So an outer brick wall and some inner plaster walls between the base unit and cameras shouldn’t be a problem you reckon?

The real issue with the cameras is that they randomly go offline--for minutes or weeks at a time--regardless of weather conditions. These aren't really usefull and dependable "security" cameras, just novelties. Also, mine are all within 18ft of their respective homebase 2s. Any further, and the connection is gone even without obstructions. Not sure how you got that far.

man, you must have gotten defective ones, because I’ve had mine going for close to a year now, and they work perfectly. mine rarely ever lost connection, and when they do, its only because the home-base is updating. I love these cameras, and only have praise for them myself, well mostly. the only thing i do not like about them is their alarms, they are pretty much useless. but to fix this, i installed an additional standalone alarm, and it does the trick.

Isnt this testing your phones range from the wifi and not the cameras? I thought this was testing how far you can place the camera from wifi.

My phone has cell service, it’s just that my phones cell service in that area sucked. Also, these cams don’t connect to the wifi, instead, they connect to a homebase, and the homebase connects to the wifi
