Fluke Tournament Strategy That Worked to Perfection!!! (Just Not For Us)

- June 1, 2024 was the annual Billys by the Bay Fluke Tournament, a GREAT annual event here in Peconic Bay (Eastern Long Island) that saw 63 boats participate this year and a top prize of $10,000 big ones!
This video discusses our strategy for the tournament and even though we didn't win (and big congratulations to Team Double B who did win) our strategy I think proved to be the right one as the winning fish was caught just a few feet away from us.
I also had some fun getting to name some of the out of state boats that I registered for the tournament including my good friends on the El Nino, my buddy JT Tralli and my good friend Greg Zis.

Of course the winning team fishes off a 26' Shamrock! They're nice folks - I met Barry and crew and fished with them when i launched out of Mattituck Creek a couple of years back when I only had the 20' Shamrock WAC. They're hardcore fun seekers for sure! Congrats to them!

Hey John, any reason you guys were using a bucktail with no teaser. Do you think a quality fluke wouldn't hit the teaser or you didn't want to waste time with tangles
That was just me doing that. With the spinner and light presentation, I never use a teaser. The other guys all had teasers
