Adam is a character who has a complex background but you don’t see that till later, but I’m so looking forward to you getting further into the show
Villains shouldn’t monologue in a battle, they’re less wary like that, you absolutely got wholesome wisdom of words I like to say that, seeing Blake get pushed down from that guy is emotional. Jean is worried for Pyrrha losing sight on guarding really changed up the plan to see transplant the Autum`s gift in Pyrrha.

Well, you figure her aura is down when Adam stabs her. And when your aura is down, you can't use your semblance. So the confusion is justified. But so is the relief.
@@ChaosArdor It's also and majorly so the fact that the audience never got a moment where it was greatly detailed what happens when Blake's semblance takes a hit. Before this, it was just quick and the semblance disappeared. The purposeful lingering slow-mo combined with the very distinct head separated from her body wasn't something that anyone could have connected and rationalized.
@@onemuststand7353 Yeah, around this time was when some semblances were being inconsistent such as Ruby's getting kicked by Mercury. Or characters not using theirs during this battle which could have helped in some way.

I'm all aboard saying Adam was a horrible person in this episode, but "he hits women" sounds a bit silly, this show makes a point in making absolutely no difference between men and women in terms of fighting, Blake being a woman is not the issue. Maybe go with "hits innocent good people while calling them love" 😂

Weiss did have her semblance before this. All of those glyphs we see around her constantly are her semblance. It's just that her semblance has multiple aspects to it and the summoning part was the part she couldn't do before. This was her first time doing it and while she didn't summon the full thing, she did summon its arm and sword.
Yep, and now Winter's lines make more sense: "think back to your fallen foes, the ones that pushed you to become the person you are today, and watch as they come to your side." (from memory, sorry for errors!)
That knight/Arma Gigas was her first rally hard fight.
People often miss the part where Weiss's first successful summon in combat was in defense of a faunus.
She's come a long way.
Weiss's semblance is the only one that comes with a skilltree.
@@highlander31527 Yeah, her development, both in terms of her personality and her abilities, is probably one of the best in the show.
@@skyknight0408 No spoilers, but since the Schnee's are the only family confirmed so far to have a semblance genetically passed down, they are the most skilled and knowledgeable at unlocking aspects of their semblances. Others can unlock different aspects of their semblances too.
They just have to figure out how, but Weiss's semblance comes with sort of an instruction manual through experience of her elders.
My favourite part of watching people react to RWBY is always this episode. When the show just... absolutely blindsides the viewer with all this crazy shit. Roman's death, Cinder gaining the Maiden powers and Yang losing an arm. Three massive events that just shake up what the first two volumes had us expecting happening back to back to back.
Penny's death was the first "You thought this was a kid's show?" moment. This one just complemented it. The next episode made it permanent.

Quite an impactful episode and it’s not even the finale! Reminds us of Game of Thrones where they had the most impactful episode be the penultimate of each season 🤩

Velvets semblance isn't the weapons, she can perfectly mimic fighting stles. The camera makes hard light versions of any weapon she photographs, this consumes the picture. To me the fact that to use Penny's swords she loses her picture
Watching Velvet bust out Penny's weapon almost makes me cry everytime for that exact reason. One of my favorite fight scenes in the series
@@frogganator3918 I haven't watched rwby since as they first aired and fell off around volume 5-6 because of life reasons, i've been using these to rewatch them before delving deeper after they reach where i was; I completely forgot that she used Penny's swords and, man, you aren't the only one whom that brings tears to.

Well, seeing the person you care about the most in the world flying off to their death and then ranting about all your biggest frustrations and issues probably isn't the best of moods.
I love the "I may fall" sequence. Velvet finally gets to show off what she can do. And character growth for Weiss. Not only does she successfully use her summoning ability, but she uses it to defend a faunus. Best girl.
So many people miss that point of Weiss's character growth. To break her block to defend someone who at the start of the series she would have inherently not trusted... It's a key moment that gets lost in the awesomeness of the rest of the episode
I'm going to add that she didn't KNOW she could summon at this point. She was willing to take that hit HERSELF to save someone.
Srsly, my favorite scene in the whole show.
what I love is that they built up Velvets weapon and power through out this season. they showed her taking photos and when ever we say the photos they didn't look good. the angles wer off peoples heads we cut off but, once you know what the power is if you go back and look at the pictures... the person isn't the focus they aren't shot well but there weapons are perfectly in frame.
Shame that we literally will never see her entire team again for the rest of the volumes currently out lol.

That moment when Velvet uses Penny's weapon, it was adorable how in sync you two were. Confused head tilt, gasp, "Penny's!"

Adam wasn't supposed to be like that. He was supposed to be more complicated then what we got. Unfortunately as what has become common place in the show post monty they made Adam what he is now as a self insert for Blake's VAs supposed abusive ex.

With all you said about Adam, have you guessed who his based off of?
The answer: Adam is based on Gaston from beauty and the Beast. His ego and delusions are meant to be this way. From this point on you will see how far down this path he will go
He's more like the beast from the original Fairy tale, not the Disney version. Belle was never involved with Gaston, but Blake was definitely "with" Adam. There is a mix of characters in Adam, but CRWBY tried to go with references to original fairy tales, and not the thoroughly sanitized and commercialized Disney versions, at least for the first three volumes.
Actually Blake is based on Bell and the beast , so adam is not just Gaston, he's also the rose , basically he is a curse for blake in two ways

"I don't care what you say! We will stop them and I still stop you! BET ON THAT!" This is my favorite Ruby line and cemented her as my favorite character.
It was such a great hero moment. Then she gets thrashed seconds later. I still laugh at that writing decision

@@onemuststand7353 I mean, I understand because she sucks at hand-to-hand combat and Roman can put up a fight even against Blake and Sun in V1, but I hated that she didn't beat him up or at least get a hit.

8:38 - 8:41 I mean most of his fights Roman has fought by myself before he did against Ruby in the very first episode, he fought against Blake and Sun in the finale of volume 1 ALONE and he battle against team rwby, Sun and Neptune when he was in the mech and he fought Blake again in volume 2 in the train ALONE. For most of his fights, dude fought alone and held his own against multiple people I'm just saying.
I love everyone's surprise at velvet cause they shocked when the remember that velvet has been taking pictures all semester and her semblance is ededic memory. Coco even said make them count.

''hey, you spent all semester building that up, don't waste it here'', all we see in that episode is her doing some kicks when CFVY rolls in

When Velvet show's Ruby her pictures back in 3x8 it's clearly focused on Sun's weapon; she didn't even get Sun's whole head in the frame.

Also, c'mon, Torchwick has been repeatedly ganged up on throughout the show BY the heroes! He fought Sun and Blake together at the docks and handled them easily, then fought all of team RWBY at once (with a mecha aide, but still). You can hardly complain about the one time he gets an ally to assist.
Wiess didn't *just* get her semblance; she had her semblance the entire show. Those glyphs ARE her semblance, through which she can channel dust effects. It's just that her semblance also includes summoning of defeated foes, which is what she's struggled with. And this was only a partial summon, the arm is missing the rest of the knight it's attached too, as we saw from her trailer.
Also, since we're close to the end of the season, remember that before season 4 there's a few more things to watch; a Ruby character short, and 4-8 more World of Remnant videos. The first 4 of those are about the kingdoms and go in the order of "Vale", "Mistral", "Atlas" and "Vacuo." The order is important. These 4 were released before the season and are intended to be viewed beforehand, alongside the Ruby short.
The last 4 WoR's were released between episodes throughout volume 4, and are titled ""Between Kingdoms", "Faunus", "Schnee Dust Company" and "The Great War." You can safely watch these before volume 4 alongside the other stuff as well and I'd recommend doing all of them at once, rather than trying to slot them in later. It's just easier that way.

@@chrisk3127 To be fair though, things were different when he had just lost Neo. He wasn’t about to run away and let Ruby get away with it. Also, perhaps more importantly (given his speech to Ruby about his motivations), he knew that if he abandoned his post at this most crucial point in the plan, then Cinder would surely come and kill him (and possibly Neo too).
I've been so excited to see you guys get to this point of the series, you had stellar reactions. And believe me, the community was going wild when this came out.
So much happens in this one episode! They did such an amazing job writing this episode to hit every emotion possible in viewers.

Adam isnt' just a manipulator, he also fell into this madness himself, he lost himself in his hatred. And he's really scary and menacing villain here.
This episode stands out to me for three big reasons. Even with all the rest of the series that followed.
1) The sudden…departures…of both Neo and Roman. It was SO fast that it didn’t really sink in right away. But with hindsight, it made sense. They’re MINOR villains next to the likes of Cinder and Adam, and their roles were essentially over.
2) Velvet’s battle. Seeing both her weapon and semblance at work was absolutely AMAZING. No wonder she was Monty’s favorite. And Weiss finally breaking through her own barrier to make even an incomplete summoning was just icing on the awesome cake.
3) The ending. OH boy, that ending. I did NOT take it well. I still don’t, to be honest. But the first time I saw this episode, I was in too much shock to do anything but watch as the hits kept coming, tears streaming. Once the credits started rolling, THAT’S when I actually started screaming. Pure rage and anguish.
RIP Torchwick bro.
The next episode is about to break them…….

This has been the day we've waited for.
Just so you know, for whenever you get to the Yang Vs. Tifa Death Battle, it was made some time before Yang lost her arm, so it doesn't cover that.
To be a bit more specific, it was released between Seasons 2 and 3. So they can watch it anytime.
The speech Blake gave Yang about how she has issues trusting people she sees be violent. The person that started out committing violence as “accidents” and then it kept getting progressively worse. That was Adam

“He’s fighting for himself that’s a frist”
Forgetting the fact Roman fought solo against Sun and Blake and was even going to fight Blake solo on the train and he even showed he took out rwby solo DESPITE loosing both times and getting eaten on the ruby one XD
And Roman did get hugged by neo, he dose care for neo they were always together before the events of the story that’s why the team up was so good and to him that’s all he needed, as long as he and her made it through, got paid, etc it was all good for him.
I agree with your analysis. Very good example of a narrative that is not quite right yet takes on a life of it's own. @Ken and Beth: please don't take this as harsh criticism, it's super easy to happen and I've been there and done that (while watching RWBY among other things).
Roman just has a very clear grasp on his priorities: He flees in V1C1 not because he doesn't want to fight, but because his original goal is thwarted (goons taken out, authorities sure to arrive soon), in V1C16 he holds his own vs Sun + Blake and escapes when Penny interferes. He fights RWBY + Sun & Neptune in V2E4 and flees because he's cornered in a 1v4, then again he loses to Blake on the train, but that's mostly because he's caught off guard by the ice dust + semblance combination which I assume is rare (Weiss gave Blake the ice dust in an earlier scene, so it seems likely that the average huntress-in-training wouldn't easily have access to it otherwise).
Also re: Neo: the Grimm attacks Roman very shortly after Neo goes Mary Poppins. Her disappearance seems to have caused at least some negative feelings. To anyone who hasn't done so before, look at grimm behavior. There is quite a bit of interesting movement by individual grimm:
- the one we just talked about with Torchwick getting eaten after Neo is gone and he goes on his existential rant (refocusing his thoughts on the fact that he didn't really want to be there, to quote him from earlier: "It's what I can't afford to lose").
- the grimm that attacks Ruby as she lands on the robot control airship (watch Ruby during V3E10, she's clearly tense while looking after Ironwood and then shocked and scared as he gets shot down).
- the grimm in the scene where Weiss and Blake separate heads towards the building in which Adam is attacking civilians.
- the grimm inside the building goes after Blake (who is likely scared and also horrified and disgusted by what Adam has become), but it hasn't attacked him. Adam does not have any negative feeling about hurting Blake, on the contrary, he has whatever passes for positive feelings for him, because in his mind, he has Blake back.
- after Blake and Yang both get away alive, only THEN is he attacked by another grimm.

edit: Adam is easily the most detestable antagonist/villain of the show. Roman has charisma and charm, Neo is just a badass, and Cinder over these past 2 volumes has shown cunning and clever planning. Adam has no redeeming qualities. He's just trash. :)

Agreed! It is one of my favorite moments of the volume! I absolutely love her weapon reveal, and I May Fall is one of my favorite RWBY songs.

I still can't help but get chills every time the music starts in that scene ever after seeing it so many times
Remember what Blake said a few episodes about Yang attacking Mercury? "At first it was an accident, then it was self-defense, eventually even I thought he was right " Adam took a long time to show his true colors to Blake, which eventually led to her leaving the White Fang, as seen in the Black Trailer
well he didn't start as a POS he was originally a victim that wanted to stand up for others, then he got pats on the back by higher up White Fang members for doing what he had to and ended up seeing that as the way forward
Weiss' semblance is her glyphs. She had the semblance, just not the knowledge of how to use the summoning aspect of it. It kinda becomes an issue in the next few seasons.

This is just a crazy Episode where so much happens and is always one of the most fun to watch people react to.
Adam being one of if not my favourite characters in the whole series getting to actually talk and fight a bit is so awesome to me.
I remember this season was airing when my brother was living with me, we were both screaming at the monitor the entire ending of this episode. The shock and disbelief was audible down the street.
Lol I have watched nearly everything you guys have put out and I've never heard you guys curse that much before. This show starts out nice and sweet but now we are at the point in season 3 where you either continue or quit. Once you finish season 3 I strongly recommend RWBY Chibi as it was dropped after season 3 was meant to heal the audience.
P.S. Blake mentioned in season 2 her partner Adam. Again in season 3 when Yang was set up. He changed but it wasn't sudden. Ready to see your reaction to the finale guys as always no spoilers I'm just here to support.
This episode is such a masterful example of rise and fall. This episode starts out going really well for our heroes. Roman’s dead, Neo is off the board for the moment, Weiss finally learned how to summon (at least partially), Ironwood’s back in play, and Velvet’s epic reveal of her skills. It’s all going so well.
But alas, with the shot of an arrow, the entire tone of this episode shifts. The Fall Maiden is dead, Cinder gets the rest of the powers, Blake’s been stabbed, and Yang is disarmed.
It’s just… it’s so good. Bad for our heroes but so good for writing.
Yang can be strategic. We saw it in the FNKI fight. Once she refocused she broke the arena so that Neon couldn’t skate and then took out Flynt so that Neon would be off beat regardless. And she has lost before. Neo kicked her butt in V2. Granted Neo’s fighting style seems to revolve around a lot of dodging and then smaller attacks so it really was the worst match up for Yang. Yang was also running on barely any sleep. But even Yang was starting to figure out how to counter Neo when she managed to grab her only for Neo to stop playing around because of this and knock her out. Yang’s not stupid in a fight. Even here with Adam, like… what was she supposed to do? Just stand there and think for a second when Adam could attack Blake again? She doesn’t know who this guy is or what he’s capable of. And on top of that she’s had such an emotionally draining day even before the world fell apart and has been fighting nonstop for a while looking for Blake who she just watched get stabbed by some random dude. Of course her response is gonna be more instant.
Sorry for the long ramble there, people still give Yang so much crap for this and it’s just so frustrating. Not saying you were but it’s just… a thing.

I don't know if anyone has explained this already, so I will, just in case.
Velvet's Weapon-Semblance combo is possibly one of the strongest in the entire series. Her camera, Anesidora, allows her to create hard-light constructs of any weapon (potentially anyTHING) she takes a picture of with it. However, the trade-off is that she loses the picture in doing so. That's why Coco told her to "make 'em count."
Normally, this would be useless without the skill or knowledge of how to use said weapons, but that's where her Semblance comes in. Her is Semblance is, appropriately, Photographic Memory. It allows her accurately mimic the moves and techniques of other combatants, however she can't copy moves that require the use of a Semblance.
Combine these factors together, and you have an incredibly versatile and powerful warrior that can turn the tide of a battle when used properly. Her only limitations are the photos she has stored up, and the amount of Hard-Light Dust she has on hand.
Velvet’s weapon is her camera. When she takes a picture of a weapon she can then use it through the use of her weapons hardlight dust. However she can only use the weapon only a few times before the picture disappears. Her semblance is also photographic memory which allows her to copy and mimic others fighting styles perfectly
Velvets weapon and semblance is soooooo dope there rumors of her popping back up in volume 10 I hope so
So we have the names of Velvets Weapons and Semblance in the books (Also Velvet is best girl).
Velvets weapon is called "Anesidora" a camera which uses Hard-Light Dust to make copies of weapons she has photographed, they only last a few hits though.
And her Semblance is called "Photographic Memory" she can copy peoples fighting styles that she's seen but she can't copy the persons semblance so she can fight like Yang in terms of technique but she can't pull off the "mech punch" like Yang did to the mech Roman was using in Volume 2 or to use someone from this Volume she could use Adams Weapon ike he does but she couldn't pull off the giant hit Adam landed on Yang.
I have watched so many reactions to rwby over the past couple years from different content creators, but watching yang’s arm get cut off by Adam again still gives me chills
Still think the way they killed torchwic kinda sucks, he was honestly my favorite antagonist in the show.

yknow i remember watching this years and years ago, and im only now questioning it. How did Blake use her Semblance after Adam stabbed her? Wouldn't she have to have been depleted if she got stabbed?
Aura isn’t automatic. Maybe she took down her defensive Aura to conserve a tiny bit to make a clone for her to escape if Adam got distracted by a Grimm or something? You have a very good point, though
Maybe it was just strong enough to go through her aura withouth breaking it , weiss started to bleed in her trailer but still had enough aura to destroy the knight
Or maybe she recovered her aura during the 3h45min of Adam monologuing on retribution , destiny ,the cost of tuxedos, betrayal, slavery and whatnots

So the bunny is their Task Master with a Green Lantern style weapon? What even is power scaling in this series?
Just to make it clear, Weiss had her semblance since the begining, the glyphs are her semblance, they can do a lot of things, from grap something and being a platform or a wall, to shoots lasers of dust and manipulate time acceleration and gravity in someone, but summon is the hability that is considered the most powerfull and the one that Weiss had more trouble to do, she now have unblock that part of her semblance, but is still the same semblance.
PS. Ah and Roman Torchwick is an excellent fighter by his own, do you remember how he blocked all the hits from Sun's nunchuks? Yeah, Sun looked awesome doing that, but he didnt land any hit, neighter did Blake, both attaking at the same time, and Roman blocked all of them like it was piece of cake, and that dude doesn't have a semblance! Yeah, he is a dutchback and likes to cheat fighting 2 on 1 with Neo but, like he said, he just do on what he is best, lie and cheat, still, he should not be underestimated in a 1 on 1 fight.
And just like that the show starts throwing away characters with character growth potential 😔

Fact 1: Most of the moves that Velvet performs with everyone's weapons are taken directly from each weapon's first appearance.
Fact 2: The fight between Neo and Ruby was partially Monty Oum's work.

Man this episode is so full of emotions and shock value to break the core inside all people. Also it seems crazy that I just watched the newest helluva boss episode today and it just made it shocking value more after watching this reaction to RWBY. 😵💫 so much craziness
9:09 I saw this someone else comment on this in another video - the person said it actually made a lot of sense for Torchwick to die just like that: there was a lot of grimm flying around them but mostly ignoring them cuz they are attracted to bad emotions and Torchwick was having fun on the ship wrecking havoc until he told Ruby that the real world is cruel and unfair, which shifted his emotions from "having fun" to "angry" - which then caught the grimm's attention and it ate him :""D

As janky and awkward the velvet scene is, it is a seriously cool semblance and homage to the trailers, characters, and even Monty to an extent with the re-imagined shots.
I can’t remember if it was season 1 or 2 but Blake does say that he didn’t start out that way however I dunno if thats just manipulation or if he was genuinely a better person. In the flashbacks he seemed like a decent leader like even defying cinder until she came in with maiden powers.

Come to the Darkside, We have COOKIES ! Also, Velvet's semblence is to instinctively know how to use anyone's physical weapon and can mix and match new fighting combos all her own. Her father is an electronics engineer and helped her develop the Hard Light Camera she uses to reproduce the weapons she takes a picture of, for about 10 seconds before they fade.
Manipulation can be a very powerful tool. Especially if it's made to look like respect or love!!
I was in a similar situation with this girl in my streamer friend group and I got to know her for a couple of years... or at least I thought I did. In that time we played a lot of video games and did a ton of projects together and I remember thinking how talented she was and I respect her for it!!
However there were instance of her lashing out at people whenever they did or said something that she didn't like. Even if it was just a joke. And I was concerned about it and I would talk to her about it. Everytime I did though she'd say the same thing of "It's nothing to worry about." And I believed her, clinging on to the idea that the person I respected was still there!!
Then one day she did something that was kinda criminal. And this time when I confronted her about it, she showed no remorse of any kind. Saying "I'm the victim here and I don't deserve to be treated like this." It got so out of hand that I started losing faith in her and I was forced to cut her out of my life. But even then, I still had regrets!!"
Then a few months later news about her private activities on social media started to surface. I won't go into detail but they were disgusting and horrible acts. It was here that I finally realized that I was just being used. She never respect me, she only saw me as a means to grow her fame and to satisfy her God complex!!
So yeah. As someone who went through the same thing, I don't blame Blake for being tricked into following a scumbag like Adam. And the fact that she broke away from him and even fought him shows how strong she really is. Blake's earned my respect and unlike Adams, it's legit!!

*MY COMMENTS*
- Think of Velvet as Team CFVY's "secret weapon". Even though her weapon copies can't last long, she can still perfectly copy all the fighting techniques she's seen the originals use. And yeah, her "I May Fall" sequence is pretty much a love letter to the late Monty Oum, bringing back some of the many moves he's animated.
- Remember what Grimm are attracted to? With the state of mind Roman was in (and how blinding rage can be), it's no surprise he ended up becoming Grimm food.
- The Tin Man was a human woodcutter who had to gradually replace more and more of his body with metal - the same kinda happened with Ironwood.
- The music at the end is VERY apt - Team RWBY's heavy-hitter lost a limb (kinda helped by her active Semblance whittling down her Aura), Blake has even more guilt on her shoulders, and Cinder finally became a true Fall Maiden. And that's...CHECKMATE.
Velvets moment in this episode is still one ofbmy favorite scenes in the show
Yep here is where it starts to go from bad to worst trust me you are not ready for the last episode, it just might break you and if not that then the future episodes will, and OHHH yes everyone ends up despising Adam and there hatred for him grows more over time, it's a shame to really, I really liked a few things about Adam, his outfit style, his weapon and even his Semblance was really cool, unfortunately his personality leaves a lot to be desired, but anyway enough about that here is my continuation of the weapons and semblances of all the characters so far now here we go part two electric boogaloo,

While similar to Blake's Semblance, the key difference is that rather than leaving clones behind to take the hit, his clones are fully tangible and able to fight for him. It is shown in Volume 2 that in summoning them he must stand still and actually manipulate them into performing actions, though over time he has begun to overcome this weakness of standing still. Scarlets weapon's are Hook a Flintlock pistol with a grappling hook feature to it, while Darling is a standard Cutlass sword,

Scarlet's semblance Gliding is as the name implies is the ability to glide in the air from which ever height you guy's briefly saw it actually during the fight between Team SSSN and NDGO at the tournament where Scarlet was sent flying by the tornado and he ended up gliding to the ship mass in the Beach Biome,
Sage Ayana
Weapon: Pilgrim
a standard large Great sword with the same Romen numerals numbers that are tattooed around the collar of his neck,

Neptune Vasilias
Weapon: Tri-Hard
a gun that fires concentrated lightning dust that can also turn into a guandao which can further transform by splitting the blade in three making it a trident,
Semblance: Water Attraction

Neptune's semblance allows him to super charge the water molecules with his Aura allowing him to then push and pull the water however he wants like a water bender from the Avatar show, which is ironic since he's afraid of water however his semblance is the reason for his phobia which is further explained in one of the RWBY novels,
Team CFVY (Coffee)
Team Leader: Coco Adel
Weapon: Gianduja
A giant chain gun that compacts into a purse making a little bit easier to move around with and since it still wights the same which also makes it as the perfect bludgeon weapon when it's a purse,
Semblance: Hype
Type: Effect
Coco's semblance Hype allows her to amplify the strength of Dust making it twice to three times more powerful than what it's originally capable of you acutely saw it in action in the last episode of Vol 2 where she completely torn those Grimm apart with her gun, which is why she was having a bit of a difficult time with the Griffons and paladins this episode since she was trying to conserve her Aura,
Fox Alistair
Weapon: Sharp Retribution
A pair of wrists mounted Tonfa blades with a shotgun feature to it,
Semblance: Telepathy
Type: Mentel
Allows Fox to telepathically speak to people as well as sense where they are, which works in conjunction with his Aura sensing ability which works like echolocation allowing him to see both peoples Aura as well as the Grimm which show as black spots due to their soulless nature, Fox heavily relies on all of this due to his blindness and of course if he's running low on Aura or if it's completely depleted he has a Speciale device called ADA to help out,
Velvet Scarlatina
Weapon: Anesidora
As people in the comments have been telling you guy's Velvet's weapon is a camera that she takes pictures with mostly of other people's weapons which connects to the box on her waist that uses Hard light Dust to make solid Hard Light copy with which unfortunately last for a couple of hits until it disappears along with the picture that was used to make the copy, she uses this in conjunction with her Semblance to for maximum affect which makes her a one woman army,
Semblance: Photographic Memory
Type: Intelligence
Allows Velvet to perfectly copy a person's fighting style without problems, which basically makes her the Taskmaster from the Marvel Comics,
Yatsuhashi Daichi
Weapon: Fulcrum
A giant single edge Great Sword with a hook on the back which combined with his immense strength can cause devastating damage,
Semblance: Memory Wipe
Type: Mentel
Yatsuhashi's Semblance allows him to cause amnesia either permanent or temporary depending on the Memory for example, unimportant short term memories are completely erased, while important long term memories are temporarily wipe depending on the amount of time Yatsu wipe those memories for instants if he were to wipe away 24 hours worth of memories it would take that exacted amount of time for those memories to return, however due to a incident that happened in the past Yatsuhashi growed to dislike his semblance and become fearful of it which is why he rarely used it, you can find out more about this by reading the RWBY Novel when you guy's have the time,

If you've watched his character short and digested the lyrics of his song 'Lionize' you'll start to understand Adam. He's a real disgusting piece of garbage, but you'll understand why. And you understand why Blake and him where together... though I'm not sure if the short should be watched before volume 4.
You did my guy Torchwik dirty. He was holding himself against Blake and Sun in 2v1 and he was winning before reinforcements came in the end of Vol 1. Blake did beat him up only with the power of Weiss' money in Vol 2. And getting eaten at the end of his monologue proves his point very well, life is unfair and you can't do anything about it, he should have win there, but no, he got eaten. Also it's a shame he and Neo did not team up more in actual fights, because their teamwork and combos really shows their relationship, especially when you see how pissed Torchwick gets, when Neo gets umbrellad.
It's true though, you can forget about him easily, when you have Adam and Cinder to hate. Still he is my favorite villain in RWBY. Sorry for the rambling :D
Blake was neither dumb or manipulated into being with Adam. Remember that she described Adam as someone who she admired but he gradually changed. That kind of attitude and characteristics change happens a lot. People often change. Whether it's for the better or for the worse, the fact remains that people can change. It's a pretty good lesson to keep in mind when we all get into relationships. Whether it's romantic, platonic, or even parasocial.
Facts
I don't think he changed all that much with her, he just started revealing more of his true self.
We can see from a later trailer that he _did_ have a character journey where he changed over time, but he was a very long way down that path before he met Blake.
Also, speaking as an "old" man with children... she met him as a young teen. Strong, handsome man with passion and conviction, versus young impressionable girl. I don't know how old she was when she met Adam, but she's only 17 now iirc. Time flows, so she couldn't have been more then 15 or so, and 15 year olds don't really have any idea how to avoid manipulative men. Even the mature, intelligent, knowledgeable teenagers still have massive blind spots due to lack of experience.
I would absolutely assume that she is an unreliable narrator about Adam. It's not so much that he changed, it's that he hid his true self less over time, assuming that he didn't have to.
With that said, your point about people changing is of course correct, I just don't think it applies to Adam as much as what Blake says would make us believe.

if you remember in a previous episode velvet takes a picture of suns staff and ruby comments on the photography. Then takes a picture of ruby with her scythe. so in fact velvets weapon is the camera in the box to make images of weapons.
Just to clear up any confusion. Weiss didn’t awaken her semblance here, she just was able to summon a little more than she has before.
The most simple form of her semblance is using glyphs. The white snowflakes. That’s her semblance in the most basic form. However, she has multiple abilities she can do with her semblance. One of which being summoning. She can summon those she has slain. Which is typically Grim. Winter did this against Qrow earlier this volume.
She can also use something called time dilation which she used against Roman in the mech back in Vol 2. So yeah, her semblance is multifaceted and hereditary which is why Winter does it too. As Winter said, it’s like a muscle- The more you use it, the stronger it will become. Weiss doesn’t have full control on her summoning yet but she’s getting there. That’s what protected Velvet, she summoned a part of the Knight she killed back in her trailer.
I heard you guys mention that this was a 'first for Roman fighting by himself' when he was fighting Ruby.
He has indeed done his own fighting before, win or lose. He fought Blake twice. Also Sun. Of course there was the fight in the mech suit.
Roman is no pushover and can be a challenge in a fight.
This is where we start to see the show truly has consequences to the things that have been building in the background. The loss of Penny is big, but she's still a machine so she can be rebuilt. In this episode we lost a major villain, a human who has actual magical powers, a character had an arm amputated, and the fate of many others is currently up in the air. It sets the tone for a much heavier atmosphere. Adam is entirely too powerful for them to deal with in any capacity, I don't think at this point in the story that the entirety of team RWBY could fight him.
