As an added bonus tip if you build relations with the Zyarth Patriarchy (ZYA) or start as Spear of the Patriarch you can sell them captured ships for much higher values since their shipyard is usually quite low on resources.
Life saver, I just spent *ages* looking for the Perseus Vanguard from the map image on the Egosoft forums, which has it across to the top left of the map. Handy tip if you want to avoid spacesuit shenanigans, you can send a small fast ship out with a Pilot and one rookie Marine. Optionally have it explore the sector to actually find the ship, or direct it to when you know it's located, then when it's nice and close direct it to Claim the ship. The Marine hops across in a pod and promotes themselves to Pilot, then you order them to fly back to you. As a bonus, they don't seem susceptible to "Danger Zones" so can pick up the Drill without inconveniently exploding.
I've learned that it can be deceptively safe to get the Odysseus out of Faulty logic, but to do so may require some detours within the two sectors. Both the Minefield and Xenon Patrols tend to not stray too far from the center-point of the altitude, or Y axis 0. If for both faulty logics you opt to fly up/down whilst flying to a spot very far in front of the Superhighway (then gate to Holy Vision), you may have a spot high/low enough to not be spotted as easily. Coupled with being far, you can be clear of debris/mines and still fit into the Super highway and gate without needing to stop.
i went in with the perseus and used the momentum to get to the Odyssues, no damage. took some shield damage on the way out though....26h in and i already have a capital ship....cant be that bad for a first playthrough.
i'm so sorry for u flying out all the way to get the elite vanguard in an osprey. thanks for editing out the flight and thanks for this vid. brilliant vid. watched it all the way. to the breach! XD
Great video, never heard about the destroyer. And Osprey - I just love this space brick. Managed to kill a Xenon party of 2 PEs, 2 Ms and an N single handedly. Was left with about quarter of hull, but victory is victory.
Thanks for video... I just repair the date link most times... although interacting with it sometimes can be quicker as you have to hit it at the right angle sometimes repairing.
Once you claim the Odysseus, return back to your ship and send a NPC captain over get them to fly it out while you act as bait and pull everything away
I keep renaming my Odysseus to 'MFS - Terracotta' Edit: Also, if you're concerned about getting that brick out of xenon space, fly out first in your smaller faster ship leaving it behind with a captain. Then once you're out of system, tell the captain to fly out. When you're not in system, they don't have to worry about running into shit, they can b-line to the gate and skip out.
5:44 Whenever I go into the map view, my ship just drops out of travel mode. The only time it doesn't is when it's on autopilot. Is there a way to change this?
@@davecrupel2817 To clarify, this setting checks any device that has a key binding for throttle axis and sets your speed to the current throttle setting while in menus. So even if you've stopped your engines, if you had set the throttle to max earlier and go into menus, your ship speeds up to 100% throttle.

... they also have MK4 engines/ blueprints 😁
Great guide. Hope they add more free and unique ships in the future.
There is an additional Boron Mining ship to find if you have the "Kingdom End" DLC

Hey some new info here. I had found 2 of the free ships via youtube so far, but thanks for the extra four to add to my fleets!

Thanks for the list.
Can't really see half the time where exactly the ships are though because the map is too far zoomed in.
Thanks for crunching the numbers for us
