Relaxing is key as well as enjoyment, being serious and competitive will also cause stress....... Another big tip is to finish your stroke and reset to neutral, the faster you can get into neutral the quicker you'll be able to have more time to get into position and more likely to have an amazing shot!
Dear Alois, this is one of your best videos. The beginners must be made understand the advantage of being relaxed during the practice, which will ultimately improve their stroke action.
Yeah, recently I have been thinking about my own game exactly in that way: very tense. One thing helping me to get trough is by pursuing a whipping action in the movement.
Timo Boll recently was asked: "Timo please give us two pro tips to improve in table tennis". Answer: stand deeper, and tense abdominal muscles ! So I understand your relaxation hint, but I think it's also worthwhile too mention the "tense-perspective" (?)
Helpful video...it is better to stay relaxed when making the strokes. Please can you do a video on 3rd & 5th ball attack? I have good serves but very poor 3rd ball play.
How you serve determines what your opponents options are, so if those options aren't favourable shots for you to attack against - you may want to change serve or acquire new techniques to combat existing serve
@@koshgam Valid point, how do I attack the 3rd ball when my opponent fails to attack my serve and return a long ball. Most times I want to win the point with my serve so I'm barely ready for the return ball.
@@azibaluaabadi8698 resetting into neutral ready position after every shot/serve will increase your ability to be able to react to whatever your opponents are doing, this is one of the great fundamentals of table tennis, and the only way you'll be ready for the next shot, no matter what they will do
@@koshgam thanks James, I believe you've hit the nail on the head. I'll always try to reset to the natural position and be ready for the next ball. 🏓🏓🏓🏓
So true , if you look at a good dancer , he is fluid and smooth while the other one is tense and jerky , as they say in good-old Usa : easy does it. What is the saying in UK ?
Sir I have been playing table tennis for 9 years and I am deciding to buy a custom bat. I want suggestion on the rubber, I have mark 5 and dhs hurricane 3 neo in mind please guide me what to buy and will a combination of both of them be good choice. It really comes down to personal preference. The rubbers you have mentioned are good quality so it sounds like a good option to me. Enjoy as getting new equipment is always fun!
I like you guys, but the manner of the tip in this video is like saying "being poor is bad; don't be poor, be rich". HOW? HOW do you relax your muscles while playing? That is the only meaningful question we need answered. I'm afraid that it only comes naturally with a lot of practice and training anyway, making this whole video completely pointless, since it doesn't event tell you that.
@@pingskills agreed, most people aren't even aware that they aren't relaxed, and thus injury can occur without even the player thinking they aren't relaxed, as over the years they have normalized their playing style.
First. I'm quite happy that pingskills is coming back with new vids
Thanks for your support!
Me who just found this channel yesterday:
Poor guys probably have nothing else to do, living in the leper state isn't much fun ☹
But a big thanks, I can at least dream of practicing again.
@@chriskennedy7534 haha, yes being in Victoria is not "the place to be" that's for sure!
wow when you're relaxed even the sound of the ball is different when you hit it wit the racket.
Yeah it is interesting to notice that.
Thank you coach...
This video was really informative and i surely learnt something new...
I respect your efforts and talent...
FOLLOWING THIS CHANEL SINCE 2015 , EVEN IF I DON'T PLAY TT ANYMORE , I JUST LOVE TO SEE THEIR VIDS.
I'm glad you still enjoy our videos. Hopefully one day you'll return to table tennis.
Very important information

Great demo,
I have to constantly remind myself to relax a otherwise end up with sore shoulder after practise.
BTW where is Jeff Travolta
haha, I was behind the camera and returning the ball. Cheers, Jeff.
Thankyou very much....
You're welcome.
I think this is the most important thing to learn in table tennis
It certainly helps.

Good point. You certainly don't want to be totally relaxed and you need to engage your muscles but fluently. And the core is so important.
The athleticly ready position is very sustainable, and used for nearly every sport🌞

Not breathing properly and not griping the racket tight are probably some of the bigger factors, as they both have rippling affects.
