      Redsorgum Thanks. Yes I think day will do the job. But day will find new owners when I sell them. Just going to make some sheaths for them in time.

    Good looking knife with a decent sheath. Scandi grinds can be made extremely sharp, but for me, they want to bite in too deep. My lack of experience with scandi grinds is why I have trouble I am sure. Thanks for showing it to us!

    I came across this exact knife at a local thrift store brand new still in the box for $29 USD. I searched for reviews on this knife and ended up here at this video which I found very informative thank you. The only real complaint I had about this knife and it's no big deal is the shiny seatbelt material they used for the sheath, I took it off and replaced it with a solid kydex belt loop other than that I like the overall knife and sheath quite a bit it feels really solid when using it. Thanks again for your review.

    Maybe the tang of these knives is "thinly" skeletonized that's why the one you saw snapped. I don't know I'm just guessing. I personally would never baton with a knife, I'd rather have a small camp axe for that task.

    Really good video and review!!! 💪🏻😉 I have him too. But what do you say to hold? Handle, I think. It's hurt a little after a few minutes..

    smart man but according to a Master Craftsman that made my few custom knives told me even if it is full solid tang and temper and heat treat is done perfect it is a wise rule to only baton the diameter of wood no more than 1/3 the length of the blade (the cutting edge) to maintain the life of the structure of the whole knife and to enjoy battening without getting tired if you need to baton too many pieces of wood also specially if a knife has costed very high price to manufacture and not because it can break but just so you keep the structure of the knife working forever

    You knife is sharpen "scandi on zero " or with micro bevel? What angle?

    • @DGOutdoorLife
      @DGOutdoorLife  3 года назад

      If I look very very close ther is a micro bevel but you can't see it. The angel i think is around 17 degrees. You can call this knife for a real scandi with 0 degrees Micro bevel. So in my opinion a real flat scando to 0.

    To be fair if you want a chopper the holy trinity is whats needed a gransfors small forest and laplander to match this would be amazing

    • @DGOutdoorLife
      @DGOutdoorLife  6 лет назад

      So true. I do have a small gransforsbruks hachette and bigger knives for chopping. Just joking of using this knife for chopping 😉

      @@DGOutdoorLife here is the reason I subs. I dont get why people baton a cheap knife like a mora when with the overal saving they can get a laplander, gransfors or similar, and reasonable knife. This review has sold the real steel bushcraft as. I have carbon knives and they are high maintaince

    I hate batoning I have ordered this an axe say gransfors small forest and laplander with this would help people survive

    • @DGOutdoorLife
      @DGOutdoorLife  6 лет назад

      In my book that fine. Every one has ther vay of doing things and learn from it. I do enjoy batoning smaller pieces. And don't carry an axe every time I'm out. 😉
