You US product link works....if amazon had any to sell in the US
I see makita have just released a new one in Japan. Only takes one of each battery though. Says it takes the bl4050. Not sure about the bl4080
Thanks., you took the details to another level., others just don't know how to discover an item correctly.
Been waiting gor ages for this to come out in Australia. It's at least finally on pre-order, as well as the 40v planner
Does Makita realize they created a crockpot?
They really have covered everything we need. Hope your well
Perfect Aussie eskeeeeeeee
Looks like a pretty good peice of kit for working on site where there arent any amenities.
I think the warmer test would have been more valid had you put a couple of meat pies and sausage rolls in it. Real world stuff. Swing past the bakery at 6am on the way to work and hot pie for smoko and lunch....
That is a nice one.
This is fantastic
Didn't know you were in Devo, Classic!
Really need a review on the DFR551
I have a Metabo on the way and just saw this AFTER I ordered the Metabo. Disappointed that the Metabo will only do 17 degrees C for its max cold which is... pitiful. But it'll warm up to 140 degrees F. The Metabo also has a slightly larger capacity. While I'm bummed the Metabo (older I presume) doesn't have a USB port or a bottle opener (that I'd likely never use). It's only $179 US compared to $649 for the Makita! I can't drop that kind of coin on a cooler and be happy. I hear from the comments that Hikoki has one too.
I usually finish my beer before the ice melts so I guess I'll stay with an ice cooler
My question is how fast it needs from room temperature to -18c ?
You should do a test and add the ground auger attachment to that Right Angle drill … they are apparently the same drill.
I know they are... stay tuned.
I actually got one two weeks ago! (cause I wanted to use it for a trip over Easter)
Absolutely love it! Super super handy to have in the car on long trips!
Can it be plugged into a car?
-18 degrees is what you need to freeze ice cream, hence that setting
That's how you test if your freezer is actually working or not, test your ice cream, it should be rock hard at that temperature
Okay I watched the long and short version of this video. You can call me a nerd now.
But the cooler is nice. It got smashed on a German channel for beeing too expensive and having not enough cooling volume for 1 liter and 1.5 liter bottles. But for a battery powered Compressor cooler it's reasonable priced I think.
I need it.
I’m in Australia, & the best thing is as it’s bought from a tool shop it’s a full tax write off 👍👍
We need our tools
That's not what the law says lol but yeah I'd do the same thing and def get away with it
Need cold brews on hot days, 100% legit
100% it's a OH&S requirement 😂
got mine last year, i use it everyday stay in the van
I really like this, even the price is not that bad considering the performance. There are a couple of features that I'd hope it has, that would work really well for my use case.
I wonder if you had it plugged in to vehicle power, would it switch to the batteries automatically if the vehicle power is lost. A friend and I do lots of driving, and like to have our food/drinks with us during our shifts. With the price of fuel though we may shut the vehicle off, or it may shut itself off, throughout the day. It would be nice to know this cooler work to keep things at your desired temperature.
Great review, cheers!
It can switch to battery after lose car’s power. I’ve done that test before
@@ericweng1591 Awesome. Thanks for the feedback.
I want to see the thing do -18
Hikoki has a similar one, but slightly taller and with the fridge/freezer separation.
So I assume there will be a new version of this Makita fridge comming soon :)
Add in ability to recharge batteries when plugged in... I'd totally be game
Would like MAKITA to charge the batteries in the 40v cooler. It would help to go further in time. I hope they do make a charger that chargers the batteries.
Would also like to add a separate cooler and freeze compartment and a warmer. Thankyou have great weekend
I ordered the 40v version after watching your review, but its come without a 240v power adapter. I'm proper annoyed about that, can i order that separately?
What country do you live in?
why did you only go to 10 degrees?
I want one, but I can't find where to buy one in the US. So sad
Yeah found it on Ebay but real expensive shipping.
hello from France, I'm going to buy one to leave it in the van and take it to the construction site when I feel like it. would you have measured the consumption when it is connected to 12v? kiss
Very cool, £470 gbp - not cheep
It has a gap between 10 and 30 degrees C. That's frustrating if you want to keep your food at 20 degrees C just to keep chocolate bars from melting in a hot car.
Will it charge a depleted battery when plugged in?
Doubt it. The 18v doesn't
I'm considering buying into a system rn and this would be a nice addition if so.
At $700, i cant see it as a reason to get a system but def a nice add if it also charges
@@angrydragonslayer the thing is already heavy and the compressor takes up so much space fitting charging components would take up more space and make it heavier.
@@hackjob7687 among the many things i am, i am only lacking a few classes to be qualified as an electrical engineer, i can say that the needed components to make a drain/charge circuit are only slightly bigger than a drain/standby circuit
@@angrydragonslayer I'm sorry, but you have a couple more classes to go, before we can take you seriously. .. We are going to have to assume the comment with absolutely no credentials is true.
If I put dry ice in this and lift the lid just a little will I get Air conditioning on the job site? lol
Will it completely freeze water bottles?
Yes. It gets as cold as a freezer.
Put a bag of ice in it to bring the temperature down faster
Can you fit two, 8.0ah XGT packs?
Also, can you change this from Celsius to Fahrenheit using the buttons on the display?
Yes, Yes
Okay I watched to long and short version of this video. You can call me a nerd now.
But to the cooler is nice. It got smashed on a German channel for beeing too expensive and having not enough cooling volume for 1 liter and 1.5 liter bottles. But for a battery powered Compressor cooler it's reasonable priced I think.
Got a question, if this is plugged into the wall does it charge the batteries as well?
No
What’s it’s IP rating
IPX4
pretty cool device. probably quite expensive though... lets see what it says. OMG 700 gbp in the uk.
anyhow aside from the price i would say 1 thing they could improve is to be able to set the temperature to only 2 or 3 celcius. would be a nicer starting temperature for sandwiches and other chilled food. and give more headroom for the temp to increase later on during the day. and then make using a smaller capacity battery last a bit longer before the food got too warm
but what i am really thinking is just find a much cheaper product, from a different manufacturer. nice as this one is
The price for this in the UK is crazy. I thought it was super expensive here, but it's around 200 quid cheaper than there.
@@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL lol i didn't think to check... in that case maybe the price of it should come down at some point. to be more inline with other countries amazon (...however maybe this also is true for other new XGT tools in the UK. which have kept for too long their initial over inflated launch prices
but especially after adding the price of the XGT batteries here. it just ends up becoming way too ridiculous. at least with the 18v LXT platform i can stand a chance to make (or rather refurbish / renew) the battery packs
IPA!
"What more could you want?": A metal saw.

I have one in the United States 💯💯💯
I'm in the US and want one. How can I get my hands on it?
@@HelenaOfDetroit eBay but it’s a pretty penny
You can sous vide at 60 C!
Who’s Vide and why would I want to sue them??
how big a hunk of meat could somebody fit in there then? the thicker half an of alligator tail?

Omg ❤😍 i want one ,, SO! DAMN ! COOL/HOT 🤣
🙏✝️🙏amen🙏✝️🙏
It's almost the exact format of the Ryobi one. I'm guessing Makita makes the Ryobi cooler
No they most definitely do not! Ryobi tools are TTI. Makit do not make tools for other major brands. If you put the Ryobi next to this, you would see they are nothing alike.
@@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL thanks for the info!
These would be great for an uber eats driver
Or one of these ruclips.net/video/0RYwaDaIOwk/видео.html
If it can heat/warm too its basically a mini heat pump. Reversing valve must switch the coils around. Pretty impressive on such a small scale. Now milwaukee needs to come out with one
They've just released an even smaller one...
I think the heating mode just uses electric heating elements, rather than using the compressor.
. ПЕРВЫЙ Я 👍
Nyet 😆
Why they put the battery compartment inside the cooler.. should've made it outside. More room in the cooler
Are you for real???
@@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL as a heart attack. I think weather proof compartment on the ends. And 2 batteries? Its a lil too much
700 hundred dollars I’ll just stick to a cheap cooler and add ice smh
The only issue with it is, it has a 4 point battery meter on it, it should be a 3 point battery meter like makita tools....
The 40v have 4 points
A bag of ice everyother day is cheaper.
Some salt nd you're set
Ten degrees Celsius is fifty degrees Fahrenheit - not very cold when compared to an ordinary fridge. Not a realistic test.
A fridge is typically set about 40F/4C.
Max 40F too. This is only useful as a beverage cooler which is still nice I suppose.
These freeze to minus 18 ?
I couldn't test every temperature setting without losing the will to live. Watch the full review on my other channel for more. And yes, it goes down to 0°F or -18°C if you want your beverages solid.
@@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL Ahh, okay!
@@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL lol nice one
Bad design. And takes 2 batteries.
How many did you want it to take? It only uses one at a time which you would have learnt had you watched the video.
@@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL 7 battery's, one for every Day
