I am from Manipur and I can vouch for the sporting culture . Every locality has a club which promotes and conducts sporting events. Every kid is encouraged to play.. the more they play the more champions you unearth
I originally belong to UP, but had been living in Manipur for around 20+ years...and one thing you can never take out of the Manipuris(meitei, kuki & different Naga tribes) is the love for Sports...Here you won't see kids with PS or watching cartoons on TV whole day...from a 4 year old kid to an old man, everyone love Football...each Leikai(a small village or community) have a sports club and they organise competitions all round the year...mostly during Holi, which is celebrated for a week here, you will see kids, youths, young girls,ladies, aged men, all participating in different types of sporting events ranging from sprint races, marathons, football tournament and many fun events...

Manipuri women are glorious, they are very honest and hard working. They are patriots, I have experience of working with lots of awesome Manipuri Nurses. While Kerala nurses are amazing too ,but now a days most ( not all)of them work to gain experience for overseas placement . But Manipuri works hard without such dreams. I know overall, Indian doesn’t respect the most sacred profession of nursing ( a country would be considered civilized when it starts respecting serving class in stead of ruling class).

It amazes me how students at school only get one period a week for sports and the teacher only takes students to sports ground at some occasions only otherwise they just stay in the classroom and tell us to study other subject. Even when you go out students which are athletic only gets attention by the teachers and not the students how want to be. Good at sports.

As someone from Manipur, I'm kinda happy and sad at the same time about this. We get recognized only when it is beneficial for Indians as a whole and totally get ignored and even discriminated against, as you can easily see in the past year and a half because of covid. I know these types of people are a small minority, but the loud minorities tend to be the most annoying and cause the most damage overall.

I have completed my four years of college life in Chandigarh, During that time almost every college football team in Chandigarh or near Chandigarh have a dominance of NE players specially Manipuri guys.. And I'm one of them..
I have been doing kumite since grade 3 and in 2011 I got the chance to play for my state. Though I lost in the semifinal round my opponent was from Manipur infact he and his brother won 1st and 2nd respectively in our weight category. True. There was even a system that every men should compulsorily serve as soldiers.
It amazes me how students at school only get one period a week for sports and the teacher only takes students to sports ground at some occasions only otherwise they just stay in the classroom and tell us to study other subject. Even when you go out students which are athletic only gets attention by the teachers and not the students how want to be. Good at sports.
Still the teaching quality is so bad 😆. The profession of teaching is seen as just a source of stable income instead of leading by example. Be it education or sports. That's the main problem

I am regular viewer of Deepanshu aka Nomadic Indian. He traveled Manipur. He also witnessed craze of children, young people in sports.
Manipur can and will produce world class badminton players in the future. We have lot of enthusiasm and with enough support we will produce the next Lin Dan.
About sporting culture : Many people don't know this but International polo was invented in Manipur.
Sporting is in our blood 💪even the manipuris living in assam has produced world class athletes. Proud to be a Manipuri ✊🇮🇳

As someone from Manipur, I'm kinda happy and sad at the same time about this. We get recognized only when it is beneficial for Indians as a whole and totally get ignored and even discriminated against, as you can easily see in the past year and a half because of covid. I know these types of people are a small minority, but the loud minorities tend to be the most annoying and cause the most damage overall.

I have been doing kumite since grade 3 and in 2011 I got the chance to play for my state. Though I lost in the semifinal round my opponent was from Manipur infact he and his brother won 1st and 2nd respectively in our weight category.
