Super interesting to hear these back-stories from the product designs. Torsten seem to be such a pleasant person and he is nice to listen to. I would love to see a new Horizon, but with a LG screen and OS.

Hello Steve, thanks for your beautiful items about B&O. I like to share my story with the brand. It started with a telephone, the banana, we bought about 15 years ago. But it broke after collecting water and the dealer said it could not be repaired. Very disappointing. Two years ago we moved from the north of the Netherlands to the south. I found a shop there who sold second hand B&O products and told him my problem. He assured me that it could be fixed. So it took a while but the telephone works very good until today. Then our television broke and we decided to buy a second hand item from his storage. I don’t know the type. It has a big floorstanding and moves towards us when we put it on. Great television. My latest purchase is from the same shop who repaired the telephone. A new pair of Beolab 28 speakers. An amazing set which I can stream with and also play my modified Thorens TD 160 and the Beogram 2300 CD player. I am super excited about it. The sound is astonishing.

That was a fascinating interview thank you. The Beovision Contour is, in fact, my favourite current television design by B & O. I remember when I first saw it I was immediately struck by the out-of-the-box thinking. You don't have to always go for this thinnest edges around the screen, you can have a frame like this and celebrate that frame in the design. I love the simplicity of the Contour, the simple dividing line between the screen and the speaker area is really beautiful.

Mindblowing is the word that comes to mind when hearing Torsten explain some of the concerns and thought process. Such a joy. I never exactly understood why drawing or designing B&O products would take so long but when explaining exactly like Torsten did, you get the idea how he looks at other natural references (mushroom), natural effects (the way your eyes and mind react to angles and reflections), how he works in close collaboration with engineers (the one-piece aluminium), how he implements associations of The Entertainer (The Eclipse), how all this and more make designing a complex process, lasting pretty much throughout the entire development. The result is more admirable than if you just look at it without being informed or educated. Do you know what else can do that? Where if an (audio) guide is used you get the context, meaning and story behind? Art!
