Just downloaded the beta and I can say the performance boost is great! Running framegen it is super smooth and my temps have been lower since updating

No wonder it took so long with a mammoth list of patches described. That been said the grass tiles on taxiway like at CYYZ no mater the sim settings and the loss of radio one by one when many AI traffic and ATC talks over each other is an issue that affected me since the beginning. I just bought beyond ATC to see if it would solve it. I welcome MSFS works , the sim is wonderful beyond my wildest dream. I didn't have crashes issue since long but sometimes slowdown on longer flights of about 1h with airliners. I hope they spreads the sim to many CPU treads so we could have better frame rate in VR. I am happy when I barely reach 30FPS with AERO or Crystal with my Ryzen 5800x3d and nvidia 4090 !!! The new autoFPS makes miracles now!

Have they fixed the runway reset when changing aircraft on the world map bug that was added months ago? And the tilting drone camera when moving it around without inputing a tilt command bug that was added about two years ago?

I’ve always been under the impression that NVCP controls the anisotropic filter and texture supersamplimg and you turn them off in the sim. At least that’s what I’ve been running.
Do you recommend the way you are doing it?
I have the anistropic filtering off in the sim and 16x in NVCP, but not texture supersampling. I'll have to look into that!

There is not much to do. Just start your sim and download the update
He can you do a test on ASOBO'S A320neo go on the MCDU and see if they have calibrated the miles to destination on it and EFOB statistics (like LVFR).
Thanks for the preview! I didn't participate in this Beta so I'll be updating on the 23rd. I presume I'll need to do your suggested routine regarding clearing the shader cache as I do with any Nvidia driver update or sim update. I'd like to leave my Community folder and my graphics customizations (auto FPS, DLSS Swapper, Frame Gen, etc). Do you see any issues? Microsoft recommends starting with a clean Community folder but that's a pain because some of the payware aircraft like the Fenix and PMDG have to be reinstalled, etc. Any guidance on how best to update to SU15?

If they ONLY fix the stuttering, it'll be a game changer for me. I fly Ultra settings on everything too, as well as out of large 3rd party airports (plus a hefty traffic injector) - but the stuttering has been horrendous regardless of settings and add-ons. On, off, Ultra or Low; nothing fixes it. Thanks for keeping us up to date and... fingers crossed for the fixes!

stuttering is something you need to fix by yourself

So you blame the game for your performance issues?
I've never gotten stutters on very high graphics, 3070ti.

I play in VR with a 3080. I am looking for improvements to the glass screen performance of GA and helicopters.

Upgraded last year from a 2070super to 4070ti OC _ Absoloute waste of money including when using frame gen until this beta which I joined last week, now I’m getting immense performance smooth as silk, every update before that my cards struggled with this sim just as my 2070super did, running a i7-10700k which isn’t great I know, but hopefully fingers crossed this update holds up as it’s brilliant so far !

i fly on a motion rig and taxiing feels waaaaaaaaaay too overexxagerated now, I had to go from 75 to 25% of gain for the lateral axis (at least for ga planes) felt much more natural before...
They fixed the ATC going quiet during a flight????? Oh Happy days! C'mon Thursday, get here already! LOL
Don't mind me, I'm new to MSFS 2020, use it in VR and let the autopilot fly, I just really enjoy looking around at various parts of the world! :)
That ATC going quiet bug is driving me nuts and takes away from the fun of a flight.
If you’re so inclined you could just join the beta now and get it early. And that’s great, we all get to use the sim how we want. I’d that’s what you enjoy that’s wonderful!

In your general settings, why don’t you standardly run the Holy Grail 3840 x 2160 with DLAA? Thank you for that video too by the way. Have been getting beautiful results with that!
Hey Jeff! Sometimes I do, it really depends on where I'm flying and what the scenery demand is. Running DLSS-Quality gives you some of the performance back from upscaling to 2.25 times.

There has been this issue for a while now with MSFS that the sim will always launch in window mode. Is this update supposed to finally fix it ?

I have the beta preview currently installed, and Yes.
It also fixes the Maverick carrier take-off mission (there was a bug for at least the past month on fresh installs).
Unfortunately, I now get massive stutters in VR where I previously had none.
Flying the final VFR training mission for example, I'll get two major ones (1 second or more 🤬).
One if I activate the mouse cursor mid-flight, and another as I approach the final airport at about 6000 feet.
And this is a very trivial piece of content. (My main thread is typically hovering around 7ms on a 7800X3D.)

After testing it I'm getting ugly tile flashing in ORLANDO INTL. UGLY in directx 12. I tried it several times. I also noticed some flashing white while in the air. All this in VR (QUEST 3)
Thanks for the great update on SU15. Have you shown what your Nvidia settings are? Maybe I missed it but I'm glad you showed your MSFS graphics settings!

@@IslandSimPilot Thanks, that saved me some time searching your videos. After I followed your guide and got DLSS 3.70 running, I wasn't sure if the Nvidia settings needed to be tweaked. This video showed that to be true and I didn't have DSR Factors set right. Now, I've added DL Scaling 1.78x and 2.25x. Thanks for the all the work you've put into this!
It's May 23rd, and no update when I started Sim today
Hey Islandsimpilot. I have a 4080 super/7800x3d and 32gigs of ram yet my buildings still show mushed and melted or like 3/4 processed (apocalyptic). I have photogrammetry on. I see countless people on youtube running lesser setups with beautiful ground visuals. Do you know what the problem or settings can be that's causing this?
Something else you didn't hit on is the new tire simulation to improve how planes handle on the ground.

When you select "ATIS" and get the info you need then change to the ground FREQ. does the scrolling "Text" finally go away?
Not sure, I haven't used the stock ATC in literally years.

Hi. I'm wondering if you could help me. Since the .18 build I have a massive stuttering anytime during the cruise, it's completely reproducible, and this was not happening in the .17 build of SU15. I have already tried to reinstall the GPU drivers and delete the NVIDIA shader cache. It's driving me insane, because the Sim is basically unplayable.
What about addressing the problems with g sync ? It’s the only game that flickers on my computer and I’m not the only one
Hey. Believe it or not, the g sync flicker went away when I turned ON motion blur. Had been turning it off since game launch, once I turned it on (either low/m/h) the flicker went away.
Can't explain it...
Flying at night without ANY flicker has been "game changing". I used to only fly during daylight, where the flicker was less noticeable.
Maybe it will work for you too.

Are you on the beta? I’ve never had flicker using G-Sync with Flight Simulator, on a LG CX TV.
Did they fix the problem with the outsized trees? (A bug since Flight Sim 4.0)
with regards to the performance u were getting what cpu, gpu and amount of vram do u have?
12700K/3080ti/32 GB.
Rtx 4080/5900x,nvme.VR support is not benefit with CPU bottlecks.Loading times are awful with no directstorage support
People, let Asobo make a care free update! Patience please, getting it earlier and finding issue's is a let down, so look forward to the ultimate day we get our ...last 2020 update~!

Yes indeed! If you want to join the beta now you're getting the update a few days early.
I wonder if any of you guys here use the MSFS triple screen setup (experimental)? Since some time now (latest update?) the FS doesn't retain the triple screen settings, it will place window 1 on top of window 2 on the same screen (next to the main screen window "0"). So every time after startup you have to switch the main window "0" back to full screen and then switch window 1 to windowed, drag it to the correct screen and put it back in full window. Very annoying as you can imagine. Does anyone know if this is resolved in update 15? Or any other solution?

How about clouds baking into the terrain?!
That isn't baking. It comes from the aerial photography they use. Baking implies multiple layers of textures being baked into one but this is not the case here. You'll see the same thing on Google Earth and Maps where there are not only clouds but also airplanes captured in the photos.

I prefer that MS take a longer time to test and provide an application with fewer bugs.
When will they include a visibility setting? Being not able to set one mile/half mile vis makes it a no-go. It’s not a sim. It is just a game now.

Honestly I’m not impressed with the inibuilds a320 Neo. Why? Because it has the same LEAP engine as the FBW and the stock a320 Neo. All these developers wanna make the same set of aircraft’s with the same engine option. What about the PW engine? These engines have that unique engine whale sound when they get a little throttle for taxi, takeoff and landing. It would be great if we could get that. The a320 and 321 use the PW1100G and the a220 use the PW1000G. If some of you are not sure what sound I’m talking about, do a search here on RUclips for the pw engine whale sound. Anyways that’s just my 2cents on these airbuses.
Hey buddy! I think the main reason they did this is so that the XBox crowd would have a better A320. I'm not an Airbus guy, so I don't have the knowledge that you do.
@@IslandSimPilot Well yea I understand what you’re saying about the Xbox peoples, it would be great for them as they don’t have the FBW. But I’m saying, with all these airbuses, they could atlease give us a different engine type. But it is what it is. I’ll still try it out when it releases any way.
I'm hoping the PFD and MFD has better resolution displays than the Asobo A320 and FBW 320NX. Even though I'm using a very good 4k monitor the current airplane displays can be grainy and hard to read. I hope the IniBuilds A320 Neo is easier on the eyes with better fonts.

Such a big update it scares the shit out of me. What will be broken? Having got to the point where I get everything running smoothly, I’m nervous.

I don't believe SU15 will be an optional update once it's released.
@@xeldinn86 you can’t. It will auto download. That’s ok hopefully it won’t be an issue but traditionally there are always things it breaks and I use a few add ons so will just have to see.
What pity it will not download, flashes up on the screen then continues into the Sim

Is anyone having problem with the SIM not saving full screen? In other words, when you start up the Sim, it's always in windowed mode and you change it to full screen, apply and save and it doesn't save it for the next time

I just thought it was a setting on my computer. It started zoomed in . Ironically I had to click on maximize to bring it back down in size to fit my screen.
Great performance here with a 5800x3D rtx4080 super even with FG off.
How much GB the SIM Update 15 have?
Does it really matter? You'll have to get it to fly the sim on release so the size is truly irrelevant.
