I just made a very long news report feeling like I did something special then I go down 3 comments and my entire week is ruined I did say it differently and a lot more so just 2 days ruin I should still be proud of my work
*raises flame shields* I've got most of the songs Mystery Skulls has released on Twitter, and I can't honestly say there's a single one I don't like. I'm usually pretty quick to dislike most electronica, but Mystery Skulls was probably the first electronica band that I liked. Then the music videos came out, and I honestly prefer the "unfinished" versions. Songs like Ghost and Paralyzed got a ton of reverb and bass on them now that it gives me a headache. The original version of Ghost is easily my favorite Mystery Skulls song, but I can't say I care for the new version on the music video. I really don't want to be "that guy" and be all "U GUISE WER BETTER B4 U WERE POPULER", because I'd honestly have to punch myself. I just prefer the original versions of Ghost and Paralyzed without the heavy mixing. I suppose that's the main reason I dislike dubstep, because that buzz-y reverb and the heavy bass is what defines it. I can't listen to any of Skrillex' music without getting a headache, but I wouldn't call him a bad musician. It's just not my kind of music. I'm sure tons of other people will LOVE the new album, and I'm glad Mystery Skulls is finally getting noticed, too. It just seems a bit too bass-heavy for my liking. It's not you, it's me. Though I'd -gladly- buy the album if there was some sort of program I could run my copy through to lessen the bass and reverb. Anyone know of anything like that?
Fair criticism. The style definitely seems different since the sounds are a lot stronger and more processed. I still like it though, maybe not as much as the demo versions but still something I'd buy and listen to, and it might grow on my more. As for editing it, I'm not sure if Audacity would do it but it's free.
I'm with you. It really has nothing to do with popularity, the demos just sounded really raw in a way I loved. I think paralyzed got a treatment a lot worse than ghost however.
We can always hope for a "B-Sides and Rarities" album. I do like the song Together, and was sad to not see it on the album, unless it was retitled as Forever. The chorus is something like "baby, gonna be you and I forever". Looking at the track listing, I already have the demo versions of Every Note, Ghost, The Future, Paralyzed, and When I'm With You. I'm curious to what they sound like now.

I've got most of the songs Mystery Skulls has released on Twitter, and I can't honestly say there's a single one I don't like. I'm usually pretty quick to dislike most electronica, but Mystery Skulls was probably the first electronica band that I liked.
Then the music videos came out, and I honestly prefer the "unfinished" versions. Songs like Ghost and Paralyzed got a ton of reverb and bass on them now that it gives me a headache. The original version of Ghost is easily my favorite Mystery Skulls song, but I can't say I care for the new version on the music video.
I really don't want to be "that guy" and be all "U GUISE WER BETTER B4 U WERE POPULER", because I'd honestly have to punch myself. I just prefer the original versions of Ghost and Paralyzed without the heavy mixing. I suppose that's the main reason I dislike dubstep, because that buzz-y reverb and the heavy bass is what defines it. I can't listen to any of Skrillex' music without getting a headache, but I wouldn't call him a bad musician. It's just not my kind of music.
I'm sure tons of other people will LOVE the new album, and I'm glad Mystery Skulls is finally getting noticed, too. It just seems a bit too bass-heavy for my liking. It's not you, it's me.
Though I'd -gladly- buy the album if there was some sort of program I could run my copy through to lessen the bass and reverb. Anyone know of anything like that?
Fair criticism. The style definitely seems different since the sounds are a lot stronger and more processed. I still like it though, maybe not as much as the demo versions but still something I'd buy and listen to, and it might grow on my more. As for editing it, I'm not sure if Audacity would do it but it's free.
I'm with you. It really has nothing to do with popularity, the demos just sounded really raw in a way I loved. I think paralyzed got a treatment a lot worse than ghost however.
Though you have a good point, the vocal quality has gone way up (sound quality wise ofc, gotta love that voice)

We can always hope for a "B-Sides and Rarities" album. I do like the song Together, and was sad to not see it on the album, unless it was retitled as Forever. The chorus is something like "baby, gonna be you and I forever". Looking at the track listing, I already have the demo versions of Every Note, Ghost, The Future, Paralyzed, and When I'm With You. I'm curious to what they sound like now.
