the test you did at 4:20 holding up a plate to read and having very clear 5 foot markers.. wow... above and beyond ! excellent testing showcase! better than the own company does
This comparison is is up there with the most professional information videos I have ever looked at. An absolute credit to your ability to present the information in totality. Thank You
Thanks for putting this video together. You obviously put a lot of thought and work into this (and for free). Much appreciated!
Want to say thank you. Your reviews have been extremely helpful and I have purchased the Eufy ecosystem because of it.
A great comparison test like always dude! I made my choice on your testresult! Keep on going. The tip from Danny would make your comparison even better!
The part about the distance between the camera and home base is particularly useful to me. Thank you for making the video.
Glad it was helpful!
Just got the 2c pro today and attached it to the old mount for my 2c. Recorded video and took still shots with each and the pro has a noticeably better picture. Relocated the 2c to a less busy spot on my shed.
Another great comparison video! If I may make a suggestion that might add some value to your already great channel, would it be possible to do a split screen, showing both videos running at the same time? I believe that would take it up a notch. Anyway, just a suggestion. Thanks, and keep ‘em coming!
I was planning to do that but I was thinking it will make the video longer that what it is... I'll do it next time. Thanks for the suggestion.
@@LifeHackster Not sure how it would make the video longer. By splitting the video and doing side by sides, you can cut in half the video length featuring those comparisons. Regardless of how you approach this, any split screen showing side-by-side comparisons will only add value to your channel.
@@SwollenBeef - I really don’t want to cut out the full screen footage though because that is where people can see and zoom in on the details..shrinking it 1/4 or 1/6 doesn’t justify and not a clear representation of the cameras video quality.
@@LifeHackster Makes perfect sense. I didnt consider how it would affect the overall quality by only showing split screen footage.
Absolutely brilliant comparison, really thorough and indepth. Thank you!
Just a great well-thought out review video. Answered all my questions. Thank you!
Love your reviews and comparisons. Keep up the great work !
You’re videos are the best. Thanks for the great reviews!
I'd just like to say that i really enjoy your videos. Well explained and interesting content. Many thanks 👍
I appreciate that!
Omg great video man, thanks a lot I loved you showing us the recording detail/distance and stuff, all very practical. Great video
Thank you. I appreciate it.
Good job; we are looking at those two models. Your video has helped us a lot!
Just bought the 2c pro set up. Thanks for your videos!
You are welcome.
Just the video I needed - thanks man!
You are welcome.
Nice job! I appreciate the non-nonsense video and like the use of the cones for distance.
Just found this, just what I needed. Looking at the 2c. Much dearer here in Australia.
This is a very good and very informative video. Thank you for the effort you put into it. That helped me a lot.
Greetings from Germany
I really appreciate you doing all this man.
Thanks for watching.
You get a like just for that smile buddy.
Keep up the good work from a loyal subscriber 👍🏻
Much appreciated.. Thank You.
excellent work on the comparison! upgrading to 2C Pro ;-) if you buy the starter kit and sell the base and the old cameras, its just a few bucks
Thanks for the reviews LifeHackster! Keep up the good work! Say hi to my hometown of Corpus Christi for me! Go Texans! lol! :-)
I will :)
you did an awesome job! as a side note i strongly suggest reviewing object detection/analyze performance (false positive alarms like turning on by a cat or an inanimate object) of both models and if possible compared to other brands and cheack chinese brand setups. thanks!
This is what I've been waiting for 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾. It's between this and the Reolink Argus 3 for me.
Reolink needs to add motion zoning and AI and Eufy needs to re-work their compression.
Do you think this is better than the ring spotlight?
@@eileengarcia7279 Ring can be hacked easier. Just look it up. RUclips has many videos showing hackers talking and watching people.
Awesome review my man!
Thank you. I appreciate it.
I think another beneficial test would be to test the video quality with the spot light off and with yard or separate flood lights on. This would show whether the spot light itself adds any quality value with separate floods/spotlights on. The built in spot light may not be necessary, and if their is an app option to inhibit them, that would add additional battery life before recharge is needed too. Thank you for considering this, or thank you in advance for a response if you already know the answer to this.
Thank you, excellent comparison
You're welcome!
your video was a great help to make my choice! thanks!
Thanks. Got the 2c Pro after this, looks good enough for what I need.
@wombatparade1264...Thanks for watching!
New subscriber and thank you for your review! 👍
• Last year, I bought a EufyCam 2C Pro two-camera kit and installed both cameras outside the house. Recently I bought a third EufyCam 2C camera which I installed in a home studio. Although the resolution of this last camera is not as important as the first two, it does very well work.
Great video very well made well done
So glad I came across your channel. I did not know what to do. Ordered the 2C kit with extra cameras from prime day thanks to watching your videos and comparisons. Keep it up!!!!
Glad I could help!
How are the cameras doing? Any issues with the spotlight and intercom talking and receiving at night? Amazon has them on sale for
@@Diesel.Trucker67 none. The notification comes very fast!!! The night vision is really great. I’ve caught lots of animals at night lol. The wifi range works great. The one in my front yard is quite far and it works perfectly. People tell me they can here me good when I talk thru them. Am going to put more up around. Right now I have 4. App is user friendly. I would highly recommend this.
Oh yeah. Waiting for the new door lock now lol
@@pamwheatley9775 that's great to hear, I'm really excited to get mine! I just ordered the three camera set off of Amazon so I can keep one inside the house to keep an eye on my cat's LOL.
I just purchased the 2c system, and I am finding motion sensing to be spotty. I have noted that they struggle with motion coming straight at the camera. I have noted in your videos that you always come across the field of vision which makes sense with your setup. But my setup at home, I do not have this option. On my garage, it looks straight out down the driveway and in my back yard, it looks directly down the length of my home as I have nowhere else to mount them. So most motion is someone walking straight up my driveway or walking straight up the path to my patio stairs. Could you test them to see how they react to you waking straight dead on to the cameras?
Great video brother, you got my sub and 👍
I love you channel. I buy Eufy products because of you. Thank you
Thank you. I appreciate it.
The differences in your video quality tests make the pro worth it. I have to say though, the video quality on your 2c pro looks a lot better than it does on mine! Might be that you have it recording an open/well-lit space, whereas mine is on a porch/door so the lighting is tricky.
Great job excellent videos
Thank you very much!
Very useful video as i am looking at buying Eufy so this has really helped me.
Kind regards Paul (UK)
good work dude
That was pretty thorough. I have a narrow back garden with lots of trespassers. It's about 5 metres wide and there are no lights at all back there. It's probably 30 metres long though. Do you think the light on the cake would be effective enough if it's the only light? It looks like it would be fine but easy to supplement if needed...
Great video, very thorough! I get upset seeing reviews that are just unboxing! Thanks again.
thanks for the comparison. Just bought the 2C and I saw the 2C Pro for 45$ more, including tax. I guess it's a no brainer there!
Happy Holidays Hackster... thanks again for a great demonstration. I'm definitely sold on Eufy, and I have a question I can't seem to find the answer to: I'm going to install their wireless doorbell and 2-camera Pro system at some point soon (when I find a good deal). I know I can see live video from the doorbell and cameras if I'm away from home, but can I spot-check them while away if they have not been triggered? Can I enable the video feeds individually anytime I want? Thanks man!
fantastic video
Boy am i glad i purchased the Eufy 2c with home base for $159 on Prime Day. I purchased two of them. so that makes it two home base kits "2nd Edition Home Base" and 4 "2C" Cameras. all for the same price of a One 2c Pro with homebase kit. I also took advantage of the 2k pan and tilt which were on sale Prime Day for only $34 Which was a steal if you ask me. So far I am loving the 2k pan and tilt.
After seeing this review. I will now go and install my 2c cameras, because the 2c pro looks and even sounds worse then the regular 2c Cameras.
I was waiting on this review and then wait till Black Friday to upgrade to the 2c Pro but after seeing this review, I will not be upgrading. I too will wait for 4k to upgrade. I really don't see 2k Picture like i do with the 2k pan and tilt Camera, which I now have 6 of those around the house to keep an eye on my dogs :o) Nothing beats subscription free.
Thanks again for your sincere review,
Thank You.
I must have missed something because RO thought it was obvious the pro version looked far better.
@@Thamac15 Well, the license plate was readable throughout, not the 2C. Also more artifacts going on on the lawn. I'm actually looking at the regular 2 or 2 pro, because of the anti-theft alarm and the Sony sensor. The floodlight could be useful for people that want to scare somebody away - but I've already got motion sensor floodlights. Plus, theoretically longer battery life.
Great video
Great video, it was really helpful. Does this camera also take photo snapshots at regular intervals regardless of motion? Just like the Ring stick up battery does. It would be a good feature to know how my driveway is looking in between motion activated recording.
LifeHacster your videos come though! Thank you so much!
Thanks for your reviews, they helped me make the decision to opt for a set of 2c Pros the end of last year. Unfortunately it seems I may have had a faulty camera as only one was reliable, but I was happy with the working camera.
However during my own testing to try and diagnose/solve my issue I discovered a major flaw in the system that I haven't seen mentioned.
If you force a factory reset of a camera (by pressing the sync button for 10 seconds) it will remove the camera from the system and all recordings become unavailable....or in other words all a theif need do is activate this process and all record of them is gone.
As I don't know the detail of the implementation of the communication between camera and hub I'm unsure if the system is susceptible to a man in the middle attack (meaning a button press may not be needed just a theifs own device)
I would have expected a delete initiated from the camera to require verification from the app, these are supposed to be security products.
I'm hoping Eufy can address this as it is a massive hole in the product, one that puts serious doubt in mind as to what other shortcuts have been taken in the development of the system which on the face of it looks pretty good.
That’s crazy. Do you know if they fixed this security flaw?
Thank you for the great videos. I know some models of Eufycams come with Homebase 1 and some come with Homebase 2.
Can you do a comparison test video, please? Thank you....
So what line of Eufy cam do you recommend?? Also, can I add on a camera from someone who's selling used?
Great video! Do you know if Eufy has plans on creating a 4k 2C Pro Eufy camera? Just curious as I didnt notice too much of a difference between the 2C and the 2C Pro. Thank you in advance for your response.
Exactly how I would of tested them! They are close with a slight better picture and sound on the pro
Nice detailed video
Thanks.
wish I seen this before I got the 2C. Going to return it now and get the 2C Pro. Thanks for this detailed review!
You are welcome.
Thinking of doing the same. Is it much bretter than just the 2c?@@LifeHackster
although it is substantially more expensive I will move forward with your recommendation. I will let you know how things work out.
What flood light are you using? I’m thinking about grabbing the 2C pro but don’t think the spotlight on it is too much of a deterrent at night.
What’s the difference between this one and the 2 pro? I can’t find any comparison videos
If i originally bought the 2c and i wanted to add on a camera from 2c pro, would i be allowed to do that with the same base station.?
Thanks for the quality video! I actually watched this after I purchased the Eufycam 2C Pro earlier today (arrives tomorrow). I had watched some other videos before making that selection. The 2c Pro seems a little better in all areas tested compared to the original 2C, but is it worth the extra $100? I don't know, I guess we'll find out. Since I plan to have this system for years, the extra amount of money didn't seem to bother me much and now I'll have the option as to what quality I prefer to use.
I originally was in the market for the Blink outdoor camera. I checked out the Wyze outdoor camera also and almost ended up buying the Ring Stick up Cams. But, after the iffy reviews and cost of cloud related services, I decided on the Eufycam. I hope I made the right choice. =)
How are those Eufys holding up for you?
@@Ralfjones Hi there. I should have followed up on my reply. I sent the Eufycams back 2 days after I receive them. Too much inconsistency with motion detection and it seemed to lose connectivity with the hub far too often during my evaluation period. And I was well within the max WiFi range. Not a good thing if you want this for security purposes. I ended up going with the REOLINK H.265 4K PoE Security Camera System. At around $440 and after crawling around in my attic to run the Ethernet cables, it was well worth it. 24x7 coverage, great motion detection and picture quality, and I don't ever have to recharge them.
Great video, after watching many of your comparisons I have decided to invest in the Eufy 2c.
Question: is it possible to link a camera to my home base in the house from my garage which is a separate building 30mt away and if so how?
I have a separate old Belkin router in the garage linked via a plug link.
Thanks in anticipation John
Thanks for the great video. Just ordered the 3 pack 2C Pro setup to install at my parent's house. They will use their iPad to monitor the camera as they do not have iPhones. I assume this will work okay?
I may have missed but what is the cool down period? How long does it record for once detected?
You reccomend the 2c. Or the cam 2 ? For video quality day and night ? Either in the regular or pro versions
Hi again I was wondering do you still use the eufy cam 2c pro ? Are you getting any notifications from the cameras because I am having this problem getting any notifications on my 2c pro had them for 2 days now
nicely done
thanks.
Would you say that the Reolink rlk8 410b4 poe camera set is best or what is.
Would you pic the floodlight cam over this? I have looked at your other video and the resolution looks a lot better with a lot less grain. Keen to know your thoughts thanks!
So, you recommend the 2C pro? In the video I don’t see any mayor difference
I just purchased the four camera kit and can't seem to find a straight answer anywhere about the USB memory expansion and if that was released.
The only thing I have found from Eufy was a response on a thread saying 2-3 months and a patch would be released is all goes well and that was July 2020.
Hello ,
First of all your videos are perfect for beginners and prof.
One more time bilions of thanks mister.
Last request could you please check what’s the best smart doorbell
Best out there
Did you ever have a problem with the homebase 2 where it flashes red/ blue light and you can’t change camera settings with error “unable to connect to homebase (-1)”?
Very informative comparison video! I am thinking of purchasing 2 floodlight cameras for my garages and a eufyCam 2C Pro Add-on Camera to cover my back yard, is the eufyCam 2C Pro Add-on Camera
a stand alone or will I need the HomeBase 2.
You make brilliant reviews, but I'd really love if you could please test the Google Assistant integration! Some companies like Arlo trick us into believing their cameras are "Google assistant compatible" but in the real world they are not (well, partially compatible, but the main feature I wanted, streaming video through a Nest hub or chromecast, is not possible...)
Can the Eufy cam stream video in a nest hub?
Have you compared the video of the 2C Pro to the Eufy Spotlight camera? I currently have the spotlight cam and wanted to add more cameras in spots that don't need a light but I want the video quality to be the best. I heard the smaller cams don't have the 5 second video buffer the spotlight has.
Can I hook up a solar panel to them ? If so, which panel is efficient reliable durable for them ?
Thanks for all of your reviews.
I want a system of cameras, indoor and outdoor battery cams.
the Reolink looks best outdoors and worse indoors compared to the Eufi which is good indoors and poor outdoors.
Is there anything that is good indoor and outdoor in battery cams?
can any send a notification to Google home etc?
What camera do you think has the best image quality?
Did they ever fix the 2K issue? Just got the Reolink Argus 3 Pro and the quality is amazing, but they don’t have the local storage hub like Eufy. A comparison between the Argus 3 Pro and Eufy 2C Pro would be a great comparison to help me decide if Eufy is worth it?
Argus 3 Pro struggles with Alex Integration with about 16 seconds of delay. How well do Eufy battery camera’s integrate with Alexa to view the live feed through Echo shows?
looking at this for my parents house up north so we can watch the house and people coming and going. she is alone and already had creepy people coming to the door. can both me and my sister be st up for notification and be able to view live and history? or is it just one person can link? also looking at the reolink RLK8-510 b4-a. same question.
recently i bought eufy security camera single and tried to install but could not. do i have to buy base for the camara
Hey @Lifehackster, great videos thank you from Europe! I use geofencing to disable the cameras and door sensors when I'm at home. However, I would like to always activate the cameras at night, no matter where I am. how do you solve this? A combination of geofencing and schedule is unfortunately currently not possible. thank you!!
Nice video.
Thanks!
Thank you for the thorough video comparison between the two, LifeHackster! I'm trying to decide between the two and this video was very helpful. Leaning towards the 2c non-pro. Are the home bases the same between the two models? Can I add a 2c pro camera to the same home base that comes with the non-pro?
Yes, you can.
Thanks.
You're welcome
I have a 2k wired Eufy door bell. I was going back and forth on adding a 2 camera system. Now, the 2C kit is $169.99. I think it's a no-brainer at this point. The 2c Pro is still $319
I'm going the same route as you, Amazon has them on sale for 169. I'm going to order it today! How do you like the eufy 2K wired doorbell? That will be my next add-on.
Is it worth starting off with the 2c or 2c pro or the blink camaras
Hey man, thank you for your comparison videos. Really helpful BUT could I ask you to tell me the differences between the Eufy 2 Pro and the 2c Pro? I know there's the battery life and spotlight but other than that I can't figure it out. Is the AI the same? The software? The notifications? Thanks.
2c pro has 135 degree field of view vs 140 of 2 pro
2c pro no anti theft vs anti theft for 2 pro
And as you mention, spotlight and battery life.
Nice! Seemed like the biggest difference was at night?
I just ordered the EufyCam 2 Pro (x2 @2k) from BB for $250 and noticed today the EufyCam 2C (x2 at 2k) is $250 with a coupon at Amazon. I think the theft siren and longer battery life of the Pro vs 2C is nice. At the same price point which would you choose? Thanks!
Can you go over the settings and what you recommend when you set it up?
great review. do you have a review with 2c pro vs 3C? worth it?
Great video as usual. Is there any way to permanently plug the Eufy cameras to keep them powered without compromising their waterproof features? Wish Eufy made an outdoor wired version of these cameras with 24/7 recording. Your videos are really helpful, keep up the good work. Thank you in advance.
Not really... a dab of silicone should work to weather proof it.
I noticed a spotlight on amazon design for eufy to be plugged in and charging.
I know this a year later, but Eufy has a solar panel to plug into their battery operated outdoor cameras. However, I'm not sure if that would allow 24/7 video.
Unfortunately no mention of tested battery life before it needs recharging?
Are you able to attach an Eufy Camera to your siding and cover a sidewalk that runs parallel to your home? Is the field of view such that you would have good visibility of a sidewalk that runs parallel to your home?
Hey lifehackster. You think those will be a better choice for outdoor night vision than the new eufycam 2 pro ? Thanks
Not necessarily because the spotlight is too dim to be used as a stand alone. You do need to add more lighting/motion lighting to the area you want to monitor.
Just wondering if you can putting somthing forward to eufy because they seem to listen to you I have this camera but the problem is the motion detection zone can only be adjusted on all 4 corners which isn't very good as you cannot get around objects I had the ring and could adjust in different areas and make it a odd shape is what I'd like I have seen comments about this from 2020 but still haven't added this feature
