    One thing I don't fully understand yet (and maybe this only came with newer ROS versions?) is that there is a Wi-Fi Tab and Configuration Tab.
    Do I correctly understand the following concept: The Wi-Fi Tab is the overview of the physical Wi-Fi available and some settings assigned to it. And the Configuration and other Tabs are the actual configuration of the Wi-Fi settings?
    Now with double-click on the physical Wi-Fi interface it also has a configuration Tab... and here you could select a configuration that you might have done already from the overall Configuration Tab ... or is it just different ways of getting to the Configuration?

    Hi Berg, great tutorials. As a absolute beginner. I learned a lot through your tutorials. I´m doing a lot of stadium shows my question is: Can i use a Mikrotik Metal G-52SHPacn to mirror my Laptop that is almost 50m away from to oparete my measurement softwares? When yes, please tell me how. Thanks

      I think you could look that up by searching for "Ethernet layer 1" specifications and check how long cables are allowed to be.
      As far as I'm informed, for 100 Mb/s you can go up to 100 m. But of course you should use a quality cable suitable for the speed you need and don't bend it too hard at any point, especially with longer cables you otherwise could get signal reflections!

    Hi, I hope you can help me. I am using a Mikrotik HAP AC2. I was looking at the logs and I have a lot of 7E:07:XX:XX:70:XX@wlan1: disconnected, extensive data loss, signal strength -47 then about 30 seconds later, it reconnects. What would cause this?

    Hi. Thank you for your videos, they are very helpfull. So i have two Mikrotik Hapac2 routers. The first one i have setup for Internet POE.
    The second one is a wifi access point. I have a cable running from my the first router to the ap router, which port must the cable go to? Should it be port one the internet port, or does it not matter which port i use?

    I did a client scan and choose the network via my map lite. I created the security profile with my wireless secret passphrase (I believe it's WPA2 PSK). I see the R you show in the video connecting as station or station bridge. I check IP > Neighbors. There are no neighbors listed. I try to search for package upgrades, I get a DNS error. I don't think it's connecting. What should I do to resolve this?
    Edit: It was missing a DHCP client. That resolved the issue.

      set [ find default=yes ] supplicant-identity=MikroTik
      add authentication-types=wpa2-psk mode=dynamic-keys name= supplicant-identity=MikroTik wpa2-pre-shared-key=
      /interface wireless
      set [ find default-name=wlan1 ] band=2ghz-b/g/n country="united states" disabled=no frequency=2462 mode=station-bridge security-profile= ssid=
      /ip hotspot profile
      set [ find default=yes ] html-directory=flash/hotspot

    Could you make a video on how to setup VLANS(untagged in particular). Tagged is easy to setup while untagged is a pain in the a**. Also different ways such as bridge vlan vs switch vlan... Would really appriciate it!!

      Sure, once I am done with the MTCNA course I will start working on an MTCRE which does cover VLANs, I'll see about adding Switch/Bridge VLANs in there as well.

    On my cottage i have internet from local wisp, with - 70 mbps download, 40 mbps upload, and 20 ms ping, but when i connect 1 neighbour house i see that my speed is slow.

    Thanks for the video. Do you know if I can configure a Mikrotik to work with 2 AP that are Asus? Like on a Mesh setup. Right now im using one asus as a router and AP and my RB2011 as a switch, but I would like to use my RB3011 as the router and the 2 Asus routers as AP to increase WIFI signal but without creating signal issues when the signal overlaps.

    Hi Berg! Great tutorial! I was wondering, you used the host router to broadcast wireless using the wlan interface (correct me if i'm wrong) but in my mikrotik I dont have wireless interface, so its the exact configuration but instead of using the wlan interface i should use ethernet, right?

    • @TheNetworkBerg
      @TheNetworkBerg  2 года назад +1

      Hmmmm if you do not have a wireless interface you may not have a wireless card in the Mikrotik. What model MikroTik are you using? You will need a WLAN interface to do any type of broadcasting.

      @@TheNetworkBerg its does not have a wireless interface. Its a RB750Gr3. My question is if i can use this router to manage the AP via Ethernet, because the router is way to far and Ethernet may be the only option. Thanks for the reply btw!

    • @gabrielporto.mikrotik

      You can use cAPsMAN for that my friend. That way you can manage the APs through a RB that doesn’t have wireless interface.

    You rushed through the most important part, . ,. ,. setting up the ap for repeating. Have you done a video that only focuses on using a Mik as an AP that receives a wireless signal from any router in another room. All ports on the Mik AP to be used as well as to use it as a wireless repeater in the new area.

    • @TheNetworkBerg
      @TheNetworkBerg  2 года назад +1

      Hello, this video is specifically aimed at the MTCNA and specific configurations that are required to know for the certification. But I can agree knowing about how to configure an AP as a repeater would definitely be nice for a home user. I can highly suggest looking over TKSJA's channel. He mainly covers MikroTik topics aimed for home use.
      Many of my video focus more on Enterprise/ISP configurations.

    • @TheNetworkBerg

      This is a series dedicated to the official MikroTik certification for the MTCNA and is a topic that you need to know to pass the certification, regardless if you think this is a waste of time there are many scenarios where this could be useful aside fro just normal home use.

    • @lukasbruderlin2723
      @lukasbruderlin2723 4 месяца назад +1

      @@TheNetworkBerg I agree, I think this is even the minimum that you should cover for such videos - even if it is aimed for MTCNA (many years ago I did the CCNA), I think covering a bit more than is required really doesn't hurt. And don't forget, probably 75% of all viewers of your videos, are not here to get the exam, but to really understand the concepts and learn to work with Mik.
