I have 8 of the Eufy Cam 2C Pro cameras that I've had for about a year and a half now. I replaced my Arlo Pro 2 cameras with Eufy. I had a Eufy camera getting fuzzy due to water getting into the camera a year and a month after I purchased them. I called Eufy and they said that they would replace it if I sent it back to them even though it was over a year after the purchase. Apparently they have a one year warranty on their cameras. Arlo Pro 2 had a 2 year warranty. The new camera arrived and I set it up easily. 2 weeks later I had another camera become fuzzy due to water getting into the camera again. I called them up again and they told me that they were going to send me a replacement but after talking with management that this would be the last time I was going to be able to get a replacement. I was shocked that they said this. I understand that they were going above and beyond with replacement of their products after one year. I was also disappointed with the fact that I don't want to spend $400 every year in a half to 2 years for a security camera system. I also noticed that the Eufy cameras need to be charged more often than the Arlo Pro 2 cameras. I have purchased each of these products because of your videos and I'm not trying to complain. I'm just giving my thoughts on the systems after using them. I was detoured from using Arlo again because at the time they required a cloud payed service for any of the new products each month and the customer service was some of the worst I've ever dealt with. Maybe it's changed since. I will be in the market for the Arlo Pro 2 for my next purchase because it didn't require a monthly payment for cloud service and I actually thought it was a good product. I built little covers for the top of the cameras for my Eufy Cam 2C and it appears to attach spiders and other bugs to live under for protection from the rain and elements. This also sets off the cameras more often than I like at night. I am also going to throw this out there. The Eufy Cam 2C doesn't always work or turn on with motion. I have to refresh each camera with the app in order for them to start recording again. This happens every day or 2 and is discouraging because I was hoping for my system to do its job without me refreshing them all the time. I appreciate your time and videos. I appreciate your options on different products and wanted to take the time to leave you my experiences with my cameras after several years. Not trying to come across as complaining. Just giving you an update and feedback. Thanks again for your time and videos.

Due to my home construction, very little attic, vaulted ceilings, and no basement, I'm looking at installing the Reolink Argus 3 Pro's (3 cameras - outside perimeter). I've done a bunch of research and read reviews on many of the security cameras, to try and understand the performance and requirements when installing battery/wireless cameras. The major point of discussions and reviews has been centered around internet speed as being crucial! My service plan is up to 600 mbps download, and 10 mbps upload. My modem/router is centrally located and consistently gets about 550 mbps download, and 10 mbps upload. At the point of installation for the Reolinks I'm consistently getting about 190 mbps download, and 7 t0 8 mbps upload, and my cell phone displays 3 bars. In your opinion do you think these numbers are adequate for the Reolink cameras to perform reasonably well?

I need help with router options. I have literally 25 devices running in my home. Could have more in the future. Most of them are only 2.4 hertz capable not the 5. Most are roku devices and about 15 ring stick up cameras I have all over my property. I got the nest wifi 3 pack at sams club recently thinking it would help and it does have the range to get signal to my ring cameras near the front street I’m still experiencing buffering on my roku devices while watching tv. Also on my iPhone and iPads. So should I just have different routers hard wired throughout my home? Or should I try the nest wifi pro packages? I heard it’s tri band and they have them cheap at Costco now. But I have to get a membership etc. not sure if it’s worth it yet. Am I better off just getting different routers and different networks rather than a mesh system? Mesh doesn’t seem to be working out for me. But perhaps the nest pro would??? And I can’t afford the very expensive netgear orbi things they have for $1000. Do they sell routers with tri bands for 2.4 hertz? Like I said most of the devices are using that band and can’t use the 5 hertz. I don’t have any device capable of using the new 6 though. Not yet anyway.

Hi Steve, Thanks for all of these security cam videos. I've watched several of your videos today. I can't decide on what to get for my first security cam. I'm leaning towards a wireless, WiFi, battery (solar?) setup but I'm not sure which one. I'm in a cold climate also where it can get very cold (below 0 degrees Fahrenheit) in the winter. Was looking at the Ring stick up with the solar panel as it seems like a good beginner setup at a reasonable price. Thoughts?? Thanks for your help!

Very nice comparison! Reolink looks great and wins essentially all the rounds. On the sound, I thought Eufy was a little better though. There was a lot more noise with Reolink. Even though Eufy volume was a little lower and a bit higher pitch, I could hear what was said much better. Again, even with that small difference Reolink wins hands down.

There are quite a few cameras with solar panel that are half the price of the Reolink product but appear as though they may be very near the same quality. More reviews comparing the extremes in price versus quality would be helpful. Eufy seems to be relying on advertising/branding to justify their inflated pricing.

Your night comparison would be way more useful had you turned out your kitchen lights. I don't think burglars will be skulking about your back yard while you're sitting in the kitchen there. That said, I've been following Reolink and they actual fix things you complain about. I complained (for example) that the email addresses you could mail clips to were not allowing certain local email addresses that they should, and they indicated they would fix that.
Reolink has an NVR for storage inside your house just like Eufy, except it's optional. Also, you can have the camera email you the clip, so it's immediately out of the camera if you're worried about someone taking the camera to hide their malfeasance.

I just purchased a Reolink Argus 3 Pro with solar panel. Despite having the camera located approximately 30-feet line-of-sight from my router, wifi connectivity has been absolutely AWFUL. Either the app can't connect or bit rates are uselessly low or a connection is made and then drops. Very disappointing. If I can't find a solution, the camera will be going back in favor of a Eufy 2C Pro. The Eufy's significantly wider angle of view and remote storage make it an appealing option despite some shortcomings compared to the Reolink. Also, as I write this, Amazon has the two camera Eufy 2C Pro kit listed at $199. Very helpful review, though, Steve.
