I have 2 of these cameras and there is a few issues. First issue is tracking due to it being mounted on the front of the house with a lot of car traffic. Sometimes the motion will go left and the camera will go right and stop tracking. But more importantly the night vision is poor due to a bad design of the 3 floodlight panel bezels. Because the panels bezels are translucent you get light bleed back into the cameras dome causing a washed out image. I solved this issue by wrapping each individual bezel with electrical tape. So the tape folds over the front and back side to prevent light bleed back into the cameras dome.
@@raphael52 No after owning 3 different wifi brand cameras and now owing Poe cameras I would've wired everything up to begin with. Very nice channel and great reviews. Just to share with you, I switched 1 week ago from Arlo to Eufy and I have to say that I’m a little confused. Indeed with Arlo it was possible to set the scenario for all devices, with Eufy you can not do it. bad user experience when you have more than 1 device. But the worst thing to me is the fact that you can not set the scenarios according to days, hours etc … For instance, with Arlo my system was set with automatic trigger between 11pm and 6am and Geofencing during the day. Very useful and fully autonomous. Here with Eufy, you can not do it and you have to trigger manually for the night, one device by one device, and trigger manually once again when you leave home. You lose the main interest of reliable and autonomous system, bad choice Eufy !
Eufy needs integration of Homebase in all of their cameras. 24/7 recording would be preferred over motion activated recording. Human detection is poor, if you manually change any of the settings. Overall it is a good camera, with these glaring issues I have with it.
I have one of these for a couple of months. 1) I have two issues, one is weak wifi signal receiver. I have to keep wifi router on inside of wall next to where light is mounted. Any farther away and it looses signal. I have other wifi equipment that accesses the same router which are farther away but have no problems. 2) Setting camera positions for "Auto-Cruise" feature is unreliable. Two separate times I have set the four positions and then tried to define activity zones for each position. One time the camera only allowed access to one of the four positions, the second time I could access three of the four. After setting the four positions, the thumbnail image of the positions are sometimes blank, even though there is a position set for all. Another time after setting the positions, when I went back into looking at the Auto-cruise definition, some of the position definitions were changed. It has some picture and setting for three of the positions. Eufy is aware of these issues but have not been able to resolve them yet. I honestly don't see the use of the Auto-Cruise feature even with different positions set so I disabled it...
Looks like a good choice; I wonder about ice, snow, hail, rain, sunbleach resistance throughout the seasons. Also, I'm looking for a cloud video saving solution, or, is the local saving solution of this camera good?
I actually just emailed eufy because mine sucks. Completely inconsistent it'll record me coming up the driveway one day then the next day I can walk right past it and nothing. Just last night the delivery person came from the street to my door and got 3 feet away from the street and her car before it actually came on. When it works it's awesome tho. Worst of all someone stole stuff from my carport at night and it didn't come on till they were leaving and I was home by the time I went out they pulled away so its worthless.
The pan & tilt gears start grinding after a while, which tips-off the bad guys that they're being tracked. You can even hear this in the first few seconds of your video.
I ordered one and it’s otw but after watching all the reviews I’m tempted to just pay a little extra and have a real Poe camera system with regular or dumb flood lights. A little voice in my head and my gut says I’d be better off in the long run with the latter setup. Not sure though. What you guys think?
Good morning and how are you? I wanted to ask can the camera accept a larger SD card than 256? Also you mentioned about an updated version of this this video camera, is it released yet? Once the camera activates from a detection, can you program the flood lights to stay on as long as you like Thank you
Put a ceramic coating on the plastic dome and it might not need to be cleaned as often. Turtle was has some good ceramic spray for pretty cheap that is great.
I want a camera company that makes cameras with the quality of Eufy but that actually puts out quality software. They just don’t take functionality seriously. Also, and I mention this every time since I think it’s unacceptable, Eufy’s sync button security hole should be a deal breaker for most people. The fact that Eufy has received many complaints about this but refuses to fix it should concern any user.
Would you think installation is a problem when the wood plank is only around 1cm thick to hold all the weight? That’s what my terrace ceiling is having as an under construction.
I live in Canada Toronto. Have it for a year now and I notice there is FOG went inside the dome and temperature drops thens turns into a big issue, because it freeze the dome from inside out. Any advice of how to clear that out?
My issues are with the eufy ecosystem as a whole. I have this, the L20, and the battery 2k doorbell. Each device has different setting in the app and there is no way to set schedules for all of them at once. It is a small annoyance but it keeps me from recommending eufy cameras to people I know.

I have 2 of them and your absolutely correct, but I manually set mine to the 120 seconds recording and do not use end clip early toggle. Im glad I bought them, Early on I was having a stuttering video and audio issue but a firmware upgrade fixed it, it took a month though, I wasnt too happy. I wish there was a 24/7 recording option as well.

I have 4 of these for over a year now, replaced all my previous Eufy 1080p flood light cams which replaced my original plain LED flood lights. They’re pretty good for the most part. I share the lens issue, mine are mounted vertically on the sides of my home using the units swing down mount option due to my roof angles and locations. The night recording is definitely disappointing with the flare from the onboard lights and the dirt on the outer turret cover. Mine require a ladder to reach, so cleaning is a pain. Last time around I used Rain-X window cleaner with treatment combo, cleaning thoroughly then letting a generous amount sit on there for a min before buffing them again. It seems to have worked a little better at keeping the dirt off, but the design with the on board lighting still causes glare no matter what or how I adjust the light panels. The motion object tracking is iffy too, sometimes it sees motion tracks it, then ignores it and looks somewhere else where there’s no motion….wtf? Lastly the presets for where you want it to return to after tracking an object don’t always work, and I have to periodically reset the flood cam to get it back to the correct location. When using the manual turret rotate controls the unit will refuse to rotate up to the original view, giving a false message “rotational limit reached” when I know it goes further because that’s where it normally stops for my preset view. Only way to fix is selecting reset/reboot thru the app. Hindsight I should’ve waited for them to release in 4K. I have a total of 16 different Eufy cams including the 1080p wired door bell, and that’s a different issue with getting it to stay paired to multiple indoor Eufy doorbell modules. Everything is updated, 1 Gb fiber with CAT6 to both 1st and 2nd gen hubs in different locations, WiFi using Orbi AX6 with 3 Mesh satellites…any advice or just Eufy product fubars?
Use black electrical tape to cover up the bottom edges of the 3 light panels and that will stop the light glare. Looks like a new version of this floodlight will have a 4K option and it will no longer be a dome housing so this should cause it to not require frequent cleaning. Hopefully motion tracking will be improved with firmware updates or atleast better with a new version as I also seem to notice the tracking is hit or miss which isn't good as this should be an area where the camera excels at.
I have 3 of these cameras for more than 6 months. Most of the issues have been pilot error issues. This camera has settings that are not available on other video floodlight cameras. This means the settings are more complicated. I have one that needs to have the lens cleaned and I can't reach the camera to do this, Not EUFYs fault. I think I wish that I had an option for a Homebase controller. I like that the videos are not stored offsite in the cloud but if I lose a camera I can lose the videos stored In its memory. I really like these cameras.
Thanks for the great reviews. I have taken onboard what you have found and not bought the products. Please keep up the great reviews and I look forward to more great videos in the future. Kev
I got mine a few days ago so far it’s working okay. There has been some false alerts. One was a bug & another was plants moving in the wind when it’s on human detection! I wish it could be like the indoor cam that had the option to select between human, pets, everything & I think there’s another option… I live on a busy street but I want to make sure my car doesn’t get hit as several peoples cars have in the last few years. It did have a few weird recordings where it went back & forth when no humans are there… So far it does okay. But could be better… If i have more issues I’ll end up returning it. I wanted it so I don’t have to buy multiple cams for outside (live in a row home end of group) & figured this would be a good option… Wish we could zoom in better as well!
I bought one of these, but sadly I can not recommend. I've had issues with moisture getting inside the camera dome and now it won't even record with motion detection. I've been in contact with Eufy support and because I was 10 days over warranty, they can't help me and refuse to even deal with me. They offered an insulting 15% off a product valued at under $100, but that was it. That can't even go towards replacing this. I've researched and there are many others that have had this issue too. if you contact them within the 12 months, they will replace. But if you are out of that window they basically laught at you, yet this is a seriously defective product I have. I wished I had installed sooner, but service availability led to a waitlist and I had to wait that long. I won't be using Eufy products going forwad, slowly going to replace my current 4 cameras, this light and my smart lock with a company that stands behind their products and offers quality products. It sounded good in theory, but not so much now.
It appears that the camera is not recording a full minute at a time because the motion stops. I have the Eufy 2K Pro Cams and sometime they cut off recordings, but they are battery powered, and so I expect them to do that. Overall they record humans in my back and front yard brilliantly, but not 100% perfectly. But I seriously doubt any camera at this price point will provide perfect results. The Eufy floodlight pro you are reviewing appears to be the best floodlight camera available and sometime in the future I am going to install two of them on my house. Great review.
So I bought this and had it for about a week and had a power outage and it is now completely shot so I’m returning it so I can get a new one but other than that I love it
I've had mine for just over a month & I'm super impressed with it records in colour at night & its just like in the day & it knows when to turn the lights on its wicked well worth it craps all over my ring doorbell and I was going to get the ring one lol I'm so glad I didn't.
I have 6 of these installed at the sides and rear of my house. The traffic in these areas is small so I have no problem with the internal storage. I do wish there was a way to easily have the cameras transfer all clips at once to my computer for long-term storage, but this is minor. The biggest irritation that I have found is in the tracking. I find that following the subject is OK, but not great. However, the big weakness is that it makes many camera moves and during camera moves, the video is unusable. I noted your camera did the same thing during the first 20 seconds - too many camera moves and the aiming was not great (not awful, but you were not close to centered). I continue to think that these are the best solution currently available so I am satisfied...but a firmware tweak or two would be good. I also have the same weirdness of the clip duration - when we tell it to record for 60 seconds, we expect all videos to be 60 seconds!
One of my light lens covers came unglued after about a year, after the 12-month warranty expired. There was a gaping crack like a hungry crocodile's mouth. I've seen several other reports of this. Would not recommend.
My camera was working perfect for the first few months but for some reason the features on my iPad don’t work any more…ie the light/ alarm , look around feature and a few others don’t work. They work fine on my Samsung phone but not the iPad. Weird stuff.
Question i watch your videos.i have almost 14eufy it work fine after 2month i cannot connect if i use my phone wifi it wont connect to my camera.i change wifi router thinking that my issues.i really need help thnks
I've had mine for almost a year. One of my biggest frustration is the motion camera and how it detects and tracks moving objects. It swings, it jerks, and overshoot its motion target. A car or person passing by, it swings quickly and past the target and stays in that position. Other times the camera just always seems to miss just about everything beyond 30 ft., which is the end of my driveway. My eufy doorbell has better motion detection and range. There are so many more clips from my doorbell cam than my floodlight cam, both pointed in the same general direction. Reading discussions from both company brand forums, the detection range for these AI devices is roughly the same, give or take an "x" factor (according to an engineer). They both claim about 30 something feet. But having the eufy floodlight 2 pro cam not able to detect and record a "maximal range", the extreme motion swivel makes the product even more disappointing. In the end, I'd rather have a better FOV from a stationary cam than (what seems to be working as) a gimmick. *Edit [2023 November 15] I finally realized that this device doesn't record continuously 24-7 🤦♂ ... Why would there be a need for Home Base if devices couldn't record continuously 24-7 and have the option for an external HDD to contain 14 years of video clips or a couple years of continuous recording (as mentioned by a number of online reviewers)? 🤦♂
I’m just wondering if all the people commenting have there’s under a eave , mine is on my shop and I had it replaced once because water got in it and the second time it got water in the lense area. It’s probably been six months I just gave up on it
@@LifeHackster The first time the alarm sounded weak and abnormal . You could tell it got water in it. So I sent it back and they shipped another one.The second one lasted about 2 months and as you scanned around you could see the water inside, as more days went by it was like the moist would not come out and it would be foggy in spots and clear in other places
Hi. I've had mine for many months. unfortunately I encounter from time to time a problem where the camera does not register movements. I have to turn it off and on again for it to work again.
Yeah Eufy need to fix and changes this it also ok dual cam bell. I believe it's the 7.1gb that limits the recording. They probably have it set like that to save space. @@xander-mk4ck I put 4 of the Wyze floodlight cams on the exterior of my house just over a year ago. I'm here because this is the best channel for evaluating floodlight cams and I'm looking for replacements. I have had NUMEROUS issues with the Wyze floodlight cams. 1. Failures - I had 2 of the 4 units I purchased fail and had to replace them (under warranty) but now that they are out of warranty, I would not replace them with Wyze units again. 2. One of these cams overlooks my pool. It does not consistently work, false triggers on the movement of the water at times, and will not turn off at times intermittently. 3. One of these is installed in the eve above my garage door. There is not a way to override the sensor or AI settings on the light to just turn the fixture on until I turn it off with the app. Really poor design. I'm comparing what is available to see if there is a new relatively low cost winner.
I bought one and it is absolutely fantastic. Only problem is you cannot mount it higher than about 9' to 10'. I mounted mine where my flood lights are on a second floor soffit, 18' above the ground. The camera worked flawlessly for about 6 to 8 weeks then the camera stops picking up people after sunset. Customer service is outstanding from Eufy from my first hand experience. The alert time is fast, much faster than my Arlo cameras. If I had electrical box between 9' and 10' above the ground I would buy this flood light camera again. Again Eufy service is outstanding as evidenced by them offering to return the flood light with a full refund. Read more
I was seriously looking at this camera for my backyard but couldn't pull the trigger due to lack of app support for Mac. With Reolink releasing their Trackmix camera, I have no reason to get this camera now.

if the camera is mounted to say a back porch the rain will wash out the camera lens.. its need to be under a eve or buy a security camera cover. I agree it needs a 24/7 upgrade model..
I mean, TBH why do you want a month worth of recording? All you want are the clips where thief is trying to get in your house. As long as I can save clips I need I believe is enough.
18 months in and more than half the LEDs don't work. Water intrusion on the center grouping knocked half of those. Then the right group quit completely. The camera only has a 12 month warranty so Eufy will not make it right. These cost a lot of money for a short life span.
Just black screen on mine every time camera moves 6 months old now paying to uninstall remove and reinstall new plastic junk Will NEVER buy again Expensive and dosent last
Sorry to hear that. Contact them and get a replacement. Mine works but I have noticed peeling or oxidation of the paint on the floodlights themselves which I will make a video on soon.

So called AI on this thing is laughable. Insects, shaking leaves, animals Autos driving by outside monitoring zones, all can bombard you with alerts at anytime.

@@heathhardie616 i like tthe dome camera because its less obvious tracking, do you prefer the E340 over the S330?
I have 3 of these cameras for more than 6 months. Most of the issues have been pilot error issues. This camera has settings that are not available on other video floodlight cameras. This means the settings are more complicated. I have one that needs to have the lens cleaned and I can't reach the camera to do this, Not EUFYs fault. I think I wish that I had an option for a Homebase controller. I like that the videos are not stored offsite in the cloud but if I lose a camera I can lose the videos stored In its memory. I really like these cameras.
Thank you for sharing your experience.
Hey folks, does this camera need a base unit or does it install independent of a base unit?
What is range or angle/direction of PIP senor works, i.e. at which direction/angle and distance we can trigger the lights on?
Eufy floodlight cam 2 pro vs reolink trackmix comparison video next?
Thanks for the great reviews. I have taken onboard what you have found and not bought the products. Please keep up the great reviews and I look forward to more great videos in the future.
Kev
Thank you.
Thank you for sharing your experience.
So is a sealant needed between the junction box and the device?
Lisa, is your camera mounted under cover like in this video or exposed to the outside? I don't have the camera but may be looking to buy ti.
@@scokim No, mine is not, but it was said to be waterproof.
I see quite a few complaints about this..I was on the fence since it is on sale but I think I'm just gonna skip this one.
So I bought this and had it for about a week and had a power outage and it is now completely shot so I’m returning it so I can get a new one but other than that I love it
Sorry to hear that.
Can you set the lights all different angles around
I've had mine for just over a month & I'm super impressed with it records in colour at night & its just like in the day & it knows when to turn the lights on its wicked well worth it craps all over my ring doorbell and I was going to get the ring one lol I'm so glad I didn't.
Will this record motion during the daytime?
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experience.
Try to reduce tracking sensitivity. For me it solved the too many moves issue
I'll probably just get the 2c pro
One of my light lens covers came unglued after about a year, after the 12-month warranty expired. There was a gaping crack like a hungry crocodile's mouth. I've seen several other reports of this. Would not recommend.
My camera was working perfect for the first few months but for some reason the features on my iPad don’t work any more…ie the light/ alarm , look around feature and a few others don’t work. They work fine on my Samsung phone but not the iPad. Weird stuff.
What happens if multiple people are moving in different directions?
It’s probably been six months I just gave up on it
That’s doesn’t look good..I really haven’t tested its weather resistance…
@@LifeHackster The first time the alarm sounded weak and abnormal . You could tell it got water in it. So I sent it back and they shipped another one.The second one lasted about 2 months and as you scanned around you could see the water inside, as more days went by it was like the moist would not come out and it would be foggy in spots and clear in other places
Hi. I've had mine for many months. unfortunately I encounter from time to time a problem where the camera does not register movements. I have to turn it off and on again for it to work again.
Thanks for sharing your experience.
Same issue kinda defeats the purpose of a security camera if 20% of the time it doesn't come on or comes on too late.
Matters not as I do not use any camera that are not ONVIF (NVR) compatible.
Yeah Eufy need to fix and changes this it also ok dual cam bell. I believe it's the 7.1gb that limits the recording. They probably have it set like that to save space. But it's pointless if the person/people go back and enter to your home. It happen I had my other cam caught the guy walk back and enter my yard driveway. I just bought 3 or these and the door cam. Maybe I return my 2nd door cam. They disable the for you not to use your existing chime on wired crazy
I need help with the resetting Eufy they're not connect to the Wi-Fi have it for 2 year but got deleted from the app I'm trying to reinstall but it's telling me no Wi-Fi and it's their what to do can I reset it to manufacture
A 1 year review of the wyze cam floodlight please and thank you !
I personally don’t use this setup but we will see.
@@LifeHackster why not ? 2 v3’s for 24/7 recording . Beats this Eufy floodlight and cheaper . It’s a hidden gem
Wait this is not 24/7 recording ?
What about a night demonstration! So you can show the lighting and its effectiveness.

You said the same exact thing on someone els review are you a bot?
I was seriously looking at this camera for my backyard but couldn't pull the trigger due to lack of app support for Mac. With Reolink releasing their Trackmix camera, I have no reason to get this camera now.
The Eufy Security iOS app works perfectly on an Apple Silicon Mac. I'm running it right now on an M1 MacBook Pro.
@@thecliff4838
My understanding is that their Mac app only download recorded video, not viewing live or recorded video. Is that the case still? Does the Mac app have all the functions that their mobile app provides?
@@malin7919 You can install the iOS app on newer Macs. Works exactly like having an iPad.
@@thecliff4838
I have M1 Macbook Air. Not all iOS apps run on M1. Tesla iOS app, for example, won't run on M1.
@@malin7919 Okay… why don’t you try it instead of typing more comments?
hi from Saudi 👍
Would you put this camera over your driveway? If not, which floodlight camera do you have over your driveway?
they need to add an alarm to this camera!
It has an alarm.
I have this camera and this has so many false triggers no matter what setting i set it to. The sad thing is is loves to record my trash can....
Update the camera is messup. I can't pin down my camera it said reach limited error bug update. Also It misses people walking in my driveway. It record one person for less then 18sec and miss all the rest lol.
Been looking at it wished it wasn't costly
It constantly goes on sale. It's 10% off at Amazon right now and I've seen it as low as 229.
if the camera is mounted to say a back porch the rain will wash out the camera lens.. its need to be under a eve or buy a security camera cover. I agree it needs a 24/7 upgrade model..
Thanks for sharing your experience.
I really wish companies would stop using cool white LED's, I hate them!
Is eufy going to implement vehicle detection?
LOL, they've been promising this for over a year now.
I want one!. Too expensive
Reolink Trackmix Wifi half the price twice as nice.
Just black screen on mine every time camera moves 6 months old now paying to uninstall remove and reinstall new plastic junk
Will NEVER buy again
Expensive and dosent last
Sorry to hear that. Contact them and get a replacement. Mine works but I have noticed peeling or oxidation of the paint on the floodlights themselves which I will make a video on soon.
Mine has intermittent black screen after 6 months installed when camera moves screen blacks out and I have to reset camera
Now I have to pay to disconnect remove this junk take it to store get a replacement and pay to re wire
Pretty upset that it is rubbish camera it cost a lot !
oh no! Which one did u get to replace it. Because i was looking at this one or the Ring Pro 2 floodlight or the Reolink one
💐👍💐
So called AI on this thing is laughable. Insects, shaking leaves, animals Autos driving by outside monitoring zones, all can bombard you with alerts at anytime.
Doesn't seem worth the $300 price tag. Not sure if I even want to spend $150 on it.
Ring and Arlo price their floodlight at 250 and they don't pan and tilt. Plus Eufy is subscription free. You will save money long term with them.
Awesome! We would like to make something great with you, welcome to check your mailbox!😄
