Ooohh I've actually played the demo I belive for your game? It was really fun tbh I had a blast which wasn't what I was expecting from just downloading a random demo the customisation elements where a nice touch too I think the only real suggestion would be a way of making the clones if I remember right? Better in melee combat like an armour boost with a Melee weapon equipped or just more damage or even a retreat feature when on low health I think that's the only thing that was in any was not great from me playing so well done for crafting such a great game
Hey your game is looking great! Just don’t forget players need to manage all your systems. Good default hotkeys that blend seemlessly with your gameplay could be the difference between a player staying or leaving. Making sure your have fully customizable hotkeys and different profiles as well as separate hotkeys groups for each faction (think sc2) is crucial. The difference between playing sc2 with my custom setup and without is night and day. Also in skeptical about the XP towers and random creeps guarding them. Obviously I’d need to play your game first but they don’t feel like natural extensions like having your tech tl resources collected out on the map (a simple artful change which is already paying dividends from the games I’ve seen). Good luck on your journey! The new galactic mode looks really cool like something I’d play alot of!

The premise and graphics. I dunno they really piqued my interest. I wish more people would go back to old school graphics. AoE2 DE and BW remastered are two of the best looking RTS games out right now. Nailing an old school look can net a game which is infinitely easier to read thanks to the contrast between textures and units (something which as gorgeous as Dust Front looks maybe an issue). Like it’s impossible not to understand immediately what’s going on in a game of brood war or aoe2!

This channel has been THE best channel I've found on this site. I never knew there was somebody who was so eager to cover the upcoming RTS titles and a genuine thank you for mentioning about the sales, especially with Army Men RTS (a personal favorite of mine). You really do wonders covering the various games, showing off teases and best of all including discounts and sales to intriguing titles of game that still are noteworthy of attention. PS - I would REALLY recommend bringing attention towards ATTACK ON TOYS. Its the old-school Army Men game but you are able to build bases, tanks, infantry and even jump into various vehicles to attack the enemy forces. There is a TON of mod support and even other enemy factions and even robots you can build as well. I could go on about it more, but what I love the most about it is they're still adding to the game AND its incredibly cheap to pick-up. I cannot recommend it enough as both of a throwback, but a genuinely fun and wild game that works so smoothly.
Hello my friend and thank you from the bottom of my heart for such a nice comment and feedback. I am supper happy to see more gamers like you follow my channel and enjoy my videos. I am also happy to know the inclusion of sales in these videos turned out to be a good idea. I think one other person also mentioned a similar game called Toy Soldiers. So while I remembered Army Men now I know of three similar games thanks to my fellow RTS fans! I am glad to have so many folks who enjoy these games and carry happy memories of them on my channel.
Great video, thanks! Man, I hope DORF change the cameo pictures in their build menu - everything looks the same, and nothing looks like a building xD .
Nice list, already got 9-Bit Armies, love the lego artstyle of both 8 and 9-bit games, Dust Front got the most unique artstyle, looking foward to it, and for Tempest Rising too, but what I'm waiting most for is ZeroSpace

"Perimeter" and "Perimeter: Emperor's Testament". Played them both when i was a kid. Those 2 games have a kind of unique approach towards the RTS genre. You are in control of a dimension jumping city, trying to escape something called the "scourge" and find a way back to the original Earth. Scourge follows your city everywhere it goes. The 2 main systems at work are terraforming and "nanomorphing" aka making a large unit by merging together many smaller units, all of which are consisting of nanobots. The terraforming comes into play when you are trying to make energy and use the "perimeter" shield system. The ground needs to be perfect to make full use of the energy generation and the make sure the shield is at full size. For 0.79EUR, it's worth a try in my opinion.
Hi and thx for sharing your memory of it. Mine is definitely not that good. I don't think I was able to get far back then in it, and only tried a bit years later. Good to see such RTS fans like yourself in my comment section! BTW which of these newer games looks good to you?

Thanks for keeping us grognards in the loop! Also, you're doing good work, bringing attention to little projects that may find proper funding by increased public interest. I'm a bit sad, that Petroglyph lost the balls to go big and seem like they're going with the safe options lately. Universe at war was one of the more interesting titles I've played and it would deserve another try at its interesting gameplay ideas.

@@perafilozof Truth be told, I'm in a bit of a pout right now. I feel betrayed by Homeworld 3. So far, I've been jumping between the ol' faithful of League of Legends, Helldivers 2 and co-operative play with a buddy in Total Warhammer 3. I did pick up Songs of Syx again recently. What about you? Aside from all the upcoming demos.
I was less and less interested in HW3 after each of its demos as I saw where it was going. So I am just happy we got 3 good games and 1 remaster out of it. There was also the mobile one they shut down, and there is like a VR one too. Besides Halo Wars 😐 'Age of Mythology Retold' seems to be the ONLY PC RTS that has full controller support. *Hand held* Gaming PCs are growing in popularity and maybe come the major way many people play games. PC RTS needs to adapt it. It's not circa 1997 anymore.

Heroes of Annihilated Empires is surprisingly good. Though I didn't like the Hero gameplay too much in the campaign, I eventually switched to the RTS mode in Skirmish mode and that was exactly right for me. In terms of scale it's essentially a basic RTS with higher numbers of units plus some interesting quirks. The factions are well balanced and have enough interesting differences, though two of the factions are more developed than the other two. Edit: Perimeter is another good recommendation. The campaign can be hard at times and doesn't always explain features well, but the story is interesting, the soundtrack good, the scenarioes often have to be approached in new ways and the limited army supply also forces creative solutions as some units take way more supply than others.
Hi! I am glad to see another old school player here! I agree with your descriptions. I too first found the campaign in HoAE too hard and the skirmish just right. Perimeter was so strange, but in a good way. Have you found anything similar to play over the years? Also, you can see more new and upcoming games on my playlist here: ruclips.net/p/PLRYGjguAn0CFpLi_MlTb6PIgLkXQM632Y
@@perafilozof Similar to Perimeter? Well, I guess Creeper World 3/4 are kind of similar. "Maelstrom - The Battle for Earth begins" is by the developer of Perimeter, but quite different. Pathfinding and AI aren't good, but it has a lot of physics stuff going on.
There's so much RTS to play but there's so little time, so I decided from this list of RTS, I'll get Tempest Rising and D.O.R.F Sins II and BAR I already played and I'm having fun with it so far.
I wonder how many RTS fans are FPS fans. I am an RTS fan who is not FPS fan, my brother is a FPS fan and is not a RTS fan. I suspect the platform does play a role. 15:44 for several RTS games I love making enormous armies so that it slows my computer however the strategy does become 'traffic cop'.
There are many, and could be more if they only wanted to spend a bit more time getting to know these games. Not as easy to pick up as FPS. Thank you for the comment!
If you want footage for featuring Front Edge in future videos, they actually have a youtube dev channel of sorts, it's called CatsWhoPlay Official, and the russian title of the game, which will net you plenty of gameplay and dev footage, is "Передний край"

@@perafilozof Thank you for the video and good news! It's just impossible to pick just one. So here are a few to rekindle the flames of my enthusiasm and curiosity haha. 1. One of my favorite games from 20 years ago, with a story I've been wanting to replay for a while now, is Age of Mythology Retold. 2. Very happy for the developers of BAR. It's just impossible to stop playing this game. Beautiful legacy of Total Annihilation and SupCom. 3. The most anticipated is the DORF. Those great C&C and RA vibes. 4. The unexpected surprise is Lessaria. Thanks for sharing! I like Majesty a lot. 5. Mod support for Sins of Solar Empire 2. Star Wars WHEN?! hahaha. The mod for the first part turned out great. 6. Best sale suggestion - Cossacks franchise. Too bad I have it all both on Steam and GOG haha. Not to mention CDs on my shelf! P.S. From what I hear, the Front Edge according to Cats Who Play is a free testbed for a future major project. Fingers crossed that it works out for them. They have a very nice approach to the realtime tactic genre.
@@perafilozof Here are their main claims about Front Edge: A real-time strategy game in a modern setting with a high degree of realism. - The game gives players the opportunity to fight each other (in 1vs1, 2vs1 and 2vs2 modes), or in Skirmish mode with a computer opponent. - Initially two armies are available in the game, these are RF and the US, in the future it is possible to add other armies. - The battle on the maps is for key points, the task of players at the end of the match time to control more key points on the map. In case of capturing all points by one of the players (one of the teams) the match ends prematurely. - Players can call for reinforcements during the game using Team Points (CP) accumulated over time. - Initially, players have access to standard sets of vehicles and infantry, but in the future players can get unique squads and vehicles that can move from battle to battle, gaining experience and being able to install and use various improvements and tactics. - The game will initially contain only the basic gameplay of general military combat, which will be further actively developed with the addition of new mechanisms actively appearing now in real life (e.g. copters that can drop stuff, FРV drones, etc.). - The game is considered as a basic platform that will be further developed with the addition of mechanics, new types of equipment, battle tactics, maps. - It is planned to be a completely open process of development/development of the game, with maximum involvement of players and sympathizers. - In the future, the game can serve as a base for creating single-player campaigns on various current and anticipated conflicts. At the moment the game can be downloaded from the Russian version of the Cats Who Play website for free www.catswhoplay.com/new/index.php/ru/igry/front-edge

I still hope Dark Reign and Submarine Titans will find someone who will agree to remaster them. (happy birthday to your son !)
@@perafilozof Right on ! Misfires is exactly what 2024 feels like until now. I was surprised by Age of Mythology Retold (as I was in the beta) and the change are really fixing most issues I had with the original. Tempest Rising is really the most anticipated one. (along with a few other but Tempest Rising is probably the most popular among them all)
You absolutely need to play Gates of Hell, there's really nothing else like it (besides the men of war games, which gates of hell is basically a spiritual successor to.) Some of the most cinematic gameplay you could ever imagine, it's really hard to describe to someone who hasn't played it. Every gunshot, every explosion, every model looks, sounds and feels real.

Age of Mythology is a classic. I just wish the new one would expand on the Hero system. In the first game, you could buy a Fighter, Thief, Cleric and Mage, but the kind of just roamed around the map, and you had to actually put a request into the Adventurers Guild to get them to come save your city from being under siege. Very realistic, I just wish you could create your own Party, to explore dungeouns while you are waiting on research and money for building up your forces.

Thanks for covering TFC: The Fertile Crescent! We are really excited that we were able to get the game to 1.0.
Thank you for putting so much work into it!

Hello and thank you for the full reply. That info about Front Edge is priceless!
@@perafilozof Here are their main claims about Front Edge:
A real-time strategy game in a modern setting with a high degree of realism.
At the moment the game can be downloaded from the Russian version of the Cats Who Play website for free
www.catswhoplay.com/new/index.php/ru/igry/front-edge

@@perafilozof Right on ! Misfires is exactly what 2024 feels like until now.

Beyond All Reason might be the best RTS at the moment!
i can't disagree with you much. Except it also needs a story and Singleplayer
Defender Bros looks a bit like Factorio considering you have to use your character to place those turrets.
Diplomacy is not an option looks good also, a bit like Total war, hopefully it won't won't be too sandboxy.
I will defo try D.O.R.F. for its C&C looks.
Hello and thank you kindly for sharing your impressions about these games. Diplomacy is not an option has a lot of game modes, including a campaign now, so you will find something you like. BTW you can learn about more such games in my previous videos which are on this playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLRYGjguAn0CETNi54IC0YsVNFtTdd6Ccc
All these games look better than Stormgate, without the 40 million in funding 😂😂.
Ouch! But thank you for sharing your impression of them. Which ones did you like the most?
Man that’s tough lol there’s a lot of interesting stuff here. Liquidstion caught my eye. So did dust front, DORF, and I’m curious how zerospace will end up!
But that game where manage a medieval fantasy city and hire heroes (the first one not the second) actually tickles my fancy it’s not something I’d have ever looked for or even tried without your video!
Then there’s the 4x + homeworld like one with 1 dev. It already looks cool as hell!
Hi and thx for the comment! I am going to show much such games in my video on Saturday! See you there!
Honorable mention: MENACE!! Very cool looking game!!
It is, and the only reason it is not on this list is because it is turn based. But I will make a separate list for such games! Any of these you liked?
@@perafilozof I am very excited to scope out Dust!
Thx for the reply
DORF ❤ Dust Front ❤ Dying Breed - my picks!

great list here. i'm a huge fan of early access / beta games. who cares if the games have bugs, you are a part of the development of a vision.
Thank you my fellow RTS fan! I am glad to hear that. Exactly my thoughts on the topic. You can see more of my videos like this one here on this playlist : ruclips.net/p/PLRYGjguAn0CETNi54IC0YsVNFtTdd6Ccc
Best soundtrack used in the background, 200 meters by Frank Klepacki!

@@perafilozof np, thank you for making good content
Hi, FYI Front Mission is available to play by downloading free version from game official web, skirmish and multiplayer now is available to playing.
Hello and thank you for that info. Indeed, it is something I have been told in a few other comments as well. The language barrier is the only problem.
@@perafilozof sorry, didn't check the comments first =(
but I checked the game, there is the English language as well, but need to download it first from Ru lang web page version if you are interested =/
But I did download and start, and it had only Russian? How in the world to I switch the in game language to English?
Age of Mythology is a classic. I just wish the new one would expand on the Hero system. In the first game, you could buy a Fighter, Thief, Cleric and Mage, but the kind of just roamed around the map, and you had to actually put a request into the Adventurers Guild to get them to come save your city from being under siege. Very realistic, I just wish you could create your own Party, to explore dungeouns while you are waiting on research and money for building up your forces.
I think you meant to write Majesty? And yes, I too would love to see them expand on all of these gameplay aspects. BTW The sequel, Majesty 2, had parties of heroes.
You're absolutely not talking about Age of Mythology.
thank the algo, i need new rts stuffs
