Lovely artwork... congrats ! When you were torching the work, it looked as if the flame was touching the piece; I thought you should always avoid this?
I have a question if I have a landscape paintings of acrylics can I add over these paintings resin or should I add acrylics varnish gloss because I'm confused and I don't know what should I add ?
Hi Amanda, Carol here again. I forgot to mention I also get fish eyes as my painting dries. I clean it carefully first with a wetwipe before applying the resin.. Please advise.
That sounds like you may be using silicone in your painting to where the resin pulls away from those areas creating the fish eyes. Again, another coat of resin should cover those areas. One coat just may not be enough. If you're still getting that, then you may need to use some flour to sock up the silicone and then wipe it off, or use some soap and water to get the silicone off.
I don't have a video like that but resin is self leveling so even if the canvas and paint isn't even, the resin will even out while it is curing. So an uneven painting won't matter!
It all depends on the resin. All of the ones that I use are a 1 to 1 ratio but there are other brands that are 2 to 1. So it just depends on what the instructions say for you!
@@amandasdesignsofficialis the resin also able to be used on wood and more? Hi Amanda I've just watched your video its very interesting. I haven't been able to find anyone do a video from start to finish with the resin. So the actual taping to the tape removal. My biggest question is when do you remove the tape? In my head I'm thinking if the resin isn't cured when u remove it ull still get drips but if it is cured then won't the tape rip and be stuck under the drips? Xx
Hii Amanda...great artworks dear 💫 I wanna ask u that what should i use for a acrylic portrait painting..."varnish or resin"..? (I wanna give that painting as a gift) Which one is the best option to make the painting look good....and fresh for a long time so that the resin don't turn yellowish..! Or can i do both varnish it and then resin ? Please must reply...!
Hi amanda, hope you are well, i applied a topcoat to my artwork, i used acrylic paint with the medium. After the resin coat the colours started to change. How can I prevent from the colours not changing after the resin top coat
@@amandasdesignsofficialWhat tape do you use Amanda? Is there a video where you show this taping process? My biggest frustration with resin has been the sides & the back of the canvas that I dont need resin on
Hi Amanda, my name is Carol from Sydney, Australia. My problem with resin is - I spread the resin carefully using rubber gloves but I notice when it starts to dry .the resin seems to pull away from the edges. I tape up the sides so the resin does not drip down. Am I doing something wrong?
Hi Carol, I find that can happen so I normally do two or three coats of resin to get a nice full coverage. I think since canvas can sag, the resin pulls towards the middle of the canvas and doesn't always stay around the edges well.
@@amandasdesignsofficial Thanks Amanda for your replies. I have not thought of doing more than one layer of resin. Maybe try to sandpaper it down abit and then try again. I always put a large piece of stiff cardboard behind the painting to support it before putting on the resin.
Would you like to see more videos like this one?
Yes I would
Yes
Yes I would❤❤
Great work .. thanks for sharing deae
Hi! Thank you! Do you use the torch on every layer? You wait to dry and then do another layer?
Yes I use a torch on every layer to remove air bubbles and yes I wait about 24 hours in between layers.
Looks beautiful Amanda don't see enough of you..Yep mask gloves and I measure also please share more ❤
Thank you!
Beautiful piece
Thank you very much!
Yes. It was helpful to me.
Glad you think so!
Muy buen día 😌🎶, ESPECTACULAR 😍!!!!! Gracias Desde Buenos Aires Argentina
Thank you so much!
Lovely artwork... congrats !
When you were torching the work, it looked as if the flame was touching the piece; I thought you should always avoid this?
Thank you! As long as it isn't in one place too long it won't burn the resin.
Thank you. How long do you wait for glued items on a canvas until you pour?
You mean pour the resin? I wait a few weeks.
Awesome. Very informative!
Glad it was helpful!
How do you keeping dust and hair out of your resin?
You can cover your pieces with a plastic bin or other items.
I have a question if I have a landscape paintings of acrylics can I add over these paintings resin or should I add acrylics varnish gloss because I'm confused and I don't know what should I add ?
You could do either resin or varnish. It just depends on your preference.

Super helpful, thank you!

How do you get rid of the drippings on the sides?
I tape the back off and that removes the drips.
If u dont have kitchen torch, what shud we use?
A heat gun would also work.
Hi amanda...i have seen oyher videos and they said the ratio was 2:1 so...wud u please help me what to do ...

Hi the ratio will be 2:1 right?
Hi! No, the ratio for the resin is 1 to 1.
Beautiful piece! Does the weight of the resin make the canvas sag?
It can, but I try and do a couple of thinner layers so that it won't all settle in the middle.
Thank you. I loved it. I have a question. Did you prepare the back of the canvas on the back so it didn't absorb the resin?
Thank you! No I did not do anything special to the back. The resin doesn’t really absorb into the canvas.

is there always two parts to make resin or is there a way that its already mixed so i wouldn't have to buy two bottles?
I believe there is always two parts since the hardener activates the resin. I do not believe there is anything premixed.
Did you use your hands do all 3 coats?
Does this way work on any size canvas?
Yes I use my hands for all layers. Smaller canvases are easier to do but yet you can use resin on any size canvas.
@@amandasdesignsofficial great!!!!
How do u pour resin on rhinestones, beads etc?
I use it like glue, put some resin on the canvas and put the stones in it. Let it cure and then you can continue to add more resin.

I use varnish on some pieces and resin on smaller pieces. Any kind of resin can yellow over time. Varnish should not yellow.
Mam is this cotton canvas
Yes this is stretched canvas.
How long does it take for the resin to dry?
Resin takes 24-72 hours to cure.
Can I use a heat gun instead of the torch?
Yes a heat gun will remove all of the bubbles too.
Hi amanda, hope you are well, i applied a topcoat to my artwork, i used acrylic paint with the medium. After the resin coat the colours started to change. How can I prevent from the colours not changing after the resin top coat
There is always a chance that the resin will yellow so you may want to use a clear varnish instead.
How do you fix the drips in the back
A dremel takes them right off.
Is it a specific resin because every tome I do it the canvas absorbs all the resin and it looks like I didn’t even do it
Art Resin is a good brand. I've never had resin absorb into the canvas, that doesn't sound right.
Very helpful thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Great video! Do you scrape the sides or let the resin continue to drip off?
I let the resin drip.
How long after painting should i wait to resin? I live in barbados where is 90% hot.
Most people say to wait at least 30 days.
How do you remove the drips from the edges?
Dremel works well. I also tape the back and that helps to remove most of them.
@@amandasdesignsofficial thanks very much

Morning. Thanks for the video. Just a couple of questions. How much resin did you use to cover the piece and how big is your piece? TIA
This is a 10 inch x 20 inch canvas. I don't measure the resin.
I love your beautiful work! How long does it take the resin to cure?
Thank you! The resin hardens within 24 hours but takes a few days to cure. For coasters, I let them sit for a few weeks before using them.

i could see certain types of paint reacting with resin under heat and making it cloudy
I've heard that it can become cloudy especially if there is still too much moisture in the paint too.
Por que me quedan hoyos en mi lienzo?
If your canvas is showing through, your paint mixture may be too thin.
I have prepared mandala art on cotton canvas but I am scared to use resin . Can I use on cotton canvas
Yes you can!
Can i use heat gun instead of torch gun?
Yes a heat gun would also work to remove air bubbles.
