Imagine the plot twist if Russia actually started making these. I'd hate to be a Ukrainian pilot in a mig-29 or f-16 going up against something that agile. The f-15 might even get a bit worried about losing that k/d ratio. But in the days of stealth fighters avoiding detection all together, they likely won't be making non-stealth fighters like this. tl;dr - Thank God Russia only has 1 of these things.
Russians have always preferred agility over stealth. Check out the su 57 videos. That thing does wonders in the sky. And with the latest engines saturn izdilye 30 and new stealth coating, the jet is said to be as stealthy as an f35. Good luck for Ukraine they don't have much of those, YET.
But then again, the forward swept wing design makes the wings more prone to ripping right off on a high-speed turn. The wing design is positioned against the air flow, rather than positioned to better cut through the air, so to speak.
@@AWACS_Eagle_Eye the wings aren't designed aligned to the body of the plane, but with a slight downward tilt angle, rendering being broken by air drag almost impossible. Also their is a video of sukhoi beureo testing wings for drag and they go crazy about it. Its not that they made it like that without consideration.
As much as many people mistakes this as a fighter jet in reality It is designed and developed as a test bed for future aircrafts. US done the same back in 70s. I'm sure modern jets that russia produced includes many things learn from this.
Berkut would've made an excellent Star Wars starfighter~
That was George Lukas loss
Beautiful beast
