The husband was lying! He said no before the judge was even halfway through her question. That seems so shady to me. Also, I think the reason why the husband didn't come is that he's a bad liar and he did not want to be questioned by the judge. The landlord acted like she wasn't sure where the husband is at, he might be at work? She knows where he's at!

It's the husband's assertion he didn't give him permission to do anything with furniture.

Those kinds of laws vary greatly by state. In some states it’s doubled (or tripled) before taking deductions, in some states no deductions are taken at all as punishment against the landlord for not following the rules and then it might be doubled or tripled; it just depends.
Judge Milian tries to follow the laws of the litigants’ state of residence rather than the state they’re doing the arbitration in (which happens to be the same state in this case, if I’m not mistaken).

Im sure JM caught on to that with how trigger happy the husband was with his response and didn’t want to argue over the telephone. Also when the defendant said that she wasn’t too knowledgeable in being a landlord, I’m sure JM took that as a shady comment. Pretty sure that JM just gave the lady something to keep her from pushing anything further. Notice how JM didn’t make a ruling on the defendant’s counter claim because we all know it’s based off more shadiness. Good call from the judge.

I love TPC with Judge Millian but she's done this a couple of times where she calls a witness over the phone. These witnesses should be objected by the plaintiff due to the fact that they're not in court nor have been sworn in to testify. 😮

What? That's like saying why do you have to thank someone for holding the door open for you? They volunteered to do it and knew what they were doing... Or a doctor saving your life.. that's his job right? No need to thank him.. actually with your logic.. there would be no point to thank anyone at all!

Not sure I trust either of them. The plaintiff was very quick to deny everything like the defendant. I believed him until he said he didn't leave beer cans around (probably from the people moving him). Come on! Weird case.
