Here's a snippet of my experience with Parks Chevrolet of Charlotte.
On the afternoon of December 20th, 2023, I delivered my 2004 Cadillac Escalade to Parks Chevrolet to address a continued check engine light and the fact that the Cadillac would not shift from 1st to 2nd gear. At time of drop off, I presented your service consultant Kylie Phillips with a list codes generated by the Escalade and my detailed contact information. This is a glimpse of the printed information presented the day of drop off:
    P0758 / P2761 / P0753 / P0740 / P0785
A point to highlight is I visited the Parks service department earlier in the month of December to seek advice on completing the repair at Parks. This is when I first met Kyle, who was more than sure his service team could complete the repair of the Cadillac (also a General Motors product)
As mentioned above, I dropped the Cadillac off on December 20th. I ask you to keep in mind I did not receive a word from Kyle as the calendar year turned from 2023 to 2024. On January 2nd, I decided to visit the Parks service center where Kyle mentioned they should be able to diagnosed the problems and he would be in touch over the next coming days. On January 5th 2024 at 10:43am, Kyle called me to say ordered parts will be arriving soon allowing completion of the repairs. Kyle also presented me with a list of suggested repairs on the January 5th. On January 9th, I called Parks back in an attempt to authorize a couple of additional repairs listed. A female answered to mention Kylie was not available and she could only take a message to pass along to him. I never received that returned call.
I did not get a call, voicemail, email, or any form of communication from Kyle nor a Parks service team member after speaking with Kyle on January 5th. On January 25th, I decided to visit the service department there at Parks Chevrolet once more to check the status. This is when it was brought to my attention a repair had been performed and the Cadillac was ready for pick up. Kyle then confessed that the check engine light was off, and the Cadillac would now shift from 1st to 2nd to 3rd, but no further than that. In great disbelief, I begin to question Kylie of why the promised repair was not completed as promised, the lack of communication over the past month, and the inability of the transmission to shift properly. Kyle appeared to be as baffled as a toddler being asked to balance a check book, so I immediately ask to speak to management.
This was when I was introduced to Scott Howell to further gain a more professional point of view of the elapsed time, incompletion of the repair, and clarity of the charge without the completion of the promised service. Scott appeared just as baffled as that toddler I previously spoke of as to the elapsed time, explanation of why the transmission was not fully addressed, and the actions of Kylie. Scott was quick to separate the actions of Kyle (a Parks service consultant) and W. Dickerson (the acting service technician). I immediately threw out that his definition of team was a bit misconstrued. Scott was very adamant that he was not eliminating the charge, while continuing to state that the lack of professionalism and communication of Kylie Phillips would be addressed. His only answer to address the primary concern of why the promised service was not performed was I could leave the Cadillac with them to further diagnose the inability of the transmission to shift properly. I immediately highlighted a plethora of reasons, due to the service I was receiving, to why this would not happen.
A more current report on the status of my Cadillac Escalade is it only shifts from 1st to 2nd, and SOMETIMES 3rd after a prolong engine rev. The shift to 3rd I just mentioned is not always gauranteed resulting in a transmission that only shifts successfully from 1st to 2nd. The check engine light is off, but the fear is it will pop back on with the transmission debacle.
The result of my experience with Parks Chevrolet is a Cadillac Escalade I could not drive safely before I turned to Parks Chevrolet for service assistance, a Cadillac Escalade I cannot drive safely after picking my SUV up from the Parks Chevrolet, and a charge of $746.05
