    I would have to have these setup with a switch to power each one individually, and with a power ramp up, that would be as easy as possible on the components. Certain ones would not be powered, for the impossible parts to be found or created. If a part could be handmade to recreate the original, then done. On the modern ones, if a different component is used, then the original one is saved, where later, it could be restored to original.
    But imagine the songs that you could hear from there, if you had the time.

    @7:49 the top row of video recorders look very similar to the Philips VCC2000 models. Most VHS tapes I have come across are more recent than the 1980-85 VCC2000 tapes and have less drop out. The very old tapes have the magnetic coating peeling off. Professional services can bake these in controlled conditions and make them playable for video transfer. Hi8 and Super VHS, being much newer still seem okay after 30 years.

    • @soundsheavenly

    I don't they've ever made something truly bad, even if it was not liked much it was still well designed on many level. The pre war stuff is excellent to see and a true test of quality that they still are in one piece and haven't disintegrated much if at all over time.

    Great video Steve. What an unbelievable collection of B&O products!
    It triggers 2 questions:
    a) Is this collection open to visitors?
    b) In the video a small round 360 speaker is shown, I think from the 60’s. Do you know the model?

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  2 года назад +2

      Thanks, yes this is an amazing collection! It isn't normally open, except by invitation from the owners. Please check out my other video with Morten and you can see how do get in touch with him. The Rondstraler is the small gold 360 degree speaker, dating back to 1964, this was the fore-runner of the Beovox 2500 cube tweeter and it was used with the Type K speaker.

    • @KolfMAKER
      @KolfMAKER 2 года назад +1

    Dear Steve,
    If you connect 4 penta’s on it and a subwoofer (b&o) and you put the speaker 2 by 2. The subwoofer alone then the theater app recognizes only three speakers and a subwoofer.
    One speaker don’t get a connection. I try it several way’s. It’s still the same.
    Please help.
    Grz
    Bram

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  Год назад +2

      Hi Bram, please use fully wired Powerlink to RJ45 cables and link only two Pentas on each socket on the Theatre, with a separate socket for the subwoofer. Now, the Theatre should see all the speakers. Please ask at soundsheavenly.com if you need any help with cables!

    yeah I've got that stereo TV where he standing next to at 5:16 an at 5:23 with the wooden veneer and metal trim, I think still working it was last time but, I was going to throw it out. worth anything or not? no remote I've got the service manual book that covers all the range of those model TVs probably had to get hold of maybe. no my was the older model original stereo. was it 982.
    maybe you could do a dive into the designers of different decades would be interesting don't know how difficult it would be to find that information, how these people ended up working for bang and Olufsen and where did they go after that?
    my dad used to design Norwegian furniture very famous in the uk it was, built at the high Wycombe in the 50s very sought-after today. he save that company but got no credit or royalties from it.

He did have an Acoustical 3000 which I believe is quite rare in Denmark and I did not see BV3800 which were really for the UK market and again rare in Denmark - though Martin has a pair! Spectacular collection - I did have the top corridor in my house with a long line of pieces - long since gone - but reached only 100+ bits. I particularly like the older wooden cased pieces - craftsmanship that is just not seen now.
