I really want to learn the Croatian language, although it's a bit hard, quite confusing too but I'm willing to learn it slowly. I'm from the Philippines by the way and I'm so thankful that I found your channel, i now know how to count numbers and pronounce them correctly
Hvala pumo! My family is Croatian but lives in North America! I always use as much vocabulary to speak to them but want to understand the grammar! I am making notes for every video! You got a new sub! :)
This is a very good video! My only suggestion: All the Croatian words and sentences that you used as examples: you could write them in the video description as a summary.
Note that the word "gender" comes from grammar, replacing "sex". Also, note that Croatian can be also described as having 4 genders. But gender doesn't "affect" nouns. Rather, nouns *have* gender, and it's visible by the form of other words. That's actually how gender is defined. There are nouns which end on vowels other than in -a, but are feminine nevertheless: mati, kći, misao. Also, there are -ost nouns which aren't feminine: gost, most, oprost etc
Bok, Lulu! I have started doing plurals after the Genitive, I think... Sorry for missing them in earlier cases. I wanted to keep the videos as simple as possible, but I really should I included the plurals in all of them.
@@learncroatian9135 Yeah relative sentences in all cases. Then I have always some problems with conjugation of verbs. If you can make a video on it. How to conjugate verbs in the correct way?
@@learncroatian9135 okay, let's say in English. This is the pen which i was looking for. Which denotes pen. One more example i like that book which i saw in the Library. :-) ( which represents book)
I have been working from the RUclips videos and the website also. On the website there is the information about declension. I am reading E-declension (feminine nouns ending with -a). It says in the table underneath: singular, woman, masculine. I am wondering, what is the masculine referring to? I hope I make sense. I have confused myself a lot while writing notes. Hvala :)
Hello, Sorry for my very late reply. Along with this video I was studying using the Learn Croatian website/blog. The August 1, 2020 post, Quickly Learn the Different Grammatical Cases...under the section 'E-declension (feminine nouns ending with -a)' there is a small table showing the nominative, genitive etc. The singular says: woman, masculine. I was wondering what the masculine was referring to? Sorry. It is tricky to explain through the comments.
This is probably a question you are getting more and more these days... but... How does one navigate the complex world of "Transgender pronouns" when the language is structured in this way?
Bok
I am very glad that l just found your precious channel. I have been learning a lot because of you.
HVALA TI. You're the best UČTELJICA EVER

This is a great advice! Thank you! I'll incorporate it in the future videos.

Sorry, I make these mistakes beacuse English is not my native language :)

Hvala!

All this sounds so familiar.
I picked up what I know about the language by observation in the country and always thought milk was mljieka (female). No one ever corrected me.
Ah, sometimes people are reluctant to correct foreign speakers. But, now you know! 😁
Until this point the language seems easy. Let's see "my scare grammar part" in the next videos. The cases booo!
Hahahahhaha! Hang in there!
Thank you for the explanation, it was very useful for me because i can relate it to my native Russian and Ukrainian languagea and its quite similar)
Please, update about verb forms in details.
Thank you for your feedback! I'll be doing a completely different video about all the verb forms soon :)
How about the 3 ways to say pharmacy.....that still throws me for a loop.
