Lou, your dedication to these videos is really amazing! The fact that you made such a long video and it is still edited so nicely is impressive and amazing! Look forward to watching your videos everytime they come out!
Thank you! I made the decision to start posting on Mondays and Thursdays because I dont want to sacrifice quality for quantity, so im glad you can see it. I really appreciate the kind words and support :)
Nice video! As a shopper a few things I eventually found out...1. The Bolthouse Farms dressing refrigerated in the Produce department, usually with the prepackaged salads and 2. When buying meat like the ground beef, you can get multiple packages that equal the weight they want. Like, if she wants 2 lbs, just get 2 packages of 1lb each and when it prompts you for the weight, put the 2 lbs. It doesn't matter if it is one package or two, as long as the poundage is correct! Thanks again for the content!
@@TheLongIslandDashExperience I think it has yogurt in it or something, or maybe not as many preservatives? It's popular so I've bought it a lot for folks.
This description of the location is spot on! You should be part of the chat support!!! I can imagine navigating folks locate hard to find items lol. My stores all have bolthoise with bagged salads also
I saw another video of someone that does insta cart and she said she bought color coordinated bags for those stacked batches. So she had an orange bag for the "A" order and a purple bag for "B" and so on so she doesn't mix up the orders.
I do doubles & triples all the time, not a big deal once you get used to it. The not being organized by aisle isn't an Instacart thing, it's a store thing, because all of my publix orders are listed by aisle on IC.
The thing with Costco is that they intentionally move things around sometimes in order to encourage a “treasure hunt” experience. So aisle numbers/maps wouldn’t help cuz they’d change regularly. I love the stuff there but I’d imagine it’s frustrating for instacart
Just a tip when taking the salmon go for the bottom because it will be the coldest and will keep cool longer -especially because you took another order after before delivery. Fish can go funky pretty fast in the heat even with a bag.
Yes I have done a double shop. Once you do a couple and figure out how you are going to organize the cart they are pretty easy and generally good money. Also I never say no or refund an item until I talk to store associate, because sometimes things are on a special endcap or in a locked up area or wierd refrigerated area ect. Which is probably the case here with the salad dressing😊
We are def interested in trying more. Maybe since we are shopping together, when we cant find something, I can go off and find someone. Might be a good strategy.
haha well I really appreciate you sitting through a 58 minute video! Now you know why I made that poll.. in anticipation for this video coming up lol. The first cut was an 1 hour and 20 minutes LOL. Could have been our first feature length film LOL
When you do double batches I highly recommend grabbing one of the plastic shopping baskets and putting it in the cart, and then using that for either A or B depending on who has the smaller order that would fit better. So you can keep everything super separate
Hi 👋 Mary, hi 👋 Lou. You asked to comment on double batches. When I work with my partner we screen shot and send items once we start the orders. We screen shot based on aisles. I’ll do 1-8 he’ll do 8-16 . We used to do separate customer but then we would end up running around too much. Hope that helps. When I work alone I always use the biggest shopping cart. We have some that look like race cars 🏎 and they have 3 tiers at my supermarket. Than I do a tier for A and other tier for B. You both look so happy working together. I love watching you work together as a team. Btw got my morning coffee at 7/11 today lol. Last tip. If I have a lot of frozen items with a double batch I charge the customers for hot/cold bag. Their $1.99. I add it to the order and let them know their order is batched. So far no one has complained. I do however always offer a refund should they be cheap! I used to use my own but then the groceries sit outside in 100 degree weather until the customer casually decides to come and pick up their items left outside lol. I do This on rare occasions, especially in rural areas. Like today my customer ordered 8 pints of ice cream! Sorry for the long ass comment! It’s a long video lol. One more tip. I bring post it to the deli and place my customers order. And I walk away start my batch and check in Galway thru. It’s my very first thing I do. Even before opening the IC app. The same with seafood and the bakery lol. I actually carry a small bag with post it and pen and extra battery for my phone. 🤪
The way instacart had worked in the past and may still be the same today is when you first start working on the platform they track your times for shop and deliver at several stores then pick the one you do in the shortest time then give you more orders at that store For us we did Wegmans WFM and Harris Teeter orders and the final outcome for us they thought would fit is Wegmans 97% of the time we start with 1-2 Delivery only orders and then the rest would be shop and deliver
I don't see these tips for the double orders yet but I used to do them all the time when it wasn't 90 degrees & humid in texas... barely want to grocery shop for myself 😂 A cashier that was a former instacart shopper told me to put one of those handheld baskets they have in my cart so that I can put the smaller list of items in there & the other person's stuff in the rest of the cart & it helps a lot!! I've never gotten a double order that had 2 long lists though, they were normally like the one you guys got. Also, we mainly use plastic bags here so I tie off one person's bags & leave the other person's loose so I don't mix them up lol
I love watching you guys and I like the length of your videos. With the stop and shop deli you can order in advance with the touch screen it will be near the deli counter or near the shop scanners.
I agree. I get so many complaints from my regular shipt customers that say others treat them so badly don't follow instructions and pick the wrong things
@@TheLongIslandDashExperience probably shouldn't have but gave my personal phone number to a couple of my preferred customers so they can let me know when they are going to place an order
I have done triple orders before. You have to get in the right headspace for those! Or else you can get messed up! My suggestion is to go through and make sure everything is correct for the smaller order(s) before you head to check out. :)
That was kind of painful to watch you look for the Bolthouse ranch, it’s in the refrigerated section with the produce. 🤦🏻♀️ I applaud you for doing a 2 shop, but you two seemed a bit scattered. Keep learning your stores! Eventually, you will find the stuff without even having to think about it. I’ve done IC for 2 1/2 years now and just go on autopilot in my regular stores. Fun to work together 🎉
That Costco salmon looked really good! My friend does 2 orders at once all the time. I can't do it I think I would accidentally put something of A's in B's or vice versa haha great video!
The more IC you do the more you'll know where certain items are like Bolthouse (cold) usually in with bagged lettuces in our Publix. Also I'll utilize the bottom of the cart with baskets for one of the orders. If A is smaller I'll put it on the bottom. Sometimes though I'm dragging 2 carts! Hard for one person and a bajillion cases of water / soda. Pays better but the stress is a bit much. If you need 2 lbs of meat and they are in small lbs...get 2 and go slightly over. You could leave people hanging.
Me and my husband done a triple instacart two years ago. And the batch amount was like 150. After the instacart was completed it wound up being 198$ to us paid a bill and got gas 😊
its not sorting correctly because of the shelf numbers i think, on my stores here its programmed differently they have it next to the price instead of aisle numbers
So you guys are definitely extroverts. I'm not I prefer minimal social interaction, and I hate when people put to leave it at door and come to the door anyway. Is there a way I can dress or otherwise carry myself to keep someone like you from talking to me? Me being the dasher trying to keep customers away from me. The more you shop at Costco it will be seamless . I shop there at least once a week for groceries so doing instacart is not as bad.
