocked. I got this DLC to enjoy the legendary Paragons and it's unacceptable that this late into the game I don't have even one.
why is there a kneegr on my screen
@@leonardoalfonso7080 They wanted legendary paragons to be "unique" so that you do not get tired of them, that is, that they maybee show up only once every 50 playthroughs, or so. They are very rare, on purpose.
As an experienced player that doesn't get much out of this, I'm so glad you do these. They can be extremely helpful for new folks, it was videos like these that got me past my ignorant confusion trying to figure out this game years ago.
Same here, for new players these vids are priceless.
@@madking1485 New player here, can confirm
Returning player here who hasn't played since nemesis, who thought he still knew how to play and got his butt kicked in the first fifty years
I can tell you I played this game when it first came to console and I loved it.then I stopped playing and haven’t touched it since expansion pack 1
Now I’m playing it again and it’s up to expansion pack 6 lol
So all the new features are a bit overwhelming but your videos make sense and it’s easier to grasp.
So thanks and keep it up.
I am the new player everyone's talking about. This does help a lot. I've technically had the game for years but one thing or another always got in the way of me ever starting a game for more then say 20 or 30 minutes. Literally a minute ago I redownloaded the game on an external drive, and I'm using this guide to figure out the proper way to jump in! Here's to the beginning of all I've been missing!
I’m you today!
Not a new player here with no dlc but I can imagine how helpful this will be for new players jumping in as guides get outdated pretty quick with each update changing core systems pretty often. Thanks ASpec for putting this out here.
I tried getting shit done with the ingame helper. Understood fuck all. The thing explained literally nothing.
I'd love to have such a Tutorial series with all DLCs instead of vanilla for once.
Still appriciate the work you always put into it ASpec!
I just added Overlord and Paragons, so I agree.
ASpec, you should do a 3.8 guide to ship building and fleet composition meta!
please PLEASE
It's honestly a bit crazy how different the game feels now. Transcendent Learning is useful, what a time to be alive!
A really weird moment when you suddenly realize that you forgot that transcendent learning even existed because it was so useless before and now it's even pretty useful!
I started to play this game 3 times now. Each time was a different ASpec tutorial.
Hopefully I'll stick with it this time
Dunno why it hasn't. I love CK2 and 3
@@jimlthorI would highly recommend installing a few mods as well if you stick with it!
@@charliewebb7812 which mods do you think are game changing, and not just personal touches?
@@khbgkh I have not much experience with mods, but personally I like the Precursor mod. It just lets you choose which precursor will be in your run (you don't have to choose if the mod is activated, than you will just get a random one).
If you only played 2,3 games that is probably quite irrelevant - however if you have played a few times and you have never gotten e.g. Cybrex it is a great way to make sure you get the precursor you haven't seen yet.
On the one hand this mod is not changing anything at all - and on the other hand it IS quite game changing if you can have the Precursor you want to play instead of maybe getting Yuht 3 times in a row.
I've been through around 6 videos and just got more confused, you drop it down to basics and just flat show how to do things for a true beginner, thankyou.
Glad I could help!
Your tutorials are the best for Stellaris. It’s one of main selling points of your content. Many thanks for making a refresh of this great series
I have about 500 or so hours in Stellaris, and this update has really thrown me for a loop. It's really nice to see a new guide with the new features to ground me. I was playing a Hive Mind game when the patch came out and oh boy is that game just weird now.
Your tutorials are always something i return to
And has been initially what really made me try stellaris a second time after initially opening up the game without any guides or knowledge and closing it after 20 mins.
Hi there! I'm brand new to the game. There is quite a few tutorial on RUclips but I got to say, yours is my favorite. You stay on point, no long winded story telling and you offer tips as well as we go through the options. Thank you for the great job you're doing!
Love your work as always ASpec. Even those of us that have had the game since day one can find these helpful
hey Aspec! i love complex colonizing games, and stellaris just caught my eye yesterday. immediately bought full bundle and your videos are a big help for me to learn the game! huge thanks! glad to see ur still making tutorial videos
p.s i love ur voice, by the way. it's meditative and makes me wanna sleep lol
wow how convenient. i havent played this game in quite awhile, and a lot has changed, and my favorite youtube channel for this game has a new beginner guide that is only 10 days old. thats awesome, thanks!!
As someone who is quite familiar with certain strategy games and picked this one up on sale recently, I gotta say this was super helpful. Hope part 2 comes out soon!
Dude. This is one amazing tutorial. You are a PRO at teaching. This game has kicked my butt so much that I gave up 3 times trying to learn it. This video helps so much and I think the company should pay you! :)
This video was really informative, but still approachable. Good shit dude!
Great video
It has helped me get a hand on things right from the start. I hope to see this series finished. Got a new subscriber out of me
Thank you for the guide! I bought Stellaris day-one but never had the mental energy to start it. Will be playing it this weekend!
This was super helpful! I bought this game on sale yesterday with my brother and we were playing and had no clue what we were doing. I definitely have a better understanding of how to play the game now!
The shed was an amazing bit brother, 10/10
I was afraid to start playing this game but this guide was amazing! Thanks!
Been playing this since console launch and STILL learning new things.
Sub'd and listening at work
There may not be an 'up' in space but there is an up in my thumb. You have produced a great beginner's video for a rather overwhelming game. Thanks.
Went into this knowing some basics about the game, ready to hop on and play. Came out realising there were entire menus you hadn't even clicked on yet, knowing less than I did coming in. God this is gonna take a minute, thank you for making these guides though!
Great video. Getting this game for the first time this weekend.
Thank you, looking forward to your follow up videos
My roommate just got the base game so this video should be very helpful, thanks for making this!
I last played this game back in 2018. Oh my god things have changed. Alloys? Consumer goods? What the hell is this new planet screen? DISTRICTS? I needed this video so badly.
I'm coming back playing the game after some years and I'm sure this series will help me a lot to get back on my feet without destroying my empire in the first 30 years hahahaha Cant wait for the next videos
been playing for years, stopped for months, need a refresher. Thanks Aspec. Paradox reinvents every game they make, just about every 90 days. lol
0:00 GENERAL ASPEC!
these videos are great to use as a reference to explain the game to clan mates for when you drag them into a game of subjectgation i mean cooperative gameplay
im just in love with paradox man..... CK3, HOI4, stellaris, EU....... they goin ham on strategy
Thank you so much for making these! I wish however you would include at least Utopia as it's a must have by now anyway
Sharing it with friends I’ve introduced the game to. Thanks for the latest update
I hope they do something about science ships, with the leader limit being so low it really restricts how much you can do with them compared to previous versions. Just off the top of my head, science ships can; survey systems, assist research, investigate anomalies, investigate debris, perform active reconnaissance for multiple purposes/planets, dig archeology sites, explore new systems(which requires a scientist), and im sure there is more im forgetting. 8 leaders is not enough for all that, especially when you have multiple research worlds you could be assiting.
I thought this on my first playthrough with the new DLC because I usually have four science ships with one specifically for anomalies & dig sites. It definitely slows down your early expansion as you're very limited in knowing which way to expand. Perhaps the head scientist should get a buff that allows you to recruit extra scientists.
I usually had a huge amount of scientists assisting research. Really helpful when you get to repeatable techs.
It would be nice if they dropped the scientist requirement to explore systems. I like to send out one or two ships just to see the layout of the hyperlanes. Needing a Scientist for that really hurts with the new leader limit.
I watched this guide when I first bought the game. 800 hours later and stilling loving the game. Thank you, ASpec
Commenting for interaction and to say thank youi love these kinds of games.its so easy to get overwhelmed.
stellaris is a game that becomes an entirely different game every time paradox updates it
it's facinating!
Thank you ! im off to your Chanel to find more helpful videos.
I’m new to Stellaris. Just got it yesterday so thank you, I really appreciate this helpful video.
I will be watching more of your guides and videos.
Got a sub from me 👍
Welcome aboard!
I just want to mention that I really appreciate the help provided for beginners, and I don't mean to sound harsh, but there's a common issue I've noticed in tutorial videos, including this one. They tend to skip over important explanations and make choices without giving any reasons. Did you notice how many times the he said something like, "I'm going to ignore this option for now and do something else"? It happens in so many tutorials! They never bother to explain why they're ignoring certain things and choosing other options. It can be frustrating because you might not have the same choices or know when to follow their lead. It would be great if tutorials took the time to clarify these things so we're not left in the dark about what to do and when to do it.
Thanks for the Tutorials. I would be intrestet for a video of midd and late game. How you planets specialise ect.
Very good tutorial! Thanks a lot :)
Cant wait for the next overhaul!
Great video. Except for right at the end where I got mega triggered by the Slack notification lol
Nice! I skipped six month's worth of patches and didn't know where to begin.
Oh nice, after the last overhaul I’m gonna watch it, even though im 1000 hours in xD
honestly lmao
@@sydalg95 not gonna lie, i go to work and stellaris kicks me every few weeks for a few weeks. It's not the only game i play.
I enabled in-game assistant after new patch went live, lmao
33:20 You can hear the fear in his words when he sees the Shiny Gaia World's name 🤣🤣
Slowly back away from the shiny planet
Oh yeah. My first ever Stellaris game. Still got PTSD from that.
@@A_Spec Grogu! No! We're going to have issues...
I played so long ago the districts were new from the tile system. Thanks for the updates
baby's first xeno genocide run. looking forward to it
Let's be xenophobic, it's really in this year~
@@Tayvin4042 lets find some nasty, slimy, ugly aliens to fear
Another update, another "Stellaris X.Y For Beginners" video to watch and thoroughly study
Thank you! Tryin to get Back into Game after Like 2 yrs
Awesome video. Love watching the game but had no idea how to play. Lol 😅
5 mins in great video so far. I am new since the base game was free on steam. I can't figure out how to combine and manage fleets... hopes that's covered in this video or soon!
Oh sweet, just what I needed a beginners tutorial
1000+? You're still cadet level. I've 6500 hours. You never stop learning.
Same here lol never seen a victory screen in this game 1000+ hrs in which I could also blame on mods changing the balance but I always click on new tutorial videos.
Shit I’m so grateful for this rn, subbed and liked right away
I took off since 2022. Looking forward to playing soon (hopefully over the next week or so; dealing with that backlog). Love the refresher. Plan on making another one with the DLC?
Would beginner guide with all DLC be very different than this one?
@@johnzenc1984well I bought this game yesterday when it was on sale for like 3hours before it was back at its normal price with starter pack dlc
This is what I need. No crazy ass challenge exploiting obscure DLC mechanics. Just something to help pull it all together when I start a game.
@6:35 Actually there is some satisfaction in taking a little time to look over the individual solar systems and see what the suns and planets look like, a bit of eye candy makes the game more interesting.
Planetary features (including on Habitats) can occasionally include useful resources, and so are always worth checking. =^[.]^=
I started way back on sins of a solar empire, then grabbed Stellaris as soon as it came out on console, I was never great at either but the first big overhaul of Stellaris made the game completely alien to me. Now I just slowly grab dlcs and think about how cool the game is in theory but will probably never get anywhere in an actual playthrough again even watching all these videos 😅
I'll come back to this when console gets these eventually
A new update and I'm looking for my Learner plates again!
OMG! I have never actually launched an agenda. I just keep changing it whenever the notification that it's ready comes up. Well this has been a very illuminating video.
Did Aspec do more advanced economic videos here like he said around 26:40 when talking about the market? I’ve searched and cannot find them.
Thank you for the intro. Now I will dominate the entire galaxy under my rule
Missed an option use to play and just coming back to it
Small correction at 18:20 You can start the outpost as the anomaly was found and started after the last planet was scanned. Trust me Aspec knows this, just missed the the notification drop that the system was scanned completely.
Yup, the system scan complete notice went up before the anomaly pop-up, as the anomaly spawned on the last planet to be scanned.
This game never gets old to me
So I haven't started this yet and I've been wanting to get into this game buuut...is the 3.11 update dramatically different again? Or does most of this still apply to where I could watch this and still learn a lot?
when you start out, is it better to set more AIs or fewer? I’m wondering if higher number of AIs actually makes the game easier because they’ll all be competing with each other… whereas if you have fewer at the start it’s more likely that one AI will outcompete and achieve pretty monumental power.
@aspec when there will be a another pvp tournament like before?
Beginner here! Been playing for years! ;)
Oh my I haven't seen one of those videos in years. Glad that they are still on the radar
Ive spent over 750hrs in Stella and ive yet to watch this video i bet i learn something new
Everyone needs to colonise Prophets Retreat in their first game. I did. You definitely learn from your mistakes.
I don't have the hyper lanes showing, instead I get the arrows from within the solar system view saying X system that way... how do I get the hyper lanes? and I've tried increasing the opacity of them in the settings but still nothing...
That was a slack notification sound at 35:07
I wonder how well a Stellaris Tactical Fleet and Ground Combat based game would sell?
Stellaris Tactics could play solo or could be a module that pauses Stellaris while the tactical game is invoked.
i wanna get seriously into Stellaris, as I have played a bit with a friend a while back. We used to play with DLCs (he hosted), and now it feels so empty without em. Any way to unlock the DLCs for solo play? (too poor to buy em XD)
so it seems like this is a game where you just look at the map and you don't actually control units so is this basically menu the game?
So I get trounced, how do you go back, see where i went wrong? Where are the graphs at the end of the game, that show me what i stuffed up? Did I expand too slow, too slow making stuff, too slow researching? All I got was a menu.
25:55 that's crazy my market tab has another section to it his doesn't... Wonder what it's for
New leader update guide?
Well, those are all some nice new features. But i have one question, did they remove the ship designer Menu? Because i can not find it anymore.
It's under the fleet designer
@@A_Spec thank you very much :)
Game Review! *clap clap!* ...sorry, I couldn't resist.
So far o am not liking the patch. One example is the confusing interface and interactions with leaders and councils. Is it just me or are we unable to add governors?
Tip: if you set your science ship to auto excavate dig sites you will find that it can get stuck saying its digging where there is no excavation site, it will just sit there and do nothing.
What is the reasoning behind not claiming the Gaia world? You said you wouldn't recommend it but didn't say why. Anyone have an answer?
For the Shed!
Thankyou im going to start on console is this similar if not same? This is going to be a challenge but it looks interesting, im coming off playing sports games an cod lol but im locked in for this game once i get the flow it is alot to take in, thanks for the video looking foward to next
It's similar, leaders work a bit differently
@1:10 You recommend turning off advanced "AI Empires", but the cursor indicated "Advanced AI Starts" (which is shown as 'Off'). Is that what you mean?
You move the slider down to zero.
@@A_Spec Yes, I did get that.
@1:10 "I would recommend turning off Advanced AI Empires"
You obviously meant to say "Advanced AI Starts". np, we've moved past that :)
So I had the legendary mechanic guy show up in my first game of the update, then shortly after started a different game and he showed up again. I spawned in the northwest of the universe map both times. Are they perhaps like the forerunner events and have zones of the map they're waiting in or something? Or was I just 'unlucky' to find the same dude instead of someone new?
It's based on your Ethic, I'm in the process of writing a video on this.
@@A_Spec Ah, that makes sense. Thanks for the heads up. I look forward to the vid!
Epic Fail! Everyone knows the first thing you do is push the like button, subscribe and set notifications to all. That's Stellaris 101.
Pro Stellaris tip: Set playback to .5 so you can listen to Stellaris advice from drunk ASpec.
ok Gallen 😂😂
One of these days Aspec will make a tutorial for the late game. I still don't know what to do with Battleships.
Thanks for making a tutorial without speed reading a script to shoehorn as much information as possible in a 2-hour video.
You're welcome!
I love the early game, so fun to explore and meet aliens and find new technologies. But by midgame I'm mired down by so much multi-planet management I just get overwhelmed and let my empire crash.
