    Shit Howard, that is just so much better than Henry ever managed. Lovely work. I'm currently on a Mustang and I think everyone that worked at the San Jose plant in April 1965, or likely any other time too, should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. They just threw them together. Thanks again for the content.

    As always, I learn so much from you about working metal. Between you and Adamson Auto, I've been brave enough to try an work out some pretty creased damage on a Ford Territory I have. I'm far from professional in any sense and have practiced heaps on old panel metal but I've got it to a place it only needs light skimming. Of couse I'd love to achieve a resut that needs no filler but as I said, I'm no professional and I'm just having a crack but I reckon by the time I get finishing coats on it, most folk wouldn't know. AND I feel better because I know I've dealt with rust and used as little filler as I possibly could.

    Thanks for your advice, it helps a lot. One day when you get spare time could you give some do's and don'ts when using deoxydine / rainex, I am struggling to beat the flash rust, but other times I win and don't see rust for a week. Any help would be appreciated.

      There is a video on metal prep and the deoxididine process, have a look right at the end. ruclips.net/video/68lBpckQK18/видео.htmlsi=JYlH3_8DlbSsc3XJ

    Howard, just reflecting on your seams and interfaces between multiple panels. I'm currently working through how we are going to finish off the bottom panel under the rear window of my xb coupe. Specifically the end of those panels where they attach to the rear quater and the boot channel. There is a small gap between panels in the internal corners which I believe was filled with brass from factory. My panel beater is debating between welding the gap up or using a panel bond. What do you use to fill those spaces up in your builds?

    • @AstillDesign
      @AstillDesign  10 дней назад

      I normally fully weld and cut the panel gap back in. For concourse they are spot welded and seam sealed. Not very effective long term.

    No Doubt with your attention to detail it will end up at shows as much as your saying your keeping it as an Original state.
    Are you going to sand back the ID number constantly that is on the Shock Tower so at the end of the build it looks genuine ?

    • @AstillDesign
      @AstillDesign  19 дней назад +1

      It will be avoided right up until final colour other wise you wont be able to read it.

    This is great stuff. Just a quick question, my XB is wrinkled on the firewall next to the 2 vertical line in the middle. I have been told it looks like it was in a bingle but another said its just from the stamping process. Any thoughts. Great stuff once again.
