Thank you so much! :D I've never played table tennis until college. Since I watched you videos, I really learned a lot more than our professors. The skills and techniques in your videos improved mg game play. :D I'll be our section's representative for the school's tournament and it's all thanks to your teachings. :D I've almost watched your videos. Thanks again. :) I'll invite my good buddies to watch also. :D You guys ROCK!! God Bless and keep the passion. :D
If you wish to start attacking you may need to take a bit of a risk. You'll need to topspin their topspin which we have a video on. You can find it on our website. Take a look and see if it helps you out.
What I like to do, after I'm done doing strokes is blocking. My friends love to loop, which allows me plenty of blocking practice. My more experience friend/coach tells me to loosen my hold slightly, to absorb the force of the ball so that the ball returns to my training partner slow and pretty high. This is only used for practice, but it's a good stepping stone for using blocking in a game. After a while I found blocking a lot more natural.
It's hard to keep up with all the different equipment available as there are just so many options. If you go to our website you can ask this question under our "ask the coach" section and we'll open it up to our readers and see if they have any advice for you.
Yes I had the same probelem a while ago great advice, it does work. I was just wondering though if you could recomend any very fast carbon blades under the price of $100 something smooth with good feeling and fine wood?
Here is my 2-penny. When you will become comfortable with blocking, try to change the angle of your bat to place the ball where you wish. If you can place it either too far from his previous shot or to his body, you may get a weaker return to attack on that. This my policy. As to make topspin drive takes more time to get back to the initial position than an efficient blocking, it may put him slightly off-balance if you place it well.
+Josie Morales He does have a very good serve! We have a course on the PingSkills website for our premium members called Serving Secrets. In there we teach all about the serve including the pendulum serve which is one of Ma Long's favourite serves.
Hi....I wanted to ask u that what should we do if we are really nervous on our match day and we can't play well during the match because we are nervous.....i have this issue many times during a match.......Pls advise me.....Thanking you.... Nikhil Singhee
For the fast serves a good strategy to start with is to block them back. Don't try to hit the ball too hard but rather try to place it well so it will be hard for your opponent. As you grow in confidence you can then start to topspin the ball. Our tutorials on the forehand and backhand topspin will help you with this. Good luck!
Because it's hard to defend smashes. Try keeping the ball low and short over the net on your serve so your opponent cannot smash it. Then you can try and attack first.
Yes it is. I'm glad you liked the video.

Thank you for those basic lessons. They really help. Relaxing is the key.
Great question and one that might need a bit more room to answer. Take a look on our website and ask a question under the Ask the Coach section.

sir alois, very good advice ! but how do i transition from blocking game to a topspin game to win the point in a rally?
So this is a block lesson, I'm a defense player and yes! You explained right
relaxing is also important for moving and attacking
It is difficult with only 6 balls. Multi-ball is more effective when you've got at least 50 balls.
Yes thank you very much I might buy it :)
thanks, great advice :)
I don't know why but I never panicked when there was smash, just placed my bat where the ball approximately came (not always of course...).
Thanks you.
I don't have my own table, but I'm pretty good where could I practice?
It sure is.
can you teach me how to serve like MA Long

I can't defend all the opponent smashes, sometimes the ball was going out of the table.why?
