Zdravo! Could you possibly explain the phrase "ide mi se kući"? I know that's another way you could say "I want to go home". I use that one all the time. Would that also use dative? I ask because of "mi" which is the dative form of first person singular "ja" or "I".
Zdravo! This is an excellent question! Ide mi se kući is indeed a very common phrase. What might be confusing is the verb "ide mi se". It's the same type of verb as you would say "sviđaš mi se", or "nedostaješ mi". The literal trabslation of "ide mi se" would be something like "to me it is pleasurable to go". And as soon as you have that "to me", you need to use the dative "mi" as you have noticed. Such a great phrase, often used 😂
I think I didn't get it throughout the video, but how do I transform words like tata and gazda, which are masculine but end with an a, from the nominative to the dative? Do they follow the feminine words in -a or not? Thank you

I understand that dative is also used to express feelings and emotions. But why didn't the name Ana change to Ani for the word tired? Please help 😣
In the first case: Ani je dosadno, there is stress on emotion (how she feels). In the second sentence: Ana je umorna, we are stressing the state (how she is). It's hard to explain 'cause words are very abstract to describe real meaning. Maybe this is something that only slavs will understand...
I have a question. When i talk with my friend from Zagreb the coversations are going pretty well. I always know what he is meaning. My casses are going quite oke. I just need longer practise. That no problem to me. But i have 1 problem. i always make mistakes with’ moj and svoj’ don’t know when to use svoj. I always use moj/moje/moja but don’t know when i must just svoj, svoja, svoje. Napokon i opet bio sam sa mojim prijateljima iz Hrvatske. Bio je super ljeto u mojoj mišljenji! Učio sam previše hrvatski ovog ljeto. Znam da još uvijek većinom nije gramatički točno kad pišem ili pričam ali mislim da je predobro jer, Počeo sam prošle godine nakon mog ljeto! Hvala za sve koje me naučila u vašoj video’s! Mislim da možete vidjet :) Ali nikad neću zaustaviti učit jer baš se osjećam bolji svaki dan kad probudim. Svaki dan učim nove stvari. i na ovom trenutku mislim da sam predugo sa učenje. Jer počeo sam prošle godine i osjećam se već ko dečko iz Hrvatske :) i to je super stvar. Mislim da je super isto jer nizozemski i hrvatski su baš razlik u svemu. Goood video! Just one question tho. My Serbian friend told me that i should say "Ja idem na more" and not "Ja idem na moru" with a "u" at the end. But in this video you described to us that you put a "u" in to neuter nouns that ends with "e" if you want to express yourself from a dative case. I'm confused now!😅
Hi! Great question! So, this is the trouble with Dative/Accusative. Your friend is a 100 percent correct, you would say - Idem na more. But, this preposition "na" can be used for both Dative and Accusative. If it's an active verb - moving towards something (in this case going to the sea), than use Accustaive. If you're saying your at some place, you are revealing your location, use Dative/Locative (these two have the same form). So, idem na more - I'm going to the sea. Ja sam na moru - I'm at the sea.

Would friend be spelled differently if it was a female friend? 3:39 I want to go to a friend- does not make sense. Would everything get conjugated differently if it was a female friend? 3:54 There are several, actually there are several- this is in fact confusing. Do you mean many the second time? 5:20 I think you mean theater when you say "I am going into a movie". 6:06 Again, I'm going to a friend" does not make a lot of sense. 8:50 (You have taught me that volim is love, not the word for "like"- thank you. 9:05 (You made me research and I found the word apelirate which specifically means appeals to- I never heard this word before, thank you.) 9:49 Would that translate more like "You are in the right"?. 13:35 The chart should read end IN a consonant, not ON a consonant. 15:14 I believe "parenthesis" should be said instead of brackets. Thank you for your feedback! To answer your question - prijatelj is friend (male), but a female friend would be prijateljica and yes, it would be conjugated differently. However, you don't conjugate nouns, the changing of nouns through cases is called declension. And when I saw things in English that don't make sense, such as - I want to go to a friend - I'm translating literarly so that you can get the idea of the logic of this language. @@JLizard some of those things I can't fix because skme of them are mistakes of my English as the second language. I am not a native English speaker and I often make mistakes that you've pointed out (sometimes I translate verbatim deliberately, sometimes by mistake), but unfortunately it's hard for me to fix them all because sometimes I'm not aware they are mistakes. Maybe you can disregard some of them them knowing I'm doing my best in the language I wasn't born into and focus on the main things that the lesson is trying to portray?
