Delta is a Greek symbol meaning change, that's often represented by a triangle The people of the city are terrified by the Delta, seemingly for no reason, and do everything they can to fight it back. But just like change itself, it can't be stopped. In the end the king realizes that you have to face and accept it. You can't fight change, and you shouldn't fear it. Never understood the metaphor until I listened today.

Suddely remembered this masterpiece Almost 10 years later, I've gone from little kid who likes electro music and drawing silly doodles to a 2D animation graduate with ideas for my own productions. something i find interesting is the strong use of circles on the people and culture if you will, 0:16 most of the city appears to have round or flat tops, nothing pointy, at 0:47 the military adviser has a circle on his hat 0:55 the walls have circles on them, while some might say that the kings crown has a triangle on it 1:38 shows it as oval, 1:41 the guards have round circle emblems on their chestplates and have round helmets, 1:48 is a good example. 1:53 you can see alot of the people wear circles, the only real sign of triangles besides the pyramid or some with round edges is the old man, the only one who was brave enough to go past the barrier and confront the triangle head on in a non-defensive way. my theory is that this is telling us to embrace change and to not fear it.

I feel like not enough people are talking about the old man, and how his courage inspired the king who, to me, seemed frustrated with the military commander's constant desire to deal with the situation via violence. But he did not know any other way to deal with the potential threat that was the triangle thus the fingers tapping on the throne. I believe the king almost felt shame seeing the brave citizen step forward and attempt the solution the King really wanted all along but under the stress of his position and commander saw right past it. I was a little sad when the King came forward and gently pushed the old man aside just because in a way I feel the old man deserved to be honored for his act of inspiration to the entire kingdom Edit: I would also like to add as beautiful as the King's standing up animation was, I'd also like to point out how incredible I think the animation was for the old man's face crossing the barrier, staying determined even with the barrier physically pushing his features back was such a great idea and so gorgeous

He respected the old man's initiative, and for it was willing to take his place in case this was truly dangerous. I´ve been hearing this song since I discovered it in november 2021. Since then, somehow the song always appeared in my recommendations every time something changed in my life - back in 2021, I was passing through my very first tragic love story and crying the deaths of both my dog and cat. I remember going like a pendulum of emotions, but as the days passed by and as I kept up with therappy sessions, I overcame my sadness and learned to deal with my fear to socialize. I think it's more him doing as a good king should do and standing up for his citizens. Far as he knew that alien could have just vaporized him where he stood, but he took the risk. The way he moved the gong dude to the side didn't look like it was out of greed or jealousy, but rather it looked like a "This is my duty to bear" kind of action.

Everyone ignored him until the king, using his apparent superhuman vision, finally took notice of what appeared to be fearlessness in this citizen. He seemed shocked to see the king, perhaps expecting him to be as hard-hearted as everyone else. He was wrong at first, but the king did what he thought would protect everyone, albeit reluctantly by listening to the general guy and sending in the army.
I think the monk’s moment is in the fact that in all of society he was the only one to know and live the truth. He was the one that lead the people to that truth, not the king. The people followed the king, but the king followed the monk. The monk ultimately lead them all to truth, even if he won’t be recognized for it. Honestly, he probably doesn’t care if he is or not. He’s used to rejection and isn’t in it for fame. It’s his own personal vocation, and he fulfilled that.
One thing I'd like to contribute to the discussion that the delta means change is that the symbol on the armor of the soldiers is that it is a circle cut in threes imprisoned by a square. If this is the heraldry of the society it shows that they place a strict idea of control. The circle being the perfect shape, the lines threw the circle create the rule of three and at the very least an idea of separating perfection. The square surrounding it all is a symbol of complete control with the fact it encompasses the the circle-- the idea of perfection, showing that this society believes in control.

something i find interesting is the strong use of circles on the people and culture if you will, 0:16 most of the city appears to have round or flat tops, nothing pointy, at 0:47 the military adviser has a circle on his hat 0:55 the walls have circles on them, while some might say that the kings crown has a triangle on it 1:38 shows it as oval, 1:41 the guards have round circle emblems on their chestplates and have round helmets, 1:48 is a good example. 1:53 you can see alot of the people wear circles, the only real sign of triangles besides the pyramid or some with round edges is the old man, the only one who was brave enough to go past the barrier and confront the triangle head on in a non-defensive way. my theory is that this is telling us to embrace change and to not fear it.

I feel like not enough people are talking about the old man, and how his courage inspired the king who, to me, seemed frustrated with the military commander's constant desire to deal with the situation via violence. But he did not know any other way to deal with the potential threat that was the triangle thus the fingers tapping on the throne. I believe the king almost felt shame seeing the brave citizen step forward and attempt the solution the King really wanted all along but under the stress of his position and commander saw right past it. I was a little sad when the King came forward and gently pushed the old man aside just because in a way I feel the old man deserved to be honored for his act of inspiration to the entire kingdom
Edit: I would also like to add as beautiful as the King's standing up animation was, I'd also like to point out how incredible I think the animation was for the old man's face crossing the barrier, staying determined even with the barrier physically pushing his features back was such a great idea and so gorgeous
I suspect that was show the King's willingness to take the consequences of this thing rather than allow the old man to possibly die or get otherwise affected by it.
He respected the old man's initiative, and for it was willing to take his place in case this was truly dangerous. I'm sure the old man would've been revered by the King afterwards, we just didn't get to see it

I´ve been hearing this song since I discovered it in november 2021. Since then, somehow the song always appeared in my recommendations every time something changed in my life - back in 2021, I was passing through my very first tragic love story and crying the deaths of both my dog and cat. I remember going like a pendulum of emotions, but as the days passed by and as I kept up with therappy sessions, I overcame my sadness and learned to deal with my fear to socialize. Now again, I´m in november but one year later, and I´m happpy to say that I have found the closure I was looking for, imagining this song as the one that comes along with the credits.
It´s amazing how music can help and impact in someone´s life!

I think it's more him doing as a good king should do and standing up for his citizens. Far as he knew that alien could have just vaporized him where he stood, but he took the risk.
The way he moved the gong dude to the side didn't look like it was out of greed or jealousy, but rather it looked like a "This is my duty to bear" kind of action.

Everyone ignored him until the king, using his apparent superhuman vision, finally took notice of what appeared to be fearlessness in this citizen. He seemed shocked to see the king, perhaps expecting him to be as hard-hearted as everyone else. He was wrong at first, but the king did what he thought would protect everyone, albeit reluctantly by listening to the general guy and sending in the army.

I think the monk’s moment is in the fact that in all of society he was the only one to know and live the truth. He was the one that lead the people to that truth, not the king. The people followed the king, but the king followed the monk. The monk ultimately lead them all to truth, even if he won’t be recognized for it.

One thing I'd like to contribute to the discussion that the delta means change is that the symbol on the armor of the soldiers is that it is a circle cut in threes imprisoned by a square. If this is the heraldry of the society it shows that they place a strict idea of control. The circle being the perfect shape, the lines threw the circle create the rule of three and at the very least an idea of separating perfection. The square surrounding it all is a symbol of complete control with the fact it encompasses the the circle-- the idea of perfection, showing that this society believes in control.

Heard something about the triangle representing the Greek symbol delta, associated with the concept of change. The military attacking is the futile attempt to fight change. It just happens. And of course, the ending, accepting change. Simple symbolism but the visuals make the message seems to be so much more.
I get the meaning! reading the comments people are saying it's about change and accepting it instead of fighting it. People have also noted there's only men in the city and the spaceship resembling a vajajay especially when it opens up. The lyrics "how manly licks till you get to the center of my EYE" referring to the Clitinski. So it's about dudes who do not want to go down on their ladies finally accepting it and giving it ago XD.
