So funny, I'm a fellow aussie watching your vlog in Astana and it's also my first time here... Astana is beautiful but we're off to Almaty in a few days ❤❤
Hi Josie, if you are still in Astana, I would recommend you to go to Burabay National Park which has many lakes and lots of pine trees. It is about 250km west of Astana. It is really beautiful there. I like Astana with many futuristic buildings but you need to walk a lot. Almaty being the largest city in Kazakhstan has more things to see and do. It is the Switzerland of Central Asia. Enjoy your travel in Kazakhstan. Do also go to Uzbekistan. It has many great cities like Khiva, Bukhara, Tashkent and Samarkand for you to explore. You could also cover Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. These countries have many scenic snowcapped mountain ranges like Pakistan.
I'm also coming to Kasakhstan this September and then going to wisit a few Chinese cities (ulincluding Urumuqi and Xian)! Great vlogs! Fells like I am preparing for my trip
oh poor guy! the taxist was just saying you that the official Yandex taxi will be awaiting you over there, where he pointed to. lol and you kept saying no, thank you! probably thinking he's offering you his taxi service. I like you guys a lot! enjoy your staying in Kazakhstan! and of course, welcome!)!!!
@@josievlogsthings it is amazing that I got your reply from yourself, I used to watch your Vlogs in Toutiao when I was in Shanghai , and now I am in Europe. Looking forward to your updates and continuous success , good luck 👍
I’m surprised there was no WiFi at the airport bc usually there is WiFi, if I remember correctly from my last times at that airport. But it can be tricky sometimes to connect to it. Once you connect, you need to wait for the registration window pop up, and after that you’re in. I often struggle in the airports abroad with connecting to WiFi without a local number.
as an Aussie Kazakh I've through such a hard bullying over the fact I was born and raised in Kazakhstan. I stopped sharing that with people because the moment I open my mouth they start devaluing me and laugh at me, associating me with the Borat movie scenes. It's sad how people could be that ignorant (well...at least if they don't know about the fact, they should have keep it respectful, right). The country has been introduced to the industrial relations and has developed heaps of complexity and potential and locals have about 99% literacy (I know that you're wise enough to remember that not everyone there should speak English, they already speak Kazakh and Russian). Before joining Soviet Union, Kazakhs along with other Turks comprised other powerful Empires back in history, such as the Turkic Khanate, the Golden Horde, the Moghul Empire, and even somehow distantly relate to the Osman Empire. It's not that they were climbing trees and evolved overnight just because someone with the Eurocentric background has suddenly 'discovered them :). Another part of the bullying comes from the association of this secular country with the Muslim states, owing to the ending "stan" - that's where another disgusting portion of hate comes from, including Aussies. Yes, it used to have an affiliation with Islam but Turkic Islam was quite different from Arabic, plus we gotta put the line in our perception between radical Islam and peaceful Islam and its people that preach love, peace, and unity. (If you recall Christian crusaders, they're far from 'peaceful' or 'loving', those guys eradicated whole civilizations in the name of Christ. :). Why nobody mentions that? (well...in the light of Eurocentrism facts are messed up). Let me mention that again....yes, In the light of Eurocentrism, unconscious people developed a 'passport hypocrisy', however, those western countries lag behind in many respects and all these classifications into the 'first world' or 'whatever comes after that' is not a real thing.

it is very annoying and costly when something happens to your airbnb booking the day you arrive my booking in dubai got canceled after i arrived the host just told me it was not available, for whatever reason i contacted airbnb support and booked similar apartment in the same area, but it was two times more expensive then next day airbnb told me that they could have helped me to book another place for cheaper, if i waited, but they only replied the next day should i have been sleeping rough somewhere waiting for their reply? and they only offered me 20 usd as a compensation and told me nothing they could do, while i overpaid hundreds
