Great review and everthing in details. Overall, it is a great 4K wireless camera but the color night vision doesn't seem like 4K at all. Reolink needs to improve in this aspect.

Thanks for the review. I have have a couple of old Argus 2 cameras and your reviews was just what I needed right now as I'm think of buying a couple of newer models. Very informative and well present. Helped me to decided that all I really needed was the Argos 3 Pro!

    Is it wireless?

The camera's antenna should be more or less vertical ; perhaps slightly angled but perpendicular in reference to the WIFI router or Reolink Hub if you are using one. Most camera manufacturers will also specify a recommended height for you to mount your camera as well. In the end, under most circumstances, your antenna should be as vertical as possible.
In the case of this style of camera, you should ideally mount it where the antenna can be placed vertically upwards to keep out of the view of the camera, or vertically downwards which might obstruct viewing some things.
Is it wrong to have the antenna place the way she's got it placed ? Nope: Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do; There are mounts that you can get to suspend the camera from a ceiling, for example. Most cameras can be mounted in a few different manners.

Please excuse me if my question seems stupid. I am 79 years with some dementia and agent orange brain tumor so I am confused plus I am trying to set up a few security cams that my best friend my wife will be able to operate once I am gone. I have one of the first PT Argus it’s three or four years old now and so far no major issues except once in a while it will go off line. Will this the new one scan to the area it is alerted to on its own and than return to a preset place? I have a Trax camera now just to try it out. But it’s just to hard for me to use with to many settings. Plus its picture quality isn’t any better than the PT camera I have had for 4 years. I would like a new camera that has a better picture plus a camera that when it detects something automatic goes to what it’s detected and returns to its original place. I am sorry if I wasn’t clear with my questions because if it does these things I will return my Argus PT in for it.
BTW I subscribed to your channel. I found your review very good and it’s nice to have a nice young lady explaining things for a breath of fresh air. Thank You and Cheers

Hello! That's very smart of you to be thinking ahead like this. Reolink and other cameras like it often allow users to add others into the same account to use and control the same cameras. This way, you, your wife, and your best friend can all use the cameras at the same time.
      Here's a resource I found: support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360011355734-How-to-Add-Admin-User-Accounts-to-Reolink-Cameras-via-Reolink-App/
      Hope that helps!

Can two people with two separate phones connect and control the camera through the app? Or, will it only allow one phone at a time to be connected? Also, does the app handle having two separate cameras at the same time?

    • @FastAkira

yes, 2 separate phones connected to the same cam, using the app. You can also view all cameras at the same time

Hi! A little help please, does the camera "patrol" an area of my choosing? Let's say if I place it on my porch can I set it to patrol from left to right?
    Thanks!

I just ordered a couple of these so I can let you know soon. But I bet the answer is no. At this price point I bet constant rotation would break these down fast

Also curious…trying to figure out if this or a 2K resolution Trackmix would be better

Sorry forgot about this over the holidays...they do not follow when it senses motion...but for a battery powered/solar wifi camera they arent bad...if you can provide the needed power though i would have gone with trackmix...i just wasnt kean on drilling any holes in my walls.

A question, if my wifi disconnects due to some error, can my reolink argus pt solar camera continue recording until I can fix the wifi?

    • @SookyMonster
      @SookyMonster 4 месяца назад

I got an Argus 2 and yes it does still records if the WiFi disconnects. Once you have a SD card installed.

Sadly it can't do target following which is usually a basic function of a PT(Z) camera even in the lower segment. Without this the pan and tilt function is just a gimmick.
