I'm quite familiar with the area. The view from this terrace is what I show other people when they come to Antalya because it's really breathtaking. Migros is actually not a Turkish chain, but Swiss, while Carrefour is French. Both are good places to buy European food, but for sebze (vegetables) and meyve (fruits) I would recommend small local dealers.
@@HolgerJakobs It really is a spectacular view. We didn't realize that Migros is a Swiss chain! Good tip about the local dealers for produce - thank you.
Antalya looks amazing. Turkey is in my list to do next year. I am now travelling full time. I’m in Greece for 7weeks then Crotia to Montenegro and staying in each country for 1 to 2 months. Thanks for all the tips that I’ve gather from you guys. Freedom is so sweet when you are still young to enjoy it😘
Great video as always. Always lots of info. My wife and I are also in Antalya, about 15mins away from you towards Lara. We are doing something similar to you both, traveling the world. We’re here in Antalya to end the end of Mar. we can’t believe how inexpensive it is here! Enjoy your stay and maybe bump into you in old town.
Please do say hello if you see us! We're here until the end of the week. You're staying in a great part of town...we had a walk along the east coast when we went to Duden Falls.
That view off of the coast is gorgeous! It looks like you guys bought some sucuk to have with your eggs...? I love that stuff. And I definitely noticed all of the signs advertising borek!
Beautiful surroundings and you bagged a great place, Stephanie, glad the compromise you both worked out is paying off with a fun stay! Ok, I would love an update on your workouts since I imagine that you are still avoiding gyms? How many steps do you guys do in a day, for instance? Your out and about filming is very well done!
Great question about workouts. We stopped going to gyms when the pandemic hit and we've been doing an intensive at-home yoga program ever since. We follow Dylan Werner on the Alo platform....pretty hard work! 😂
You girls are so lucky. You found the hidden gem a lot of Canadians have no idea about. TURKISH BREAKFASTS! also how Turkey has managed to never have any Mosquitoes. I still can't figure that one out. :)
It was great to run into y’all in Old Town! Have you tried “Cold Baklava” yet? Our local friends tell us it’s new to Turkey, but oh my! Fresh, milky and delicious! Thanks for the heads up about Borek - can’t wait to try it! There’s a big bazaar in our neighborhood every Friday and Sunday; a huge spread of people selling fresh produce, dried fruits and nuts, olives, etc. It’s become a weekend must. Best wishes, and thanks for your videos!
So great to meet up! Hope you're having a great time in Antalya, even with the last couple days of rain. We haven't tried cold baklava yet...we'll look out for it. Thanks for the tip about the bazaar. It's always fun to check out the local markets and see what's on offer.
That's great you got there and it looks like an amazing place for sure. I LOVE the apartment and those views on the morning walk are the best! Can't wait to see what you get up to in this wonderful city!

Wonderful! You're all set with your travels. We generally feel very confident crossing borders with all our pet paperwork in place. Enjoy springtime in Italy!
Such a beautiful apartment and great location. Jasper and Huxley have their own room! I noticed stray cats and an unleashed dog in your video. Are there many dogs and cats roaming around?
Yes, there are many, many stray cats and dogs throughout the city. The locals do feed and care for them but unfortunately don't provide homes. The dogs are generally placid in nature and aren't much interested in our two pups.
It is great until some stray dog bites you on the street. There are packs of them running freely and barking at anyone they want. Occasionally, they bite people and kill cats just for fun. After one of these dogs bites you, you'll need to visit a hospital for 7 times, as a minimum, because they can spread rabies. Taxi drivers are awful as well : they will not know how to drive to the location you need and usually you will have to use your smartphone to show them the way. Also they will have no change, so make sure they have the change before you start your trip. Otherwise, no serious issues, but generally a not so friendly environment for a long stay specifically. You will need some mobile apps if you want to use public transport.

You realise Turks suffered a couple of major currency collapses, and it was not that cheap before 2018/2019 by Western standards and it is currently not cheap for locals? So you may want to be a little sensitive on the topic. Where we live in Konyaalti, Antalya, rent per month for a 1+1 or 2+1 is currently around 1000 Euros and more, which is similar to Germany and Spain by the way.
