Always astonished about your production. This genuinely feels like a big budget TV show but it being a RUclips channel it also has that personal feel to it. Brilliant
@@AMMO-NYC what's the average production time for a video? I appreciate all the hard work you put into the videos. I've been following you for years and have always loved your content.
Larry driving his cars year round, and taking meticulous care of every component despite how busy he’s been is the reason I still watch every video after more than 10 years
@@AMMO-NYCIs the Bendpak Scissor Lift IP65 Rated or Waterproof of some sort? Can it handle getting wet or soak in water all the time? I’d like to install a lift in my garage and use it for washing the undercarriage of the car during winter.
My favorite thing about Larry is not only his attention to detail but how he seeks out other professionals with the same passion, nerdyness and attention as himself. And on top of that he gets just as into their craft as they do. Pointing out all there clever ingenuity.
This video hits every one of crazy Larry’s perfectionism and his insane attention to his craft. Respect Larry for taking the extreme to levels beyond the human brain. Best channel on utube and the best channel for learning about true auto detailing craft. Just incredible.
Brave man installing a clear bra onto fresh paint. Shops around here won't install a clear bra until after about 90 days to ensure the paint is finished off-gassing and completely cured.
some of us just have OCD. once we start we get carried away. I was just going to put PPF on my bumper turned into doing the whole car.. then I got a package in the mail it was my new cell phone with the leftover ppf, I measured cut and wrapped my phone instead of going to get the case and screen protector, just did it myself. 😆 friends were like you're insane..relax! I can't! you're the best. keep up the perfection
It is shocking to me that as much care and precision you have in every video, that there is another level above that for your own car. Unbelievable! Beautiful car, beautiful work.
Lol….sees a tiny rust spot and completely refurbishes the entire car. Only AMMO NYC. That’s attention to detail in a category above everything. Nicely done🎉.
I wish I could be as OCD as you about anything in my life, Larry. I mean that in the best way possible. The attention to detail is seriously incredible. Keep up the great work, and thank you for inspiring those of us who are not as "detail"-oriented.
Hi Larry. . . Several years ago, you posted 2 videos on *How to Apply Undercoating* to vehicles, featuring your Porsche 964 (27 Nov 2014) and Chevy Impala SS (15 Dec 2015). After gaining 8 more years of detailing experience, would you still recommend a full undercoating for vehicles in northern climates today? Why, or why not?. . . As always, sir, THANK YOU for having the heart of a teacher! I appreciate your willingness to share professional detailing tips to automotive DIY-ers like myself.
It's all in the details. It's awesome to see someone who is truly passionate about detailing and all the other restorative processes. There are a couple detailing/correction shops in my area and it's crazy how lacking they are in quality when it comes to this work. Truly a work of art.
Removing all the branding stickers instantly upped the eyeball appeal. The AMMO on the calipers kind of gives a Chrysler Sebring /Bentley Continental GT kit vibe.
This is what you call meticulous cranked up to the max! It's different when it's your own personal car, esp your dream car. I know the feeling with my R8. I treat it with the utmost care despite taking it thru its paces in the twisties or on track. Your R8 looks immaculate! 👌🏾
WoW! I really loved this episode! The thing about the metalwool and wirebrushing the underside was really cool, also the menthol coating and black rust spray on the bolts. The framepro on the black trim made it pop so well, and the deep rich carbon now looks amazing. Loved the stance and fittment of the wheels. The car really really pops now! Looks amazing!
Larry's crazy OCD attention to detail is why I keep watching his vids. I'm no perfectionist or professional detailer, but when I detail my car, I go beyond what most people usually do, almost to the same detail as what Larry does.
Just a little tip: if you use a torque wrench to tighten the wheel bolts to the correct torque instead of use the impact wrench it will be easier to loosen the bolt next time. 👌😉 After i started with that I never had an issue with getting the wheels off the car has been driven on salty winter roads. 👍
Absolutely incredible how good the car came out. Really shows how important it is to take care of little corrosion spots and defects before it becomes a bigger problem.
16:13 - That Hardinge machine? My grandfather founded that company. Wow. Never saw one of their machines before! Thanks for the video. You treat your cars right!
When Larry wanted to do a winter cleaning and turned out a semi restoration job. I only dust off my summer tires and wash my car with dish soap and call it a day 💀 love it
A tip I learned from Auto Fanatic- soak any removable bolts in evapo-rust (for instance, the ones you removed from the under tray) for that extra touch
Watching this video makes me miss spray painting. I used to do the same technique and check over my work like this guy. Great work as always from this bodyshop.
Always loved the r8 it is one of the best looking cars, I would have to choose between this and 911 and it would be a sophies choice 😃 so Larry you have a great taste 👌🏼🙂
I still remember the video when you bought this r8, amazing work as always, recently got vredestein tyres on my 2011 audi a8L d4 love the performance 💯
curious to hear your thoughts on undercoating. as someone that lives in the rust belt, products like Surface Shield and Woolwax are invaluable. can save years of life on a daily driven car getting zero rust on it.
Have you ever tried the Bill Hammer anti Corrosion products, like Hydrate 80, Atom-Mac, Electrox, and Deox Gel? They are a bit more expensive that rust fix but I also drive a daily up in the north east as you do, and easily get 3-4 years of rust protection with these products. They are all extremely easy to use and will actually cover rusted areas and prevent further rusting. Like Ive said Ive had great success with them
Wow I didn’t realize it spell checked me afterwards but for all those who don’t know what I’m talking about the company name is Bilt Hamber not bill hammer.
the r8 is a masterpiece of a car, i love the whole design and the really "bad" look of the front lights! it's basically a dream car for me, and after the detail she looks so amazing and shiny 100/10.
Those guys at the shop are so incredibly skilled in paint and repair. I see so many videos of similar fixes, but haven’t seen anyone go as crazy as this. And for it to come out looking like nothing even happened is even more impressive. These guys are the real deal, they’ve got the forbidden knowledge 😂
It hits differently when it's your own car 😊 Amazing work this my kind of OCD car cleaning. I love doing this once a year to my car and just spend a few days relaxing enjoying some deep Detailing.
Looks great. So weird to those of us in CA, that we don't have to worry about winter season destroying metal in our cars. A lot easier to keep them clean. It is inspiring to see your videos. I think I need to detail my A7 now :) .
Nice work, Larry! I've been using the Vredestein snows on my F-Type SVR - I'm practically plowing snow with my front splitter. Those tires are highly recommended if you drive the R8 in deep snow. Now I just need to pull my under tray to see if I have rust...😵
I had Chris at lathewerks do a shifter for my 987S and its an absolute work of art. Worth every penny and well worth the wait for it to be handmade. One of the best in biz.
Hey Larry, I don’t think you will see this but, I work in the PPF Industry and I wanted to let you know that when pulling off the film instead of pulling the film in a downwards motion, stand behind the edge you start pulling at and pull up a little the towards you, it’s forces the glue to stretch with the film and off the paint, makes it 10 times easier. ALSO thanks for the tip with the hot water and microfibers going to use that on Monday 🤙🤙 The R8 looks amazing btw
R8 is such a nicely designed car. Surely one of the best looking Audi. 3:00 I've been told to not nerer use any steel brush on aluminium. Only stainless steel or brass. For corrosion reasons, such as your hood.

Yeah idk about garage queens, R8s are technically "entry level" super cars, alongside cars like the Lamborghini Gallardo or zo6 'vette.

Yes, on daily driven vehicles still a viable option for sure with fluid film being relatively inexpensive for a DIY’er.
