    your live comparisons are fantastic, the idea to use the catch cup for measurement is really cool. i just dialed in light, very fresh (roasted 9 days ago) 18gm of Ethiopian coffee, at 33 clicks on the K6 , using the Flair Pro2 (45.5mm basket) . turned to be an amazing brew. i love the K6, but light roasts at fine settings..are quite hard to grind

    well that's a genius idea to use the catch cup to measure the beans before pouring into the top. i'll have to switch to that method with my k6.

    My Baratza Sette 270 died and I need a grinder while I wait for repair/service. Trying to decide between the K4 and K6. Thank you for this video!

    The K4 has a layer of titanium on the burrs whereas the K6 is steel burrs with no coating; the K6 might feel easier because it's got a different pattern but they should be extremely similar especially if you have the same clicks. One thing to note about Kingrinder is that the "0" is not true zero so it's skewed if you haven't tightened it to the max before setting the clicks.
    One other thing.. should level the grinder while hand grinding.

      I would prefer to tilt the grinder at an angle while grinding and in this way, it will allow slower feeding of the beans to the grinding core.

    You said that the K6 was better since it was more efficient with grinding and due to the Titanium coated burrs, but isn't it the other way around? The K4 having titanium coated burrs but the K6 having stainless steel?

    Awesome comparison👍 , it shows that despite having recommendations from the someone else (in this case the manufacturer) there is an adjusting process of trial and error to get the best extraction. I hope you can do a similar video for pour over. Thank you!

    Some have recommended the K6 as a great *overall* budget grinder, but would the K4 be a better overall budget grinder than the K6, if one used a coffee sifter after making coarser grinds for pour overs? The K4 is said to be better for espresso grinds than the K6, but not so much at coarser grinds, due to excessive fines.

      I have the K4 and for anything that than espresso I have not enjoyed it. The K6 is a better choice as you can grind filter and espresso and have a good cup. Have not tried them head to head but I prefer the K6 for espresso. The K4 is a more blended in taste but has more texture.

    Further evidence that knowing your grinder to help dial in is granted. Additionally, knowing that beans origin and roast level are extremely dependent upon the right grind size. I am living in Puebla, Mexico right now and surrounded by some of the worlds best growing regions for coffee. (Veracruz, Oaxaca, and Veracruz). In my k6 using the same medium roast Oaxaca bourbon and typica from 1600 meter elevation, roasted on 9/15/2023 (20 days ago from this post), and I am at 33 clicks from 0. Each click is 16 micrometers (um) per the manufacturer. Another bean from the state of Puebla, medium roast, 1300 meter elevation requires 30 clicks from 0. Overall, I really really like my K6 for espresso using my Flair 58. I have another 9 months to test and taste a lot of amazing beans from nearby and the roasted by skilled roasters. I couldn't be happier right now. lol

    Why are you using the puck screen on this side? The manual shows that the other side is the correct.

      It would be nice if you can measure the grinding time(and how much force you use) for the same extraction time for both grinders

    Bom vídeo!
    Minha sugestão:
    No K4, dependendo do café utilizo nos espressos entre o click 55 ao 65.
    Na maioria dos cafés utilizo o click 57. Sai um espresso bem encorpado e boa acidez.

      Amigo, você faz a contagem a partir do zero do moedor ou você encontrar o seu ponto zero a partir do momento que a manopla não mexe mais?

    • @xapuri11
      @xapuri11 3 месяца назад

      @@Mateus.Sanches A contagem sempre contada a partir do zero. A título de informação, os clicks anteriores ao zero não alteram as lâminas.
      Se por acaso o seu moedor trabalha 4 ou 5 clicks antes do zero, você pode confiar que o último movimento das lâminas se deu no zero.
      Se você pesquisar no site do fabricante e aqui no RUclips você encontrará essa explicação.

    With all due respect and being thankful for the comparison, I do think it’s better for us if you dial in first the grinders instead of having 2/3 of the 30 minute video for that.

    You had the puck screen in wrong. The fine mesh side needs to touch the coffee.

  • @morgant6508
    @morgant6508 Год назад +1

    You can change the side on the hand for a second grinding, it is less tired than the same side if you grind two times in a row.
    And I think it is better if you grind with the grinder horizontaly and not to the side in your hand, no ? Maybe a little more difficult but I think the grind is maybe better and go faster, the grains do not deep to one side. (But really not sure, it is my grandpa who asked to me if I grind horizontaly and not the side xD)
    Edit ; when i say horizontally, it is like if the grinder is on a table, so maybe "vertically" is better, or maybe perpendicular to the ground xD :-p
    And I dont know for the K4 and I don't do espresso with my K6 but I tried for moka pot 60 to 90 and 60 is really fine, the taste is too strong for my moka pot. 65 is still strong. At this moment, I try between 70 and 80 but since I tried between 80 and 90, 70-80 seems too strong now :-p What I want to say is that it is not surprising me if you don't have to set the grinder not too hard (/fine).
    I never tried but when I see what is the result with set around 40, I think the Kingrinder can do turkish coffee, no ?

    He didn’t get the fact right. K4 is titanium coated, K6 is s/s. He kept repeating the same points over and over again, not informative.
