- The plaintiff brings her son to court. She says her son dropped out of school when he was 16 years old and started drinking and acting out. He went to jail several times and ended up homeless. The plaintiff says her son moved back in with her to help him get back on his feet, but now she’s suing for rent. The defendant argues he’s clean and sober now and is working on getting his life back on track.

Well said
People blame parents for everything no matter how old they get. At some point you need to take responsibility for yourself
She shares a lot of responsibility she said he dropped out of school no she let him drop out of school.
I think it’s the father that should be more responsible for laying a foundation all though I know that’s easy to say since they divorced but you are right at some point as a grown up you need to take responsibility of your life some people take forever figuring that out also notice how he refers to his mother as his best friend that was a red flag immediate
@@tonymyers6238 So he can use that as an excuse for the rest of his life to continue to drink and put society at risk with driving under the influence?

This is what a great mom looks like, really care for her son and wants the best for him.
That's why she let him drop out at 16
I don’t know. She’s not trying to give him any credit. Even when everyone was clapping for his sobriety, she acted like “whatever.”

She seem like a good mother trying to help him out when he was homeless by letting him stay with her until he get on his feet, but he should pay his mother rent that's fair enough.

It’s sad that drugs and alcohol can take individuals down paths they can’t seem to find there ways out of.🙏🏽
alcohol is a gateway drug to suffering and hell...💔
@@mybexchange6330 Alcohol does that all by itself. IT IS THE DRUG if a heavy drinker or alcoholic never uses anything else.
The first problem is ,his mother being his best friend while he was growing up . He needed parenting during those critical times..🙄🤔😯 Once he became an adult it was a different experience he wasn't prepared for..
The best thing a parent can do for his/her child is to prepare them for the future.
Mom is definitely correct because my brother is a alcoholic and we can have a entire conversation and the next day he doesn’t remember not a thing we discussed. So I learned to not talk about important things when he is drunk. 🤷🏽♀️ wait until he is sober.
The defendant seems like a good guy and I hope he gets the help he needs and him and his mom can get past all the disagreements and negativity. 🥰🙏🏽
Same with my brother. Handsome fella, at least he's trying, push thru brother! ❤️
You guys are being nice Lmao. He is alright lol.
This is a perfect case for women who are raising boys. No matter what the reason. You cannot give a boy everything that he wants when he asks for it. There has to be some type of consequences for his actions, and when he does good then you reward him. But you just can't give him stuff just to pacify him. Because what happens is he turns into a man, that expects everyone to give him something, and then on top of that he won't know how go get it himself.
That advice goes for raising boys and girls
Where are all the millions of daddies that upped and left? Should be fined for life. Don't deserve the dirt on the coffin and they know it...wherever and whomever you are.

despite trauma i dont see how ppl excessively drink. the lot of alcohol tastes like transmission fluid
There’s definitely a weird taste to it! 😅

Yes I don’t know how people drink like that either. Maybe they become numb to it
I've seen my dad and eldest brother do that. I don't see how either. Just by seeing them do that, it definitely made me stay away from it.
It’s not the taste 👅 it’s the aftermath. I grew 🆙 with alcohol mother & so I turned to that. By exposure but after while I notice some of the things he mentioned & I had to quit. It’s not attractive at all being a drunk
He didn't blame his mom, he let on that she was a drinker as well but he took accountability.

Drugging & drinking will definitely do that to you
Or older she is not to bad looking. If you going to do it take care of yourself at least. Blessings.
The plaintiff is to blame for the defendant's behavior, she turned him into a son husband and this is a big problem in our community alot of black single mothers coddle their sons that's your son not your man .The defendant has no defense he owes the money.
I loved this episode. I hope they work things out.
My father worked 7 days a week 12 hours a day to support me, my mom and sisters. I started blaming my problems on him for not being there. Brcause he was always working. I started drinking at 14. Started drinking and doing other stuff daily by 18. Blamed them for it. When I turned 25. I quit everything. And apologized to my parents for what I put them through. And told them I used to blame them for no reason. They are the best parents anyone can have. Now I'm married with four kids and make very good money. I have my parents live with me. No way my mom would’ve sat down with anyone I call myself running the streets with and just say “keep him out of trouble”. No no no. That’s giving your authority to them. Mom, it was you and dad’s job to keep him out of trouble up to a certain point. I understand he was difficult but we as parents gotta saddle up and take on the challenge! Now your son has to figure out how to grow up as an adult. If you can own that, and he can own his mess, you both can acknowledge it, heal, and begin to move forward.
There are thousands of dudes who are looked out for by hood dudes. I agree it's not the best case but there are challenges to being a single impoverished mom that make you make unconventional choices.
@@amaliomar I understand. I don’t assume that all single moms are impoverished though. There are some that are not and still make the same choices.

What do you call it when troubled men and women come from two-parent families.
@@sereneamani1713 I've found that either:
1) The parents or one parent sucked to the point it damaged the kid
2) There was another significant influence in the kids life that led them astray (uncle, aunt, cousin, friend, teacher, erc.)
3) Something traumatic happened that overrides the parents influence (assault, SA, drugs, etc.)

in my opinion , a mother should not sue her child for rent , especially when she is not even a landlord , but his mom was living with him in her own house for goodness sake . i would understand if the defendant actually had cost her money , but he didnt because her rent or mortgage did not change while he was there . and why would u want to hurt your child's credit by having a judgement put on it ? i dont think thats love , i think thats jus a way to get money and by the way she never proved they agreed on 300 per month .
I couldn't sue my kinfolk under any circumstance. Family is just to precious, particularly in the black community. Unfortunately, for this defendant he owes his mother for rent.
