These boys are a tonic.
The torch bearers have arrived God bless the flame
I first seen these fellas on the Tommy Tiernan show they played a song called codliver oil and the orange juice I didnt think much of it at first but the more it resonated in my head eventually I gave it a second listen, its genius pure poetry! Ala Kupla Khan poem it packs in so much info in so few words, these guys should be treasured and never be out of work. Underrated Brilliance as is so often the case with irish art.
You should hear Hamish Imlachs version of the song so 😉 the lads are unreal but hamish really is something else!
It takes balls to take on songs immortalised by Luke Kelly and pure talent to put it off. The vocal performance is amazing, Andrew even brings out bits which Luke doesn't, but I also love the guitar part in open tuning.
Came across them only tonight on Irish Folks awards on RTE , Interesting group 🥸😁
Ho ho hup the lads
'and its down in the fall roads, it's where I long to be, lyin' in the dark with a provo company ... '

So, as the opposing viewpoint of "Rosemary Lane," this is actually quite sad, particularly given the tones of the two songs and the reasons why they differ so greatly.
