Even by Madden standards in the modern day, their screw up by corrupting the files of 60% of online leagues -- probably a much higher percentage of active online leaks that have been used in the last month or so -- is really beyond the pale. Almost worth a class action lawsuit.

I'm just shocked that there actually was a DS game for the Madden series. Essentially, what you are playing here is, at the minimum, an upgraded version of Madden 2001 for the N64. Basically, this is a copy of the 2008 Madden release with N64 graphics running smoother than it could ever run on the N64. And yet, it still has more features than what we have today
I remember buying this game when it was new, and I enjoyed every second I played that game. Crazy to think a handheld game from 15 years ago has more depth and features than the console games today. It is just jarring to think about.
Madden 08 and 09 were almost identical, but were SO much fun. I remember being SO happy when I got Madden 09 for Christmas for DS after playing the absolute hell out of Madden 08. It's pretty easy to cheese, even for a kid, but it was such a fun game. The disappointment when I bought Madden 19 for the PC was palpable... So many features that weren't even in the DS games from 11 years prior.
I think there was a PS Vita version of Madden 13, that had franchise mode and superstar mode, though i'm not sure how exactly deep it was, it may be worth checking out.

Man, I spent soooooooo many hours in Madden 08 and 09 for the DS as a kid. I wasn't ever spoiled with the newest consoles or anything, but I played the hell out of these games! (Same with WWE Smackdown vs Raw on the DS)
It's crazy that Madden 23 doesn't have some features that were in Madden titles from the 2000s. And I think the maximum cartridge size on the DS was 128 MB, which wasn't much even compared to the PS2, which I think could go to like 4.7 GB or something, so the fact they could fit all this in the DS version is crazy

I can understand not having create-a-play in Madden for the offense, because people will find a way to bastardize the system and make cheat plays. But Madden should have create-a-play for the defense. I dont see a way that you could make a defensive scheme that would be considered cheating. Madden doesn’t have a sideline protection play for the defense in late game, when I’m trying to keep my opponent from getting out of bounds on a deep pass. I should be able to make that play for my defense.
This game epitomizes why EA has no excuse for their current Madden installments. EA knows exactly how to create a memorable NFL football game, but chooses not to. There is no excuse for current Madden games to be this pitiful when a Madden for the DS is miles ahead.
I miss in Madden when you could make your own player and have them go through the combine and get drafted I miss when you could choose any position even the kicker to be. Madden needs to bring this back and let us fans and players have what should've never been taken out of the game imo.
I loved those older mobile versions on madden and NCAA. Especially NCAA. Even though the graphics were bad it was such a fun game to play. But those went away because EA thought it was much more profitable to have a game with in game purchases

I have a rom cart with all the DS Maddens on it. Each year they tried to do something new with it. My favorite is 07 where you can either draw audibles or yell them into the mic.
I spent so so many hours on madden 07 for my DS. I was having nostalgia of those days and I bought madden 20 for my Xbox back in 2019 and damn was I ever disappointed. Idk if I’ll ever buy another one

Its the only part of the game that I hate. 3DS gameplay is pretty good but shocking to me is there’s NO stats, no camera options. Its the most bare bones version of Madden but I found it plays really good. But the lack of stats is just EA stupidity.

I know it’s a different game but it’s the same company. I played some old maddens and old NHL games and realized just how good the NHL ones were in terms of graphics and gameplay. It’s actually incredible how advanced it was. Madden had the better features, you could play for hours on end and not get bored. These games were released 20 years ago Both series have much room for improvement and simply don’t improve at all. The only reason why they aren’t dead in because of ultimate team/online gameplay… these old games didn’t have ultimate team so they had to be more creative
You should try madden 13 on ps vita, it was the last madden game to come out on portable console. On one hand, it had load time issues and used madden 12’s gameplay engine instead of 13’s better engine used on ps3+360. Plus there was no create a team. However, it had a franchise mode very similar to madden 12’s with the same layout and even features.

Madden 06 on the ds is the best. The franchise mode is almost the same as 09, and while the graphics aren’t as good, the gameplay is way better. In 09, you basically have to dump it off to the RB most of the time if you want an above 50 percent completion percentage, but in 06 passing is way better
Before I had the 360 this was the only option to get Madden 09 on sure I had it on the Wii but I did want to experience it on the DS so then I got it. He was right about one thing; the controls was a janky but somewhat to pull through. And looking at this video somehow inspired me to return to 09 on the DS. I might play some other Madden games but I’ll try to play that one too as well
I've been wondering about a 3DS or a Nintendo DS Madden Football game. THIS is it! I have Madden 13 for the Playstation Vita, I also have Madden 10 I think for the Playstation PSP. Those are also REALLY good Madden versions. Thanks for the heads up on this game. I really wish there were more Sports titles for the Nintendo DS or the 3DS. One I'd love is 🏒NHL🥅🥅Hockey🏒, ⚾️MLB🧢🧢Baseball⚾️, or NBA🏀Basketball🏀. I had a friend in middle school who played the 3DS game. It was weird how the screen changed angles depending on how you looked at it.

I would say Madden 11 on 360. Madden 08 and 09 on the wii was undeniably fun though. Halfback toss with LT in Madden 08 was unstoppable

This was my first DS game! Playing this when i was a kid got me into football and all it's intricacies.
Supposedly this was planned for the Gamecube as well but cancelled due to its discontinuation.

Madden 06 on the ds is the best. The franchise mode is almost the same as 09, and while the graphics aren’t as good, the gameplay is way better. In 09, you basically have to dump it off to the RB most of the time if you want an above 50 percent completion percentage, but in 06 passing is way better
i still own Madden Football for the 3ds, i still go back to it to this day, one thing i didnt like about it was you couldnt trade between teams

The 3DS Madden game is actually not part of the main series. It's called "Madden NFL Football" and came out in March 2011

Before I had the 360 this was the only option to get Madden 09 on sure I had it on the Wii but I did want to experience it on the DS so then I got it. He was right about one thing; the controls was a janky but somewhat to pull through. And looking at this video somehow inspired me to return to 09 on the DS. I might play some other Madden games but I’ll try to play that one too as well

I've been wondering about a 3DS or a Nintendo DS Madden Football game. THIS is it! I have Madden 13 for the Playstation Vita, I also have Madden 10 I think for the Playstation PSP. Those are also REALLY good Madden versions. Thanks for the heads up on this game. I really wish there were more Sports titles for the Nintendo DS or the 3DS. One I'd love is 🏒NHL🥅🥅Hockey🏒, ⚾️MLB🧢🧢Baseball⚾️, or NBA🏀Basketball🏀. But that's why I was more of a Sega Genesis fan back during the infamous console "wars" 🙄 when Sega's sports titles dominated the consoles. There was Madden on the SNES but it was choppy and nowhere nearly as smooth as the Genesis games were. Oddly enough however since I owned both of the Consoles that both Sega and Nintendo made, I also bought multiple versions on both systems? Madden, NHL Hockey, and NBA Basketball. Not much baseball on the SNES of I remember correctly. But I loved sports games so?

I can understand why we don’t create a play image playing online and playing zone and some one makes a play that all his receivers gose inbetween all your zones because ai sucks this year in zone they don’t really react to receivers till there on top of them
