    so if you're on a remote trail where often there isnt internet connection on your phone you cant fly it about properly? is there a version which doesnt need your phone to work?

      You don’t need internet connection to fly, just for initial setup. There are other DJI models that have a dedicated remote, but it would be heavier for you to carry both your phone and the beefed up remote.

      @@TommyGunner86 I just check everything is ready to go the night before my trip. I check the software is all updated, that my phone can connect successfully, batteries are charged, and the memory card is empty and in the drone.

      @@TrailTime Have you gotten you FAA 107 license? Huge concern of ours before we start with drones and hiking.

      Not yet, but my drone is registered with the FAA and I plan on getting my 107 license once I start monetizing my videos 🙂
