      You could do either resin or varnish. It just depends on your preference.

    Hi Amanda, Carol here again. I forgot to mention I also get fish eyes as my painting dries. I clean it carefully first with a wetwipe before applying the resin.. Please advise.

    • @amandasdesignsofficial
      @amandasdesignsofficial  2 года назад

      That sounds like you may be using silicone in your painting to where the resin pulls away from those areas creating the fish eyes. Again, another coat of resin should cover those areas. One coat just may not be enough. If you're still getting that, then you may need to use some flour to sock up the silicone and then wipe it off, or use some soap and water to get the silicone off.

    Hi! Thank you! Do you use the torch on every layer? You wait to dry and then do another layer?

    • @amandasdesignsofficial
      @amandasdesignsofficial  6 месяцев назад +3

      Yes I use a torch on every layer to remove air bubbles and yes I wait about 24 hours in between layers.

    Do you have a video of re resining a canvas that was uneven drying issues. Do you have to sand the painting before the next coat?

    • @amandasdesignsofficial
      @amandasdesignsofficial  23 дня назад

      I don't have a video like that but resin is self leveling so even if the canvas and paint isn't even, the resin will even out while it is curing. So an uneven painting won't matter!

    i could see certain types of paint reacting with resin under heat and making it cloudy

    • @amandasdesignsofficial
      @amandasdesignsofficial  11 месяцев назад +1

      I've heard that it can become cloudy especially if there is still too much moisture in the paint too.

I was looking for the specific resin for the acrylic canvas paintings but it seems like it’s resin for wood and arts and crafts.🤦🏽‍♀️💯. I need to finish resin for my paintings so they can sell better. And be more effective for purchase. Please let me know.thank you.👍🏽

      It can, but I try and do a couple of thinner layers so that it won't all settle in the middle.

    Hi Amanda I've just watched your video its very interesting. I haven't been able to find anyone do a video from start to finish with the resin. So the actual taping to the tape removal. My biggest question is when do you remove the tape? In my head I'm thinking if the resin isn't cured when u remove it ull still get drips but if it is cured then won't the tape rip and be stuck under the drips? Xx

    • @amandasdesignsofficial
      @amandasdesignsofficial  Год назад

      I remove the tape once the resin is dry. The tape remove the drips underneath very easily.

      I use it like glue, put some resin on the canvas and put the stones in it. Let it cure and then you can continue to add more resin.

    Hii Amanda...great artworks dear 💫
    I wanna ask u that what should i use for a acrylic portrait painting..."varnish or resin"..? (I wanna give that painting as a gift)
    Which one is the best option to make the painting look good....and fresh for a long time so that the resin don't turn yellowish..!
    Or can i do both varnish it and then resin ?
    Please must reply...!

    • @amandasdesignsofficial
      @amandasdesignsofficial  Год назад

      I use varnish on some pieces and resin on smaller pieces. Any kind of resin can yellow over time. Varnish should not yellow.

    • @amandasdesignsofficial

      There is always a chance that the resin will yellow so you may want to use a clear varnish instead.

    Hi Amanda, my name is Carol from Sydney, Australia. My problem with resin is - I spread the resin carefully using rubber gloves but I notice when it starts to dry .the resin seems to pull away from the edges. I tape up the sides so the resin does not drip down. Am I doing something wrong?

    • @amandasdesignsofficial
      @amandasdesignsofficial  2 года назад +1

      Hi Carol, I find that can happen so I normally do two or three coats of resin to get a nice full coverage. I think since canvas can sag, the resin pulls towards the middle of the canvas and doesn't always stay around the edges well.

    • @carolsegal5451
      @carolsegal5451 2 года назад +2

      @@amandasdesignsofficial Thanks Amanda for your replies. I have not thought of doing more than one layer of resin. Maybe try to sandpaper it down abit and then try again. I always put a large piece of stiff cardboard behind the painting to support it before putting on the resin.
